Still doing the Jets thing huh? Even after losing to Bo Nix’s 60 passing yards? They’re a tier below until the prove that offense is more than mediocre
This is a DREAM for Baltimore. We're shaping up to have the running dominance we got with Roman, but now we actually have the weaponry and coaching to counter punch with a passing game when teams sell out to stop it. The defense is starting to get back to form after having to adjust for so much lost coaching and they're showing signs they're going to be not just okay but elite still. Idk man, depending on how the next few games go, this could be as exciting of a year to be a Ravens fan as we've had. Which is really saying something. Espessially with an 0-2 start.
I'm usually one of those annoying types who mostly complain, but now I'll step out of character for a moment: I really appreciate that the upgrades and downgrades are limited to about +/-5. There are a ton of power rankings that move teams up by +11 or down by - - 12 every week, which I think is total nonsense. If you have a basic understanding of the quality of the teams, no game should surprise you so much that you rate a team that drastically different from one week to the next. - The fact that a 2-2 team is sometimes rated higher than a 4-0 team makes complete sense to me. No one needs power rankings that just mirror the standings one-to-one. - I also totally agree with ranking the Saints above the Falcons. It's about the impression on game day and in the previous weeks, not just the final score. This level of nuance is something I miss in many other power rankings. - Bottom line: These are the best power rankings I know of. Great job! Ugh, after all that positive talk, I don’t feel good at all. Uhm, ahh, I totally dislike the Vikings hoodie!!! (Ahh, much better now)
Obviously the odds of having THREE teams that not just made the playoffs but got a win in the first FOUR weeks of your schedule is EXTREMELY small to begin with
Chargers are severely underrated. The biggest concern coming into the year was the holes in the defense, which has been fantastic so far. Their ceiling is very high, and they’re probably operating close to their floor offensively in my opinion!
As a Vikings fan, for me it just depends what this ranking means. A normal power ranking is how a team would be favored in neutral field game but I always get vibes that this is based on how you have played. If it’s based on how you’ve played, it’s hard to argue anything but 1. If it’s going forward who would be favored, this is more than fair and accurate.
Pretty crazy for the broncos to be 2-1 on the road to start the season and against some pretty tough opponents. The rest of the season could be headed in the right direction if things keep going the way they’re going.
Falcons fan here and completely fine with the Saints ahead of us. We fell into a win(which I'll sure take), but we were not better. If we can get our O line figured out though, we can run the ball and get Kirk's timing down easily. We'll be a very good team at that point given how well our defense is playing.
The Vikings could win the Superbowl and this man would say they're #8 or something. I have no idea what it is but regardless of the team we put out he does not care.
@mrmisties it's actually remarkable how many people make this exact comment about various teams every year as if it is isn't absolute ridiculous. They've won 4 games with Sam Darnold at QB, let it breathe.
@@ThatFranchiseGuy They've won 4 games, 3 of which were against teams you've consistently said are top 10. Even the Giants don't really look bad this season. Sam Darnold's history as a quarterback shouldn't be a defining factor in your decision making when assessing team's current abilities. Their defensive and offensive EPA is currently in another dimension, Darnold has the most passing touchdowns by a country mile and they lead the league in every single defensive metric. Sacks, interceptions, tfls, turnovers. Again if you're using previous seasons of play to define current ratings you aren't assessing the NFL in a constructive way. Players improve and regress, 2 years ago people would have told you the Jaguars should be competing for a Superbowl with Trevor Lawrence. Mac Jones had an incredible rookie season and is now a backup, things CHANGE.
@@ThatFranchiseGuy Real talk, what the hell is the point of a weekly power ranking if you're not gonna rank the teams based on the cumulative performance so far, instead trying to hope that your views now match what the future holds? At present moment, Sam Darnold and the Vikings have looked like a top 3 team in the NFL and while that may change later on I don't see why the current ranking has to reflect that.
