- This past weekend we went back to the Dallas card show. Although, this time we brought $100,000 to spend on sports cards in 24 HOURS!! We were able to buy lots of different sports cards like football, basketball, soccer, F1, and more ranging from $75 deals all the way to a $15,000 deal. Every time we come to this show, we never have any trouble buying some cool deals. As I've said many times before, I truly think this is the best card show in the country outside of the National, so it's a must attend anytime we can go. Cards fluctuate. Some people leave more room on things they do well on or sometimes we overpay on things we want.
How do people actually make money doing this? Seems like everyone knows what it's all worth anyway and no one is fooling anyone. Like how much of a good deal can you even get?

Love the content. I honestly have learned a lot about negotiating by watching these videos. Worst part is that it seems that the big card shows are not in L.A. which doesn't make sense because the card market out here is insane.

I have a general question. I have discovered a localish card shop in a mall. They are a sports memorabilia shop and have tons of single's boxes from sports to TCG's. While I was looking through some boxes, there is a lot of stuff that is marked with a price and some that are not. Lots of $1-5 stuff. I guess my question would be, is it rude to ask the shop what kind of deals they could make on bulk purchase or should I only be expecting to pay sticker price(at least for what is stickered).
I've only been to card shows as there isn't really any local card shops so didn't know if asking for deals should be different when going into a physical store.
Never hurts to ask. Be polite and respect that they may say no. It's all in the delivery.

These type of content creators and titles are what drive people to follow a fake method to becoming successful in a volatile collection and reselling gimmick. He claims to do it to get kids involved in the hobby but in turn he is creating a false persona and has never owned up to his financial loses and backing from others. Do you not realize that by handing someone $10k in cash and putting it on video, that you're subjecting that seller to both a heavy fine and possible federal prison time? They're required by law to submit IRS form for cash transactions over $10k with the same person in a 12-month period. Zero chance they're doing that, but yet here it is, for the IRS to see. Really bad idea doing this.

Why does so many people in the sports card industry assume nobody pays taxes? It doesn’t matter how you pay the $10,000. You have to pay taxes on it. Especially now because all the apps are required by law to report and give 1099s .
It’s so exhausting reading comments where people act like paying taxes is a new concept. Just because you don’t pay your taxes doesn’t mean nobody does. Ryan doesn’t have an issue doing this because he owns a legitimate business that reports income and pays taxes
