Ha, Yes, Piggy is alive and well--although a little battle scarred. She sits on her own little table in a corner of my living room, and has a wardrobe that consists of several fashionable bandanas (for April she is wearing red). As a pet, she's pretty low maintenance. As a conversation piece--priceless!
Oh the days when if you missed an episode of your favorite show, that was it, you would never know what happened... predating VHS tapes here as well. Now you can find anything you want on the internet, binge watch an entire series in a weekend etc. The pandemic, 2020 has turned most of the world into binge watchers. Hopefully we can get back to our previously scheduled lives prior to covid.
I miss this version of the game when you went for prizes, and in the bonus round you could choose what you played for, and they didn't give you any letters, but the R,S,T,L,N,E got so popular they now give them to you. Oh well. Times change I guess.
I watched Wheel back then and remember the shopping for prizes I do not recall a pig ever being on Wheel sure a strange prize to offer love the all cash format that started not long after this episode aired I was 11 years old when this episode you were on aired I am now 43 years old.
I can't go home without the pig. Those are seven words I never thought I'd hear spoken together on television. However, there is always the possibility of that kind of line in a really weird sitcom where a cop is one of the characters. Makes you think, doesn't it?😁
and this Aired before I was born I was Born at the end of 88 and I used to watch all the Time as a kid but as I got older I grew out of it! I wish I didn't!
Squeal Of Fortune, anyone? That was a game show sketch on Sesame Street, spoofing this very show. The host's name was Pat Playjacks and the hostess' name was Velma Blank.
Must've been pretty interesting, to have a chance to play the version of the game that made you immediately buy stuff with your money. (Nevermind the fact that you got to be on TV.) Hey, you should make yourself a video telling about what it was like going on the show. Travelling there, being instructed of the rules, waiting on stage for the show to start, taking the stuff home... paying taxes. =P
_Flashback Fever_ on Netflix; just normal pretty teenage New York girls in the 1980s trying to be set for life: no monsters, no aliens, no creatures. It brought you to this WoF clip.
Man, I remember the showcase after rounds... what a weird concept. It was clearly just a way to get product marketing into the show similar to Price is Right. Glad they did away with that a few years later.
it was actually the following season I believe 87-88, they had a cash week and it stuck after that, so she was one of the last ones to do shop like this, which is quite interesting in its' own right
Yeah, I didn't care for shopping either. I recall some contestants not looking too happy about being forced to buy stuff you could tell they didn't really want.
@zachhoran I know it's from the Syndicated version (Season 4 if that airdate is correct) because Pat mentioned the $5000 space, the NBC editon never has such a winnings cap busting wedge. Also there's a lot of chuckling by Jack Clark. Between Pat and Eleanor, he really had some good laughs in that booth.
what is really strange to me I got my brother that same telescope for Christmas and paidabout 400.00 for it at a place called best. he used it 3 times I still have it at my house lol
Dennis, this is stranger. I bought the telescope at best buy to view the “ once in a lifetime comet kouhotek.” It was a piece of crap, the comet was a bust and the telescope was only good for viewing craters on the moon. I sold it to a co-worker for 75 bucks and still feel guilty for selling a crappy piece of crap.
Wayne moses cause money is way better and I’m not sure what time they would substitute in order for contestants to do this now they have way more puzzles than back then and the second pat hears that ding ding after about 20 minutes in he know he has like 3 minutes for the last round it’s simple
Is it just me or does Pat seem like he would literally rather be anywhere else but there in this episode. He seems to be rushing things and was sighing sometimes when things got slower than usual. Oh well, probably just an off day...
Tyler Thompson yes - in fact I remember Ron the e true Hollywood story about wheel of fortune this was around the time Pat was getting really bored with wheel and two years before his talk show
THis is from the syndicated run, due to the special prize. But they didn't do an APril Fool show as syndicated Wheel didn't honor holidays until I think 1988.

Lol omg wait do you look exactly the same as you did here xDD cuz that would b kinda cool xD
How nice that she is still around, and that you have the tape of you winning the game!
Do you still have the tires?
@@Burritosuupreme Probably not, since it has been what, 20 years since her appearance.
@@NintenGamer It was obviously a joke. And I know your secret to staying young, Eleanor. Just don't let the Q-Anon nuts catch wind of it.
Just watched the last show with Pat. I used to watch this together with my mom in the 80s and 90s growing up. Bittersweet ending.
January 6, 2015 - Happy 40th Birthday, Wheel of Fortune!
This episode, in its entirety, is available for streaming on PlutoTV's Wheel of Fortune On-Demand. It's Season 4, episode 741
Oh man, look at that portable TV! Now I can go camping and not have to miss an episode of Family Ties!
Eh, I liked Night Court more

@@chedderbug2820 The likelihood of missing episodes is the reason most programs then were all-in-one episodes.

This is really fun to watch.
Thanks for this! I had to show my teen daughter how wheel contestants used to go shopping. Lol! Hope the pig is doing well!
Becky Christiansen I was talking about this with my son too. So much fun!
I just did the same
Becky Christiansen omg i work with her Elenor said the pig is doing well lol

Just watched Pat’s last show today, June 7, 2024
WTF...Did he just say "Pigs are popular to eat and collect..."
That portable TV screen is the same size as my phone. How technology has grown.
your phone would technically be smaller since it's a 5" with a 16 by 9 ratio, instead of the 4 to 3
Jack Son The radio isn’t part of the screen.

and this Aired before I was born I was Born at the end of 88 and I used to watch all the Time as a kid but as I got older I grew out of it! I wish I didn't!
Congratulations Eleanor.
When Pat said "Bangle", I was thinking about the 80s group, The Bangles
Am I the only one who was terrified of the old way they turned the letters?
Tonight’s episode brought me here
Classic!
Pigs are popular to eat & collect.!!!! lol
Wow! Vanna really had some pep back then.
Loved it!
you came so close to that bracelet!
Hah. I am making a Tshirt. “I can’t go home without the pig”
Eleanor is wayyy cute!!!

This was back then when the contestants who solved the puzzles had to spend their money on prizes.
Yeah, and they were ripped off. I couldn't believe how expensive the shit was.

is that daytime or nighttime
We need to bring the shopping spree round instead of giving away trips due to the ongoing pandemic crisis after the third round of wheel.
And the phrase is markass brownlee

No blue wedges in round 2 in this video? There are green wedges instead of blue.
Lots of good ole 80s muff on that stage
Look at the tv you can get for now $370
Codys mom
The worst winning prizes.
Is the pig still doing well?
Piggy?! She made a bad decision.
That “bangle” is hideous
Do u still have the pig???

Do you still have the pig today?
A special group of players get on game shows. And are what to (and) when to say it.
Still have the pig?
So, you really wanted to have the pig so bad that time when you were on Wheel of Fortune, right?
What happened to the portable color television?
It's in your phone now
Jetzon Tires? never heard of them. they sound cheap made.
Jetzon is still around... VERY expensive top-of-the-line tires. Nowadays, they make mainly All-Terrain and Off-Road tires for trucks and SUV's.
