    Nice video. Fortunately I have not had to resort to manually clearing a hose of air bubbles. Taking a plunger to one of the jet openings where the air-lock is, to push any air out, has done the trick for me multiple times.

    The plastic screens inside the filters actually unthread. Then you can use a garden hose to prime the pump.

      That is the method I used but it doesn't always get it right on this tub. Sometimes it still gets an airlock. Bullfrog should make an airlock value. That would be best. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

I didn't know about Hot Tubs getting air locks and you showing what that is and how to clear it makes having this hot tub less intimidating! Now I have been looking up well water / hardness and how to address that with this new hot tub. It would be great to know what type of pre-filter is good (actually works) and the differences between a $70 filter and a $20 one. (Maybe a topic for you to cover)? Thank you so much for this easy to understand / easy to implement video and keep them coming!

    Great video as I just bought a Bullfrog R6 and seem to have a similar problem, though mine occurred 2 days after installation and one day after my first use, which went flawless. On the third day however, prior to my second use, there was a warning message about an airlock and I couldn't get my pump to run (I only have one). It only hummed which scared me so I shut off power and then turned it back on. Once it again it hummed though a louder and more scarier sounding hum on the full pump run setting. So I shut it off. The manufacturer says to try this up to 5 times before calling a service rep which I did nervously as I didn't want to burn out the pump without water running. Since this didn't work, I will try to bleed the air out tomorrow (since it's dark now) per your instruction which is what the Bullfrog RUclips video also says to do. But you're spot on about the side panel as I had the same problem and fear when I had to reinstall it after the electrical work was done, since the spa installers don't stick around for that. Dealer said to just kick it on both sides which isn't easy when it was just me and who wants to kick a brand new panel. Hoping it'll be easy to clear the airlock (if that's all it is) and easier to reinstall the side panel now that I've done it once and know what I'm in for. BtW, the R model has a connecting wire to the side panel to illuminate LEDs on the side panel, something you can't turn off and on unless you remove the wire. The whole side panel design is poorly thought out as is the top mounting bracket which isn't secure on both sides without reinforcement, which the fortunately, the dealer did as he knew about this manufacturer's design flaw and didn't want these kinds of service calls after installation.

    • @JustinsProject
      @JustinsProject  2 года назад

      Goodluck on getting it back up and working. Hopefully, it's just a simple removal of that hose and it works for you too. Thanks for watching, sharing and commenting 👍🏻

    • @user-ee7ii1vy5o
      @user-ee7ii1vy5o 2 года назад

      Meant to reply. It was as simple as you showed; just had to pinch the clamp holding the air hose. It girgled, the air bled out and the pump pushed water like it's supposed to. And since I already had one experience reinstalling the side panel, I was ready to do battle with it the second time and managed to bang it into place. Still not an easy one person job unless you have something to set the side panel onto to set it in place (e.g., two 4-1/2" high blocks). But at least things are working and back together. But how do you turn the pump off once it's on, as it's only a two position switch (i.e , either on low or on high)?

    I bought an X7L 6 years ago. I had my first problem today, leaking jet which destroyed pump 1. If you have one of these, I would suggest placing some sort of plastic cover over the motors so they don't get destroyed by a leak (dumb design IMHO).
    Overall I like the spa, but I would buy a different one if purchasing again because I hate not having a low speed pump on my unit. I also do not like the controller much, I wish there was a temp up and temp down control vs having to press then wait and press again.

      Bullfrog's are definitely a quality spa brand. In my opinion, on the expensive side of things, though. Save a little if you have the cash to buy it. If they (the salesperson) tell you it cost $10-15 a month to heat. Don't believe it. It's more like $50-70 in the winter. We finally got our bullfrog cover (not the one in my video), and I don't like it because it's a canvas style. I think the sun is going to fade it in a couple of years. One option I wish I had gotten was wifi control. Might have to add that now. Hope that helps some. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

    Access panel is the dumbest design ever. To aid in getting it to mate better shoot some wd40 or equivalent onto the receiving channel at each end of the panel and the two mating inserts.
    Vaseline would be good as a substitute.