Much better analysis… although I believe that some of your biases are still coming through. Cowboys can’t run, nor can they stop the run… if they don’t start off with a 14 point lead, the defence will struggle to get off the field. Bengals don’t have a good enough DLine to allow opposing teams to out score the Bengals air attack Jets Oline will be their downfall… Haskett is the worst OC in the league and as good as the defence is… their offence will look even worse once the injury prone OLine is forced to play backups Buffalo’s defensive was exposed last week… probably a little early to penalize them, but something to watch going forward Seahawks look better than I gave them credit for, and once the Dline returns… they will give a lot of teams a run. Buccaneers got punched in the nose by Broncos, but otherwise look better (trap game? Bowles called a crappy game, and were missing DT’s), but probably should be higher Vikings have the fantastic coaching and deserving has won every game thus far…. I still think that the game plan against the Ravens is to load the box, and make the Oline prove that they can pass protect… and the Bucs showed the way to beat the Lions… so on any given Sunday… everyone is vulnerable
I don't think the Bucs demonstrated a model to beat the Lions so much as the Lions beat themselves by going 1-7 in the redzone. Offensive inefficiencies from bad play-calling and uncharacteristically poor execution. Like what can future opponents really take away from that game? Pray that the Lions refuse to do what they're best at in running the ball? That's not actionable.
At what point are you gonna criticize the Jets coaching. Said it week one, too many penalties and “mental mistakes” now you got the coach saying Aaron has to dial back his cadence which has been a WEAPON for years. I understand if you give Aaron the benefit of the doubt (he’s a HOF) but the Jets don’t deserve it
Now we know that Brian Johnson wasn’t the problem last year for the Eagles it was Jalen Hurts especially when Brian Johnson is the pass game coordinator for the Commanders and have one of the best pass games in the league.
Listen, I hate the Eagles, but Hurts is playing without his best receivers, yeah he needs to work on pocket presence, he'll be better when he can throw the ball to Brown and Smith again
As a Commanders fan the Cleveland game has me nervous. Commanders are bit like Buffalo where offense is rolling mostly based on playcalling and QB play (both teams have mid tier O-Line and weapons at best). I think that combo can work well until you hit a defense where they have the edge across the board in terms of talent and I think Cleveland is the type defense that has a talent advantage against us almost across the board.
Honest question: IF Darnold isn't a franchise caliber QB (I'm not saying he IS), why were you talking about MIN keeping him and trading McCarthy away??? Make it make sense, please.
@ThatFranchiseGuy at what point do we say Sam is 'cured'? [I know some are already claiming this 4 wks in] From what I've seen, he's playing at a very good to elite level DESPITE a few bone-headed plays every week. His protection hasn't been top notch *cough* Engram *cough*, he's gotten pressured/hit/sacked, and for stretches, he's been without his top weapons. And yet, he hasn't spiraled or imploded. He's not seeing ghosts or crippling his team with compounding mistakes. If anything, he's building confidence. How many more quarters/games until we say that he's a franchise caliber QB? 🤷
Well to be honest he was pretty sloppy against Green Bay. 2 turnovers and got away with another dropped pick throwing it right to a Linebacker. Thought it's was by far his worst game even if there were some good plays in there too.
The Giants might be a bit better than we think. They got blown out by the Vikes at home, but in contrast the Vikes ran up the same score by half time vs the Packers. Since then the Giants had a win, probably had a good chance to beat the Commanders with a healthy kicker, and took the Cowboys to the last play.
As a Saints fan, my gut feeling before watching was that 17th or 18th would be fair. The injuries to our O-Line and other players have been detrimental to say the least, and it feels like a Dennis Allen led team just doesn’t know how to close games
Putting the lions at 1 is a little ridiculous in my opinion. Their offense is high powered, but the Seahawks defense was very injured. On the defensive side of the ball, I think their front seven is very physical but not quite elite, and their secondary is a big question mark. Week after week they have been torched through the air and without a couple of unlucky breaks for the Seahawks (DK fumble, OPI on Lockett etc.) that could’ve been a very close game.
