Great video of Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad freight train, Dan! This was a nice looking train. The scenery in the Mt. Shasta area was beautiful especially the vistas with Mt. Shasta. Thank you for documenting this train on its way to and from Weed, California to Hornbrook. California and for sharing this video with us!
Thank you Thomas! It's a wonderful region and an absolute treat that a train still runs here at all. The fate of it is uncertain so I'm glad I could film it one last time if its time is up soon. Hopefully that's not the case though.
Another fantastic video, Dan! I love that part of the country. And shoot, until I watched this I was under the impression the line north to Medford was still closed due to fire damage in a tunnel near the summit.
Thank you for sharing. I wish I could have seen Hornbrook in this video. I used to be part owner of R ranch right there in Hornbrook. The old SP Yard was right there. Next time maybe. Or if you have it please post it. Thanks again for sharing.
I know this video is a couple of months ago but today is Christmas and I would just like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and also a thanks for your great videos.
I'm starting to look at more of the videos I havn't seen yet (been watching my favs too much :) ) I love how you framed the Loco going into the mountain...would make a great picture puzzle...does anyone do puzzles anymore? Hmmmm!
The Mt Shasta region is incredible and makes for such a breathtaking backdrop! I tried to see if my wife and I would enjoy puzzles some years back. It wasn't her thing. 😅
@@TheRailfanDan Was that way when it was SP. They never ran loads south (aka SP East) . It was more than the tunnel fire there was river damage also. Everything went north (aka SP West) to the Eugene yard. So it was Riddle, OR west and Grants Pass, OR East, Southern Pacific.
At 13:53 the road has really wide shoulders at the crossing. I wonder if that's so school busses and so on can stop to look for trains without blocking the travel lane.
Especially enjoyed the low flying and pacing behind the locos as they headed toward Shasta.
That was the big shot I was really excited for when I found out they were headed back to Weed light power!
Beautiful Dan… beautiful.
Thanks Ken!
Another great video - shortline, nice scenery off the usual beaten railfan path, super drone work, and the light power move adds a special touch.
Thanks Steve!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Thanks Mike!
South of Grenada you really show the area. Well-Done!
Thanks!
Nice video again merry Christmas Everyone
Thanks!
Great footage.........as usual
Thanks a lot!
The scenes with Mt. Shasta are spectacular.

WEED went up in smoke last week , wildfires
Hope all is well to residents of a beautiful little town

Thanks Robert! It was shut down for a number of years and then was reopened in 2015 after extensive work.
@@TheRailfanDan, thanks for that info! I hadn't a clue.
Beautiful !
VERY NICE VIDEO!! Great aerial coverage and mellow music. 👌
Thank you Steve!

Sorry Vincent I did not get Hornbrook but I should have. A swing and a miss on that one.
@@TheRailfanDan If you do I would love to see it. Hilt too,
Merry Christmas Dan from a former resident of Siskiyou County (1957 to 1960). I always enjoy your videos from this region.
Hey thanks a lot I appreciate it! Glad I could get this for you to see then!
Awesome video, Dan. I miss the CORPs red scheme, though.
Thanks! I do too. One of my all time favorite schemes.
awesome Vid, Dan!!! Merry Christmas from Solingen/Germany
Thanks Harald!
As always Dan your videos are great, like the captioning as I'm not that familiar with that part of Norcal.
Thanks a lot! Glad to hear you like the captions as I hope it helps people who are interested in locations.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year All!
Thank you Dennis. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well!
I like chasing CORP in this area in my m38a1...
Nice!
It's interesting at 0:35 the track the train is using doesn't have a crossing signal but the other tracks next to it do have a crossing signal.

what a great Christmas present! Merry Christmas Dan and to everyone! Anyone know why there are lumber loads going north? Seems backwards.
I took a load of plywood from Canada via Maine to KFalls 4100 miles by truck
Almost every load on the Siskiyou line goes North to the UP in Eugene. It's been that way for a long time I believe.

How many batteries do you have for your drone?
I have 14 but it runs 2 at a time so 7 worth of flights.
