Lovely, I loved the dance between Charlotte and Colbourne. They really tell the story with their eyes and hands... Beautifully done! I also loved in this ball, when Charlotte and Georgiana dance, like two besties having the time of her lives!

Ben has story telling eyes…..they speak louder than words in so many scenes here. He is brilliant as is Rose. Amazing actors

I like that Ben is invested in Alexander Colbourne 's story and he seems like a genuine guy on screen and off screen. He almost seems to just be enjoying the role, and I appreciate that as a fan. He really puts effort in the emotions, and this role might actually be a break out moment for him. Just please do no leave us like Theo James did. Since we don't know what's next for Rose and Ben please end Season 3 happily. I just feel like they are going to get wonderful movie roles after this.

Season 3 was filmed back to back with season 2, so most likely, if Colbourne is meant to be her longer term love interest, then surely he will continue on into the next season. It won't be about the actor not wanting to come back/having schedule conflicts, it will only be about the writers choice at that point...

For anyone wanting the music to Charlotte and Colbourne's dance it's Boccherini - Night Music of the Streets of Madrid

This is my absolute favorite PBS/Masterpiece production since Downton Abbey. Season 2 is actually my favorite! And no one is more surprised than I after the disappointing news that Theo would not return. Charlotte and Colbourne have surpassed even Elizabeth and Darcy as my favorite Jane Austen couple. I absolutely adore both the characters and the actors who brought them to life. I’ll definitely be watching the careers of Rose and Ben. I *can’t wait* to see what #SanditonS3 brings, and I would love to see the series grow even beyond the 3rd season. How lovely that would be.💖💖💖💖💖💖

Totally agree with you! And, I loved Alison and Fraser. They gave us a HEA that we haven't had yet with Alexander and Charlotte. Pray be they also get a HEA with each other.

Colburne has become my favorite character and I believe his role is pivotal going forward.
      Season 4, and 5 please!!!!!

It's been a tremendous season 2 for this story. So very glad to have the story continue even into directions I hadn't expected. Some much to love and hate about the different story lines. Well done!

Dear PBS Masterpiece & Sanditon EPs,
Thank you so much for saving this series and allowing as many remaining characters as possible to continue their journies!
Some of us understand that you had make due with whatever you could given the circumstances of both initial cancellation, scheduling conflicts, and covid restrictions. But the new story is lovely, continuing a trend of a wonderful blend of other Austen fare (and some), especially I think the deeper themes age, loss, and second chances featured in Sense & Sensibility! Something not often explored in these regency period pieces. The production values too; the scenery, the matching color pallets, the way the town sits on the beach are all exquisite!
Looking forward to the last episode (since I don't have passport at the moment) and of course, season three!

      1) The several dances of groups of couples are versions of English longways country dances that were most
      popular in UK. then.
      2) Waltz scenes are several decades ahead of their time---accurate for Victorian era, but unknown in UK at
that time. Alleged waltz was done by
some, but it was really Austrian landler, waltz s direct predecessor. See Sound of
Music + Thomas Wilson s dance manual. Jane Austen, might have danced
the landler "waltz", but never the real Aus
trian, waltz (modern waltzes, N + S American, + Euro, are based on this). Jane Austen could not have danced real
waltz, might have seen it if an Austrian
folk dance co., toured London or Bath.

I think she would of love the season one and two, she wouldn't of killed off one of male leads.
Jane would of wrote different story line for sidney and charlotte.
Jane would love the banter between all the characters aswell

amazing dance so Austen - like, dancing without saying much but telling a whole story. Hoping for Charlotte and Alexander Happily ever after

    • @tymanung6382
      @tymanung6382 2 года назад

Real waltz as in scene was only fully accepted in England in 1840s, after polka. Jane Austen.would never dance or see that sort of waltz in her lifetime or in her country. Some English did a more
Austrian landler version--- see Sound of Music + Thomas Wilson s dance manual.
That scene in Sanditon is well acted +
directed. It is well choreographed--- for
      Victorian dances, several decades later.

  • @tymanung6382
    @tymanung6382 2 года назад +3

    1) Very interesting!!
    2) However, 1 of dance scenes was
several decades too soon for England,
as full waltz was only accepted by most
people after polka in 1840s, though 1800 to 20, some English did landler like version, that borrowed that Austrian dances' arm holds + arm turns + 1 sort of
landler body hold (see landler in Sound
    of Music).
Even Lord Byron, famous libertine (+ many other roles) though that waltz was
    too extreme.

I've watched the series 2 a zillion times and during this dance scene I am surprised Tom Parker did not step in to prevent Charlotte from dancing with Col Lennox - he watches from the sidelines - a bit disappointing having found out in Season 1 his lack of securing insurance changed the future of Sydney and Charlotte - he does nothing to stop Col Lennox from exercising claim on Charlotte.