How are you still on the Jets as a top 10 team!?? They have had 2 unimpressive wins against crappy teams and can’t beat your #19th ranked! Top 10!?? Prediction: Jets will be landing at the #17 team eventually where they belong. This Aaron Rodgers respect is mind boggling. That said, I truly respect your opinions and overall content! Other than the Jets, I can understand the other rankings. Peace!
I honestly thought Marcus was going to rank the bills 5th with that short intro. Bad play calling but more importantly, the Ravens stepped up and dominated my Bills on both sides. Two good teams entered, one wins.
really tough at the top im still worried about goff under pressure and the ravens playing from behind. If I had to guess who will win the superbowl its bills, cheifs or packers.
I had a few run ins with Eagles fans two years ago when I suggested Hurts was a problem and might have been holding Jalen Reagor back. Turns out I was wrong about Reagor but probably right about Hurts. He looks slow af, and if he's not a rushing threat, what is left? A below average passing QB.
Given your “neutral site in a vacuum” explanation prior to your top 7, I think your rankings are fair. I do disagree however with KC and MIN being that low. I personally have KC, DET, MIN, BAL, SF… but I don’t have a channel. Love your content!
IMO Mike McDaniel doesn’t get enough criticism that the Dolphins are 1-6 in there last 7 games. I understand Tua is out, but when teams lose their starting QB it shows the well coached teams and the poor coached teams and the Dolphins are one of the poor coached teams. He needs to give up play calling duties to Frank Smith. I think McDaniel has lost the Lockeroom. McDaniel hasn’t been able to adjust since the second half of last year when teams have figured his offense out.
I think #12 is fair for the Packers right now. Though I feel quite optimistic! First half vs Minnesota was a NIGHTMARE, but that second half has me feeling optimistic and like they can beat anyone.
I'm a Cowboys fan and there's no way Dallas should be that high. I don't get how they're 6 spots above the Saints who completely embarrassed them, especially with two of their best defenders out for likely multiple weeks. Commanders look head and shoulders like the best NFCE team, at least so far.
Khalil shakir has yet to drop a pass this year, that might've been mack Hollins who was very underwhelming this game. Only missed target on shakirs behalf was the very good defensive deflection by Marlon Humphrey in the 2nd qtr. I think shakir has the nfl record catching 30 straight targets.
Wow, the Packers bais is strong with this one. Sam throws a pick? Sure, it went down on the stat sheet as a pick, but the eye test says that's bs. If anything, the vikings should be up higher for beating the refs along with the packers.
I don’t mind where they fall in the rankings but to say the score was closer than the game suggests isn’t true the packers really stepped up in the second half and almost came back to win that game
People are too obsessed with blowout wins. Chiefs beat the ravens a few weeks ago. Chiefs are undefeated. Bills had a blowout win last week and you overreacted there too. I think they can still be 9 or 10 when there healthy
Doesn't he always say he will drop teams if they're injured
Thats ridiculous we were down aj lane and smitty. We are likely not a top 10 team ill admit that but can cant drop us further yey
NFC north is the best division in football and it's not close
49ers way too high right now. The Vikings disrespect feels criminal. Not even an nfc fan.
42:16 I thought the Ravens were going to be at #5 when you said controversial 😂 Chiefs at 5 makes sense cause man that offense has taken so many hits. This year's Cheifs is what people thought they were last year
I dont see why the dolphins can't trade for jimmy gorapollo he's just diet tua
Trading for another injury prone QB, who has never been able to extend plays is definitely the move that will improve their situation....
They need to start trading pieces, to acquire as many picks, and clear up as much cap space as possible.
Wasn't a fan of Houston at 7, but then as each team got revealed it made more and more sense. Damn, it's a competitive league this year at the top
I generally see where you're coming from with your rankings but these rankings are really suspect.
