    thanks for the video...well done! I am a Locus Map Pro user on an adventure bike that jumped to iphone and so far Gaia seems like the best replacement on ios. The devs of Gaia would be wise to implement some of its features as it is the gold standard in all of this but android only. For years we have complained that lmp still does not import a georeferenced pdf. I heard Gaia is working on that. That would solve your comparo between actual mvum paper map and mvum layer. Right now the work around in lmp is you can simply import a jpeg and hand pin the corners and then the system lines it up and it becomes a layer so you could compare within the app...Gaia needs this. Try that on your wife's android tablet. My personal #1 wish is the ability to adjust line width on the tracks. If you can control line width and the layer order of tracks is very powerful. When 2 tracks are overlayed in Gaia you can't see the one below...line width would allow this. I have ridden almost all of VT and need that feature to keep track.

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures 3 года назад

      I think those are great ideas. I had not heard that they were working on the geo tagged pdf option. That’s the only thing I use Avenza for. It would be awesome if Gaia would allow that.

      Hey Scott. I really need to get up and wheel the Mark Twain National Forest. It's on our list for 2021! As far as routes go, we share all of our tracks and waypoints to our Patreon subscribers. Take a look at that - www.patreon.com/ozarkoverlandadventures - and consider becoming a supporter.

    I watched your videos and created a route successfully!!! however, when I download as a GPX file and open on my lowrance GPS I get thousands of waypoints which compose my route i/o of just a nice clean line. Any thoughts on why this may be? Much appreciated!!! Thank you!!

      I have zero experience with using Lawrence gps devices. I’m not sure. Maybe try exporting as a KML instead?

    • @martinbringas3822
      @martinbringas3822 3 года назад

      @@OzarkOverlandAdventures I tried KML but it doesn't work with Lowrance. I believe it must be a setting I accidentally changed in GAIA as I've never had this happen before.

    Hi. Can you tell the gaiagps website to stop harassing me to sign up for an account? It keeps putting cookies in my browser which requires me to either delete the cookies or open a private browser to actually go to the URL I want to without being harassed. I HATE websites that harass you to sign up - BUG OFF.

    I was using Gaia last night on my iPad and I got this message, "Time Limit" You've reached your limit on Gaia GPS. What does this mean?

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures 4 года назад +2

      I've never heard of that before. Almost sounds like a screen time limit in the parental controls section of your iPad settings. My kids get those messages when they spend too much time in an app.

    Android v iOS? Cons, pros, etc... ?

      It seems to run better on iOS than Android from what I have experienced and heard from Android users.

    The biggest problem with this is how manual it is and the fact you have no idea how difficult any of the roads are.

      The Forest Service doesn't rate their trails. Exploring is part of the fun.

    Beware signing up as you’ll be charged $20 per month and it’s virtually impossible to cancel your account. I don’t even recall how I signed up! No one live to speak to for assistance and no unsubscribe button!

    i might get this app, but unfortunately where i live the national forest road maps are completely inaccurate :(
    unfortunately, they still show national forest roads that were closed 13 years ago and will never be reopened
