Unfortunately there is very little that can be done to remove sitting MLA. even court cannot remove him unless proven that he has committed fraud in election or breach assembly code of conduct. If both d present PM-HM, who were the CM-HM then at Gujarat, cd bring in such an effective GR, why cannot d Govt of Goa put a firm foot down, to similarly restrict any purchase/sale of Goan house or land to outsiders, who in turn do callously & completely change & deface the very ecology, demography & culture of d place/state by coming in enmasse to outnumber locals, & then bringing in goons to compel d owners/residents to forcibly vacate/migrate or use their power of ill-gotten money/influence to buy off officials in d offices of d Panchayat & elsewhere, by tampering land, birth-death records etc while any trivial work of a local does not move. They all seem to b having strong political, bureaucrat, police backing from bottom to d top, so as to openly & boldly threaten our locals, d guts to lodge police/legal complaints & forcibly manipulate to get as they please, and then spin d victim yarn to garner support for their overt & covert misdeeds. If the Govt is unable to act in controlling these hollowing termites, it wd not b far when d locals from all surrounding villagaes collectively take d law into their hands to prevent any such buying or selling in their areas enmasse by such estate brokers sitting or operating freely & boldly from elsewhere from destroying d Goan Heritage.
