@BVargas78 Quite correct, over the years they decided to stop waiting for a funeral and made it a spectator sport to please the Roman crowds.

We are gathered here today to mark the falling of Mat. He was a good actor who only used his sad voice for funerals. All hail Mat. LOL

@martynrobin121 But they didn't really twist the facts, like slaves did fight to the death at funerals, they were just teaching people about this, in an entertaining way.

@Corsican1769 They were very smart people, they cared for Profit and actually had the same worries we have today. People think Romans were stupid and would pay Coin to train and feed and keep the Gladiators just to kill them for no-profit or no-gain, The Romans were smart and very organised. Most fighters died in Training. As the Gladiator sport became more famous the Gladiators becmae more admired and even Roman Emperors admired and had respect for Slaves Gladiators they were superstars.

@Corsican1769 The Slavetrade is illegal, But it still goes on all over the World and in most nations. And the the Societies and Culture was very different. However Human nature hasnt changed and they would have the same worries we face in everyday life. They way people think has changed but our nature will never changed.

@Corsican1769 We still have slaves today, Its illegal but most nations around the world have them. And there Human just like us, They had the same worries with Family,Money,Work, etc and even modern slaves have the same worries as Roman slaves with been beaten to death and raped, worked to death, etc. Yes there life and culture was alot of different but Human nature hasnt changed.

Gladiators would have not fought to the death rich romans didnt pay money to give them life and training to go waste it by killing them most gladiators fights WERE NOT fought to the death unless it was big competition and big rewards! Gladiators were some1 property and they were only going to make a profit if he done good in the arena they had the best care around and many could wlak around freely they knew what would happen they escaped they had respect whitch was everything back then