Wild putting SF (and Buffalo IMO) over Minnesota just because “I still dk about Darnold”
Not saying they have to be #1, but they can’t be behind both those teams
I trust buffalo more than minnesota
@@ovoj5631 Purely just QB vs QB I can understand it.
But entire roster + coaching staff, Buffalo doesn’t stack up
@@vikings_fans_anonymous I know darnold has looked great, even top 5 qb so far, I just can't get out it of my head just how awful he looked with the jets
@@ovoj5631 it was certainly a bad taste, but also look at that Jets team.
Almost/possibly all of that coaching staff aren’t in the NFL or even college anymore cause they were so bad - and his #1 receiver was Robbie Chosen.
KOC and the weapons in MN are light years ahead of that 2018-21 Jets franchise
SF is wild considering Fred Warner is the only reason that game wasn’t a 25 point blowout. Vikings beat the hell out of them that day
Still doing the Jets thing huh?
I'm usually one of those annoying types who mostly complain, but now I'll step out of character for a moment:
I really appreciate that the upgrades and downgrades are limited to about +/-5.
(Ahh, much better now)
Vikings are the only team to beat 3 teams with a playoffs win the previous year and be 4-0 ever.
Obviously the odds of having THREE teams that not just made the playoffs but got a win in the first FOUR weeks of your schedule is EXTREMELY small to begin with
@@PrycelessIrving yes and the chance of you being good enough to be undefeated against those teams is even more rare.
Not placing them top 3 is absolutely wild.
Hey Marcus, love the great content. was wondering if Studs and Duds are coming back this year. keep up the great work

Back once again to hear about the Kneecap Biters
Chargers are severely underrated. The biggest concern coming into the year was the holes in the defense, which has been fantastic so far. Their ceiling is very high, and they’re probably operating close to their floor offensively in my opinion!
They got a Nick "Kotite" Siriaani problem
21:49 smh, why does my guy Jeremy McNichols have to catch a stray like that 😂
As a Vikings fan, for me it just depends what this ranking means. A normal power ranking is how a team would be favored in neutral field game but I always get vibes that this is based on how you have played. If it’s based on how you’ve played, it’s hard to argue anything but 1. If it’s going forward who would be favored, this is more than fair and accurate.
Having to wait this long to hear about my commanders in all my power rankings/mock draft podcasts feels so foreign lol
Crazy how the giants could be 3 and 1 if they didn’t have jones at qb and the Vikings game would of been more competitive.
Broncos higher than the bears and colts is absurd lmao
Bro loves rodgers so much he had to rationalize him losing to them
Are the Bills really better than the Vikings? Given the teams they’ve faced and how they’ve done it?
The Vikings could win the Superbowl and this man would say they're #8 or something. I have no idea what it is but regardless of the team we put out he does not care.
@@MrMisties he's a Packer fan plain and simple
The Lions just moved Glasgow over to center, but he’s a starter for them regularly
Much better analysis… although I believe that some of your biases are still coming through.
Cowboys can’t run, nor can they stop the run… if they don’t start off with a 14 point lead, the defence will struggle to get off the field.
Bengals don’t have a good enough DLine to allow opposing teams to out score the Bengals air attack
Jets Oline will be their downfall… Haskett is the worst OC in the league and as good as the defence is… their offence will look even worse once the injury prone OLine is forced to play backups
Buffalo’s defensive was exposed last week… probably a little early to penalize them, but something to watch going forward
Seahawks look better than I gave them credit for, and once the Dline returns… they will give a lot of teams a run.
Buccaneers got punched in the nose by Broncos, but otherwise look better (trap game? Bowles called a crappy game, and were missing DT’s), but probably should be higher
Vikings have the fantastic coaching and deserving has won every game thus far….
I still think that the game plan against the Ravens is to load the box, and make the Oline prove that they can pass protect… and the Bucs showed the way to beat the Lions… so on any given Sunday… everyone is vulnerable
Agreed on the Jets. They are simply not a top 10 team. Not with Hackett and Saleh in charge.
