The show has remained a touchstone of my childhood though, and I've watched it on and off through the years. And yes, David Tennant is a particular favourite. I absolutely love Ncuti as the new Doc and hope he gets to wear a kilt often. And twirl, often. He brings a joyful force of nature to the world and I can't wait to see the new series. For interests sake, a Canadian, Sydney Newman originated the kernel idea of Dr Who and The Avengers (not the Marvel ones) and you might want to google articles on him. I can't post links here. I don't dislike the guy as the doctor. On the other hand, I hate the writers with all my heart. As someone who has loved this show since I was 11 or 12 years old, they stopped writing Doctor Who stories a while ago and now it's just space + time + virtue signaling + goofy shenanigans 🤪... Not the story of the greatest protagonist in television history, a lonely timelord who fights his pain with doing good for those around him, and doing great things for the sake of the greater good. One of the most ambitious and yet relatable characters ever. You decided your target audience was bigots, and decided to abandon them, when the reality is that we are just regular people, who care about a good story.
I love his portrayal of Eric in Sex Education. He is phenomenal in it and what a brilliant series! And what a joy to have him as the new Doctor. We all have our favourite doctors and he will be one of mine for sure. I am in my late 60s and have watched Dr Who since the 70s (in those days, it was shown on CBC I believe). And although I am not a Whovian, I do love the show and was absolutely thrilled when they resurrected it with Christopher Eccleston et al. Wishing this new Doctor and his companion many wild and outrageous adventures. I will happily accompany them on this wild ride. Btw, love the new Tardis design! I am so bloody excited about Fifteen! Ncuti is a force of nature, an amazing, amazing actor and I'm so proud of a Fife boy making such an impact! 🏴 Can't wait for the next six Saturdays.

I've watched A LOT of interviews with Ncuti, not just now for Doctor Who but from earlier parts of his career as well, lots of those were great interviews. this ISN'T one of them 😒. something about this interviewer feels like he's digging for dirt, like a typical journo trying to find something juicy to sensationalize.👎

Ncuti Gatwa is huge are you mad? Sex education was a hit, as well as the fact he was in Barbie. He's proved himself as a really versatile actor who can play dark and emotional as well as joyous. I think you're butt hurt by this casting for no reason. Give it a chance. It's a show about change and it's changing with the times
