I 3d printed a clip for my Dad's golf cart last month. He basically thought I was a wizard 😂 it's because of your videos that I got the confidence to do it. Thanks Morley!
That’s so awesome to hear! Thanks for watching 😊
This is way more of a shout out then I expected it. Thank you 🥹
Thanks for hanging out and giving us a challenge!
@@MorleyKert It was great meeting you both!
@@JTEE3D ayy, you too!
@@MorleyKertkan you build a loft bed please
Thanks for a really fun day!
My pleasure! It was great hanging out :)
I love the guy casually coming in already wearing a microphone acting like it's the first time and be like "Hi Mark!" when noone is called Mark :D
"oh hi mark" a truly Wiseau moment
@@JernD a man of culture
That was me lol
For the coin bank lid, it's called a "living hinge". They are unexpectedly complicated for something so ubiquitous.
and more generally a flexure
4:42 I love how you showed us you messing up here.
As someone who also uses fusion 360 for repairs, I can’t even begin to say how much I related to “bull dozing” over someone’s thought.
Whenever you are excited to get on a project, you’d be surprised by how much your mind tunes out the information it needs.
It’s so important to slow down and just listen.
Thanks Morley
12:47 a TV remote battery cap is exactly what i thought of when i saw the needed detail lol
You know how small lost parts have a tendency to re-emerge once you’ve got a replacement? Just print a replacement part, and you’ll not only find the original part, you also have a spare!
Sometimes its not about the repair its listening to what the client is after, but if no errors are made how can we learn. You need to collab with Matt more.
This is my favorite part of your videos ,not really for the free part ,I like it because you can show people how useful is the 3D print , I like to see their surprise and smiles when they realize how good it is and I love how you help others. Good job. Talking about 3d print I'm gonna teach a little course about ir in my University ,so wish me luck!
Good luck! Thanks for watching😊
I follow Matt since the park bench stuff, i love what he does, he's a cool dude.
I printed a gear that spin’s landing lights on a single engine plane! My dad works on them and explained that they’re meant to break if they get bound up so the actual motors don’t overheat and break. He was looking at $$$ for each of them because the planes aren’t made anymore so replacement parts are expensive.
If the coin lid fails down the track, reprint it sideways and it will probably be stronger due to the layer lines working with the flex not against it.
I came from Matt's video.
That was great,
Thanks Mark
:)
THAT’S MY UNI!!!
I do this sort of stuff for my family & friends and it's so satisfying being able to repair/create objects for them. Love this type of content!
What a fun idea. The coin cover could have been designed several different ways. A slide lock wedge could have worked. The typewriter was neat to see your design of the cover as the owner mentioned.
All that and a bonus Tim Hunkin interlude!
Oh, hi Mark! Great video with interesting problems to solve. Small hinges and springy lock thingys are some of the most common plastic parts to break, while being hard(ish) to repair properly.
Great job, Mark!
That one guy going "Hi Mark!" giving strong The Room energy
I actually subscribe to both channels. It is interesting to see the differences in the videos.
Wonderful video. I'm keeping my eye on that Mellow Labs guy, dude's got legs
hopefully its stays nice and sunny for you
Nice work Morley! These are some of my favorite videos! I am also into CAD/3D Printing so I know that what you and Matt did here takes a ton of skill and more importantly "thinking on the spot".
Ah Morley, and Matt! You need to takea stall at the next Makers Central and do a walk in repair session :)
speaking with new people who never been exposed to 3d printing and seeing their eyes light up will never get old! I had an IT/ISP come in to my house and see what i was doing. and thought it was so cool. loved the idea of lithophanes and how they looked.
I Love that you do these.
Have a great day.
Patrick
Maybe it’s because of being in Canada and England, but growing up in the US, that battery cover clip is such a common thing that I was confused it took y’all any time to figure out how to fix that.
the same supply chains go to all 3 countries. they also use the same size batteries as we do! i think morley just hadnt thought much about the design of them, they're so ubiquitous but you normally never need to consider it.
I was so surprised I couldn’t find anything with one on it!
You stopped by Tim Hunkin's arcade! Brilliant!