I understand if you give Aaron the benefit of the doubt (he’s a HOF) but the Jets don’t deserve it
This is the season of forgotten quarterbacks, they’re all on revenge tours right now
Now we know that Brian Johnson wasn’t the problem last year for the Eagles it was Jalen Hurts especially when Brian Johnson is the pass game coordinator for the Commanders and have one of the best pass games in the league.

Listen, I hate the Eagles, but Hurts is playing without his best receivers, yeah he needs to work on pocket presence, he'll be better when he can throw the ball to Brown and Smith again
As a lions fan, this game was an excellent example of game script going right.
I feel I did a good job of placing that conversation all under the context of "if he continues"
@ThatFranchiseGuy at what point do we say Sam is 'cured'? [I know some are already claiming this 4 wks in]
From what I've seen, he's playing at a very good to elite level DESPITE a few bone-headed plays every week.
@ThatFranchiseGuy agreed, but what would be the litmus test for him to receive the TFG Certified Franchise QB stamp?
Why are the Texans always ranked so high? They’ve looked pretty bad this season so far
Not today
@@zackaryhaselius2226 thats fair, but im also not a Bills hyper
The Giants might be a bit better than we think. They got blown out by the Vikes at home, but in contrast the Vikes ran up the same score by half time vs the Packers. Since then the Giants had a win, probably had a good chance to beat the Commanders with a healthy kicker, and took the Cowboys to the last play.
The Lions #1 in a power rankings video is not something I expected to see in my lifetime 5 years ago.
GO RAVENS BABY !!! As a bama fan i also love seeing Jamo breakout for the lions
As a Saints fan, my gut feeling before watching was that 17th or 18th would be fair. The injuries to our O-Line and other players have been detrimental to say the least, and it feels like a Dennis Allen led team just doesn’t know how to close games
Geno has been balling his ass off for sure
I have no idea what the argument is for Dallas being that high up in the rankings
Eagles fans are probably blaming Brian Johnson for the offensive struggles 😂
I never thought I'd see my lions on top 😢 stop the count!
Putting Buffalo and San Fran above MN is unserious. No chance.
Thank you for the saints respect, they played better just shooting them selves in the foot.
If shooting themselves in the foot is "playing better," then where did the previous shots land?🤔

The Jets have beaten only “currently unserious” teams, their coaching is atrocious, and their “OC on the field” actively hates the HC.
The only power rankings I look forward to
IMO Mike McDaniel doesn’t get enough criticism that the Dolphins are 1-6 in there last 7 games.
I agree, also the Dolphins should consider signing Tannehill or trading for Trey Lance
Correction: The eagles have a coaching and injury problem*
I think #12 is fair for the Packers right now. Though I feel quite optimistic! First half vs Minnesota was a NIGHTMARE, but that second half has me feeling optimistic and like they can beat anyone.
A team with no defense is ranked #1 🤣🤣🤣
We on the upswing boys. All the way up to 29 LEGO
I'm a Cowboys fan and there's no way Dallas should be that high. I don't get how they're 6 spots above the Saints who completely embarrassed them, especially with two of their best defenders out for likely multiple weeks. Commanders look head and shoulders like the best NFCE team, at least so far.
Bucs got like a collective 2 pressures without Vea and the second he comes back we got 6 sacks

If anything, the vikings should be up higher for beating the refs along with the packers.
packers db also dropped a pick so it evens out
I don’t mind where they fall in the rankings but to say the score was closer than the game suggests isn’t true the packers really stepped up in the second half and almost came back to win that game
Chiefs don’t give 2 shits about the regular season. Last year proved how absolutely little the regular season matters to them
People are too obsessed with blowout wins. Chiefs beat the ravens a few weeks ago. Chiefs are undefeated. Bills had a blowout win last week and you overreacted there too. Chiefs have won 10 games in a row against the best the nfl has to offer. Anywhere besides #1 until they lose discredits your material
