I lost my pop he was on drugs for 71 years, and i never had a relationship with my him. My aunt found him in the ally way. I I think he overdosed.. Funny, he said to my aunt he was going to Rehab, and he just got out of the hospital. I don't know his relationship with Chrrist. I pray he was ready, Lord, help me because i want to be ready. We can be here one day and gone the same day. We just don't know. Thank you, God, for giving us time to get it right with you while it's day, Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. You sound like you had a praying grandmother. ❤ Lord knows, a lot of people who were raised like us, don't teach their kids/grandkids to pray like our elders taught when I was coming up. I'm 53 now and I lost my grandmother when I was 6. I can still hear her asking God to protect her kids and grandkids when she prayed at night(I slept with my grandmother... I was her favorite). And in the morning she would THANK GOOD for keeping us. She taught us how to pray early in life, not just ourselves but for everyone. Today, I have 1 grandchild and I keep that little boy covered by the blood of Jesus!

The grief process gives me days where I don’t cry, and other days where the sadness comes without any warning. When I hear the phrase “hard to rely on your Mamma’s prayers when your Mamma is no longer there”.. I start crying😢.. for many years when I was a young child, I didn’t understand what she was doing.. but now I realize because of her prayers, she taught me how to serve GOD in good times and bad times.. I know that one day my time will come, and I pray that I’ll be ready, for what a joyous celebration that will be -- when we all get together again !!!!! 🙏 Thank you GOD for giving me a Mother for 96 years that was unlike any other !!! I remember summer of 2006 this was a big hit playing on local stations down south. In the midst of watching my father decline in his battle with cancer, this song would play seems every time we were going to the cancer center, back home, then constantly when he was admitted to the hospital. He spent his last 3 weeks in the ICU fighting the good fight. Once he passed away, this was playing on the drive home & it hit me that he was gone, but I felt like it was a wake up call in a sense. In order to get to where he's going I have to get myself together. I was 16 at the time & I am way more mature than most my age, but that's alright. It's an uphill battle in today's world, but I meditate daily & pray that God will keep me. There needs to be songs like this that can minister to people. Be blessed.

She gives me headaches from not listening and I worry about her safety every day thinking I will receive very bad news of a fall. She did fall a few days ago but thank God she didnt hurt herself too badly. She REFUSES to have someone care for her and still wants to be independent. She has lost sight in one eye and barely can see out the next. She is very forgetful yet she still wants to do everything on her own. She chase away the helper we provided for her and is much happier without her around. Honestly she makes me want to pull my hair out and causes me to experience worry and anxiety that can be prevented if only she would just listen...However, despite all that, I cannot imagine one day without her...I can only imagine what you are experiencing right now but I hear from others that it eventually gets easier to handle.

Once she passed away, I was lost..literally. The Lord had put her in my life as a LIGHT & took her away. Once she was gone, I lost my way. I started selling drugs. I got on drugs & alcohol real bad & got locked up. It took almost 12 years to find my way back. Thank God! 🙏🏽

I remember summer of 2006 this was a big hit playing on local stations down south. In the midst of watching my father decline in his battle with cancer, this song would play seems every time we were going to the cancer center, back home, then constantly when he was admitted to the hospital. He spent his last 3 weeks in the ICU fighting the good fight. Once he passed away, this was playing on the drive home & it hit me that he was gone, but I felt like it was a wake up call in a sense. In order to get to where he's going I have to get myself together. I was 16 at the time & I am way more mature than most my age, but that's alright. It's an uphill battle in today's world, but I meditate daily & pray that God will keep me. There needs to be songs like this that can minister to people. Be blessed.

Just came back home to Atlanta from my big brother's Homegoing Service in Newark, New Jersey; I couldn't stop singing this song! Listened to it continuously in our rental car! Going back on the plane, The phrase of the song just kept ringing out: " I PRAY THAT WE GIVE OUR HEARTS A SEARCH- SO THAT WE WONT BE PLAYING CHURCH!" My Mom passed away September 27th, 2020 and this was her favorite song. So, much so that she had me set it as her ring tone. It will be a year in September that she passed away and I can't turn her cellphone off and I can't stop crying whenever I hear this song!! I miss my Mom, I miss my best friend!!

@@tonymichelletownsend5388 I dont always get along with my mother, yet I cannot imagine life without her. She is 89 and very stubborn. She gives me headaches from not listening and I worry about her safety every day thinking I will receive very bad news of a fall. She did fall a few days ago but thank God she didnt hurt herself too badly. She REFUSES to have someone care for her and still wants to be independent. She has lost sight in one eye and barely can see out the next. She is very forgetful yet she still wants to do everything on her own. She chase away the helper we provided for her and is much happier without her around. Honestly she makes me want to pull my hair out and causes me to experience worry and anxiety that can be prevented if only she would just listen...However, despite all that, I cannot imagine one day without her...I can only imagine what you are experiencing right now but I hear from others that it eventually gets easier to handle.
@@carolwhilby4179 I really appreciate you sharing and caring. This means a lot. My Mom was my best friend and I thought that she would be with me forever!! No, we didn't agree on everything and yes I had days where she worked my last nerve. Just like you , I always tried to stay respectful!! I am so happy that I did this. Now, I don't have to be with rittled with guilt!! I did whatever I could do and more and yet I still wish that I could have done more!! I understand your Mom wanting to keep her independence. However, I also understand you trying to do what's best for her!! It's something how the roles reverse as we get older!! Try to enjoy as much time as you can with your Mom . I really wish that I had more time with mine. Although, we don't know each other, I really do appreciate you reaching out to me!!

That's the beauty of this forum.
I will try to enjoy my mom and overlook the challenges...Some times I do loose it with her though, so please pray for me about that. I am working hard to find humour in what she does rather that being so frustrated with her...