Love it! Genius both of u!
What a brilliant idea.
Thanks Jesper 😊
Haha, we will 3d print a lanyard clip for you, but attaching it... you glue it on your own!
This looks so recognisable. It is so satisfying to design a part that succesfully repairs something! My most recent accomplisment is repairing my blender by printing a cog for it.
the people sliding at 3:24
this is hands down my favorite series of yours
Love your videos !!! Your pallet ideas are inspiring
for the typewriter, you could have googled it to get an idea of the original cover, just one other thing, i really like your channel, and i live in Toronto
Repair Cafe is my favorite series on this channel! Good stuff!
Great video, fixing people's stuff is such a satisfying thing. It really makes peoples day.
i love this series so much probably my favorite yet
I love these videos! Keep em coming dude!
These videos are fun and inspiring.
great job, mark!
love this series !
i love when you fix things. That is why I subscribed. I have done a few fixes for friends but I am not quite up to your level yet.
Great video. It would be cool to see you do this with youth and get them to understand that things can be fixed and made instead of thrown away. Keep up the good work
Of course visiting Tim Hunkin!
Love your videos man
Any buddy of Mat gets my subs
Great film, love all the B roll shots. Makes me want to travel...you're on track to be the Anthony Bourdain of Maker World. Mahalo for sharing! : )
You are so talented. Hope someday in the future, I can be there to print with you and help more people. This is Lydia from Shenzhen China.
been waiting for this video, was a real shame i was at work the day you was doing your repairs, would have been great to say hi
Very cool
Beautiful amazing doston ❤
Repair Party!!
Instead of gluing the broken Switch part, it might have been better to weld it with acetone, since it is made of ABS.
Hi Morley, I own a Creality 3D printer which I believe is an Ender brand. Having trouble with project sticking to the glass. After I seen this video I think a thin flexible polycarbonate sheet with texture would work attached to top of glass? I’ve seen one like you used as a cheap mouse pad I think? Your thoughts would be much appreciated
if i knew you were in london i would have loved to drop by and say hi you have inspired me to delve into 3d printing more and wanted to thank you for it in person damnit haha
edit: now you hearted my comment?? well if youre still in london i dont mind taking a day off and coming to say hi (i work as a senior 3d artist and would love to pick your mind in terms of design)
You’ve got to try and make your own skateboard that would be a awesome learning experience for your wood working and skating probably !🎉
Totally!
Would anyone know what type of print material would be good for using as a mold for epoxy product pouring? I’m thinking a consistency like that of silicone would be best as long as the epoxy can cure in the mold and be released from the mold preferably without mold release.
I wonder, what is the best kind of 3d printer for beginners? FIllament or the liquid stuff (if that's what it is)?
Crossover!!
Great vid! That Bambu Labs X1 Carbon has me jealous
Matt needs an alice band. XD
London looks like its busting of health and riches
come to the midlands its a s***hole compared see were

not to be an a55hole but could you maybe lower the music for us with headphones. love your work
man went to london but wont come one town over to fix my ender 3 smhmyhead jk jk

Why is it that Americans/Canadians always say “London, England”.
You do realise that outside of the sporting world “England” isn’t a country(check the UN definition of a country and yo7 will see that as England doesn’t have its own parliament it’s technically not a country- the parliament in London is for the whole of the U.K. not specifically England whereas Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland all have their own separate individual parliaments) ? And most of us say we’re from the U.K. not England right?
there are a few things here i can think of. one, us americans are always trying to get the political and geographic divisions over there right and be really careful and might overcorrect. nobody wants to say ireland is part of the UK or refer to the UK as "great britain" and be laughed at. two, we're used to referring to "richmond virginia", "portland oregon", dallas texas" etc and so we're used to the flow of a second place name shaped like a word and not an acronym like US/UK. to my ears it sounds weird to say that for very large internationally known cities like los angeles ("los angeles california" sounds bizarre) but i definitely hear people do it even for really big cities. three, theres an interesting parallel where europeans say 'america' far more than they say 'the US' but for americans it's often the other way around.
Hey, that's @mellow_labs!
