Finally a Capt. with a non nonsense bluntly honest #year review of his boat. For all of us, “Do things ourself” people, this video is absolutely the reason for RUclips. Thank you!
Our 2019, 2050 Supercab has the same filler cap and forward vent as your boat. We can fill at the pump with no issues. Pump clicks off as soon as you hear fuel starting to come up the filler hose. I would make sure that the filler hose and rear vent hose are free of kinks and/or hard bends. The big round vent towards the bow can easily be opened with a quarter (coin) by turning it counterclockwise. We have not found this to be necessary when filling but others have. Something easy to try that may save you from spillage. Thanks for the video, these are amazing boats!
Thanks for the tip. I'll check the filler for hard bends, and the vent hose. I haven't had mine on a trailer is some time but next time I do I'll try opening up the front vent when I fill up and see what happens. Yeah, these are amazing boats!
Hey thanks so much for making this video. I've been checking frequently. Mine made it from New Zealand to Seattle, still be a bit before I get it to Ketchikan. Doesn't look like I'll be disappointed. If you get to Alaska let's go fishing.
Yeah, you will NOT be disappointed! When I filmed this I noticed Boat Country had several new Stabicrafts setting behind their shop. I look forward to meeting some other owners some time, and yes, when I have a chance to make it up to Alaska I would love to go out fishing on with you. If you're ever in the Seattle area let me know, there's always something in season out on the sound.
@@woodrowallen Checked at Boat Country Saturday to see if they had any info on your boat, they did not. I did get to check out some other new Stabicraft they had on hand, loved the 2750! Some day I may have to upgrade. :)
maybe talk little about how she handles, ruff seas etc... fuel mileage and or things like how much weight , do you think highly of the brand, if you look at other boats, yours built like a tank, some of us really like that.... thanks for your review and tight lines....
@kevinmason3141 thanks for to comments and suggestions! Those are some great ideas for future videos. I think once crabbing and the fishing seasons I plan to film are over I will take them and make vidoes based on your input, so thanks again!
Thanks for the details. I'm hoping to order one in February. Don't know how long it'll take to get, but I'm a patient old guy. Can you comment on fuel consumption with the Honda 150 on a 2050?
You bet, thanks for the question. Fuel usage varies with water conditions, but on smooth or fairly smooth waters it shows on the gauges: Full throttle holding near redline at 40 MPH: 3 MPG 3/4 throttle holding around 4600 RPM at 30 MPH: 5-6 MPG 1/2 throttle holding around 3000 RPM at 20ish MPH: 6-7 MPG. Not the most precise results, and running around in heavy chop and larger waves takes it down a mpg or two even at lower speeds.
Thank you for making this deatail video! I own a 2010, 2050 and have always wondered what upgrades I was missing out on with the newer models. I do have a request to make if I may? And if you like I can share with you how I did my cabin red lights with LED strips.
@@StabicraftontheSound Thank you! I would like to add the lifting strakes to my boat's haul. But I need to know at what height to weld them on. Would you be so kind as to measure how high they sit from the bottom of the keel, how far back they are from the front of the keel and how long they are? (Or it may be best to just measure from the bottom of the pontoons down to the lift strake.) 🤔 I can make a video of my boat's haul so I can showcase what I'm trying to say and request. If you like, while I'm filming that I can share with you how I did my cabin red lights.

@TdTbMp It does in fact have a drain. It's under the scupper on the the starboard bow side of the hull. Here's the video. If you just want to see the drain hole skip to very near the end. ruclips.net/video/CKe9zQwNBX4/видео.html
@DaBinChe, Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought about that! May call in a professional and get a quote or two. There's really only a couple that PDR probably wouldn't work on.
Someday when I have more time I'd love to get it nice and shiny. Might try that scotch bright and wd40 trick out on some of the interior though sooner than later.

Those are great boats. I wish I owned one.
Thanks for sharing. I am considering something in this class of boat, so all the info I can get does help.
You're welcome, I hope this helped. I'm getting ready to post my 6 year review in about a week, it's still all positive.

Hi. Do you know if their is a drain in the anchor locker? Thx in advance.
Don’t know, I assume it drains into the hull. I’ll run it out this weekend and trade a look and let you know though.

you can fix those dents. Look up paintless dent repair (PDR).
@DaBinChe, Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought about that! May call in a professional and get a quote or two. There's really only a couple that PDR probably wouldn't work on.
A good PDR guy could pull those dints in hull
You need scotch brite scrubbing pad and dw40 to clean the side and the hull then finish it with aluminum polish and buff it
