D18 is probably my favorite model although my 1973 one is not the greatest one (but stil I like it). This one is superb. Thanks you for this story, very nicely (and quietly) told. Marc from France.
I've seen Jim play live twice in the last twenty or so years (once in SF, and once in Portland) and both times I thought this guy has some the very best guitar tone I've ever heard. Maybe it was this D-18 -it's a killer for sure- but I think he could pull great tone from any box. Great vid. Thanks.
Well Jim, your persistence paid off. That is one of the nicest sounding D-18’s I’ve ever heard
I've heard play that guitar live many times. It's a fine one....as are most of that era.

Great dry tone...what strings were used here?
How much is it worth now?
2024 prices I would say a minimum of $20,000 probably a little more
Most guitars would be finished after 30 yrs
Wow, this has great tone. I dont like most Martin tone. This old boy sounds good. So does the player!
