- The 2024 Range Rover SV ($268,065 starting in Canada, $209,000 starting in the US) is a 607 horsepower luxury SUV that has seen a small power bump for this model year through mild hybridization. @@anaveragehuman2937 Repulsed, really? The vehicle is actually pretty nice. The markup for the do-dads, matte paint, ect. is pretty repulsive though, I get that. Thomas' comment about making other RR drivers jealous at the hoity-toity coffee shop is the SV's raison d'etre.

As someone who lives a few miles from the LR factory, the clientele for these cars don't care about insurance or purchase price because their cocaine empire is going well enough for those things to not be an issue.

It’s being fixed presently. The new generation Rangie & Rangie Sport have only been stolen via taking it from the driver or stealing the keys via breaking and entering the home. JLR has a liaising unit with UK insurance companies to show the ‘unhackability’ of the new generation cars and the free security updates to older cars (that not enough people are taking up yet.)
@@rikkiseddo Highly doubt its "unhackable". Maybe these new ones are more secure but the demand is high for stolen RRs. Range Rovers are one of the most stolen vehicles in Ontario, Canada which is why James mentions that multiple times. Thieves can still use signal relay attacks, physically steal the key, or use a canbus injection attack.
@@BCJDM Less hackable. Less vulnerable. A brand new $250,000 lump o' easy driving prestigious iron is always going to be a target. Apparently, the African black market is a really hot for "lightly used" late model Rovers.

A $13,000 paint job with an SV badge that looks like a sticker that could have cost upwards of 65 cents.
It's ceramic, listen to James. It only looks and feels like plastic, listening to Thomas.
For a matt effect, go for a matt protection film, costs about $3000, not only it would look exactly the same, it also protects the paint. This factory matt paint? You can't even move it through automated carwash and there's no way to fix any scratches.

@v12-s65 ummm you mean a Camaro SS? They're pretty good as long as they're 2016 or newer and in the SS or ZL1 trim, but I don't stand with GM due to the recently uncovered BS with data sale to brokers... so sold it. It was a fun car. But now I roll in Benzes.

I work for land rover experience my customers can't get enough of the all wheel steering for most it's the most transformative aspect of the vehicle
I have to say, as a person who simply doesn't like SUVs, that this is perfectly gorgeous. I love the simple, smooth surfaces that don't look bulky. I love how it avoids the hack n' slash in-vogue styling, the whole thing being perfectly tailored. The smooth curve of surface around the nose is particularly wonderful. It doesn't look flashy, yet it looks modern. It is a masterful example of substance over trendy style. As the Throttle House guys went on (entertainingly so), I just couldn't stop thinking of how this looks truly like a luxury vehicle in the way that no creased-and-folded Lexus can. I hate SUVs, yet this is a gorgeous, perfect luxury SUV to look at, and I love it for that. Now, Land Rover, please re-instate the proper physical controls. Screens impress zoomers but suck. Oh, and please rise above the rock bottom of the build quality rankings. My Kia and I now sadly step off the soap box and return to real life....

Maybe, but out of all the uptight lazy wife cars, this looks the best by a loooong shot haha. Compare to an x7m60, a porsche cayenne turbo, mercedes gls, no need to even mention the hideous bentayga... only the rsq8 looks decent in comparison but that not really the same type of vehicle and instantly makes you look like a knob who took a second mortgage on his house just to drive a big car haha

It's ceramic meant to look like plastic. They did this to make the RR less desirable to thieves. They'll look in the window and and say "Oh! This has a plastic shifter. Who wants that?! Definitely not stealing this one!" Think of it as anti-theft 😂

I just got my new Range Rover Sport in hands and the driving experience is exceptionally good. I gotta tell you guys that the interior at the front seats of this SV looks no different with my new RRS. Even engine sounds no difference, thought mine has only 400 HP. The electical armrest at the backseats is indeed fancier, but I, as a driver, would have rare chance to use it. All the extra money goes to something most people would hardly understand.

Why are the manufacturers obsessed with removing all the essential dials & buttons in the name of "minimalist" design? No one asked them to make it that minimalist. It's a car, we expect, and are happy to have, some buttons and dials. No one is complaining that there are too many buttons, but EVERYONE is complaining that there aren't essential buttons!

I've watched you guys I think since the beginning and I'm glad you guys have done so well for yourselves. I think by not being the cookie cutter type of reviewers, but by just being yourselves has made the majority of us connect with you. I just am concerned that almost every vehicle you review(the vast majority) is priced for people who love to give up the majority of their paychecks just to drive. The prices have gotten so out of control that it's no longer even funny. As a 30+ year car guy, it's easy to review and talk about something with $100k+ MSRP. Grab a base vehicle, manual trans and no options and review that. Are cars tech devices or driving machines? The manufactures want you to think of them as tech, so they can keep adding options for people who like to give away their wealth. I personally wanting a driving machine void of anything that isn't mechanical. Tech has ruined the automobile. Js...

Are car manufactures not getting it or do the think they know best? I think its an insidious plot to gain more control over the car than we'd want them to have. All things electronic can be hacked. Keep that in mind for the future. Demand a manual override.

I think Thomas said it correctly. The SV model is for the folks who want to flash (show off). There are no real gains on having the SV model. In reality, folks who have these actually lease them.
