It's easy. Brush them everyday, but don't wash them everyday. Use only stinging nettle shampoo and absolutely avoid women's hair products (might just be me, chemicals give me a rash, crappy natural shampoos don't). And that's it. I haven't cut my hair since 2013 and it's now touching my butt.
@@luckyturtle6449 Regular drugstores or supermarkets. It's a common plant in my country so there's all kind of products. But you'll be fine with any kind of "natural" shampoo I think. The point is to avoid irritating chemicals.
It’s more towards mainstream clothing stores selling metal shirts. H&M, Berschka, etc. People like the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus,.. wear band shirts and mainstream stores see it as a ‘trend’ and the people buying it just think like ‘hey a cute graphic tee’ without giving further thought to it. And when you call them out some of them don’t even realize it’s a band.
I like that there isn't really a specific way that metalheads are supposed to dress specifically women. I literally wore my hair in a barrel roll with a black pinup style dress, a pentacle necklace, classic pinup makeup, with a black hair flower and black combat boots to see belphegor and dark funeral this past spring. It was a great show. I feel like some subcultures put too much emphasis on what you look like.
THANK YOU!!!!! I am so glad that someone finally said it. I get so tired of these pop artists selling their souls for fame overnight and then making it a statement of some kind.
I went shopping with a female family member and we went into Supre (an Australian women's fashion store) and they had denim jackets with Metallica patches on them. I was a little bit disappointed.
Metal is purely passion, and it’s only fashion when backed up by an intense love for metal music. It’s purely fashion to those like the Jenners/Kardashians
Does a person wearing a Slayer, Metallica or Maiden shirt that has no clue of the bands music and history bother me? Not a bit. Does another person that would rather hear say... pop-county ,the latest pop star and radio rap ( the auto-tuned stuff where they mumble and sound much alike) and say metal is trash but wears a battle vest with a Venom backpack and black metal patches bother me? No. It doesn't effect my favorite metal bands sound , nor does it harm me in any physical way. Its f'ing garments or denim etc . With ink screen printed on it. There , to me, are more important things in our own lives to enjoy instead of hate on.
I believe it doesn’t matter at all how you dress as long as you love the music. I could wear a aqua blue Polo and khaki shorts and still listen to Sabbath, Priest, Deicide so on and so forth. That being said I do put some effort into my outfits. Do I wear black denim or blue denim today? What kind of wash? My mood usually dictates the band Tee I will be pairing with it. Will it be NWOBHM, or one of my favorite Black Metal bands? Do I want to attract attention or go low key. As we know many metal shirts are pretty provocative and some are more conservative. What footwear will be paired with the fit? Will it be Nike high tops or some Rattlesnake skin boots. Then if the weather permits outerwear is a concern. Will it be a leather motorcycle jacket, maybe a hoodie and denim jacket combo, no more battle vests for me as I’ve gotten to the age where it would just look like I’m trying much too hard to look cool. Then accessories may come into play. Do I want to wear some rings, maybe a necklace or two. Sunglasses, chain wallet or slick. Headwear may be a factor for some. What baseball cap can I match with my outfit, maybe just a beanie, maybe today I go without and just let the hair make others jealous. Lol joke. Well I’ve babbled on long enough. Obviously I enjoy my fashion as well as my metal and hard rock. I find it enjoyable putting together a classic and / or eye catching outfit to rep what I love. Up the Irons. Live to Win. Stay heavy!!
Correction: Goths DON'T always have to appear in makeup. Same with punks. Sometimes they're visible and sometimes they're not. What makes a person a metalhead, goth, punk, or some form of an industrialist is the fact that they listen to that specific genre and, therefore, participate in its subculture by going to concerts/festivals, buying the music, etc.. Meaning, the fashion aspect is highly secondary because these underground subcultures are MUSIC-based and not fashion-based. I've seen metalheads with short hair, goths with no makeup, and punks with no mohawks. They're just as equal within their subcultures as those who choose to look the part. What cancels a person out of a subculture is when they chose to look a certain way, identify with its stereotypical label, but they don't listen to the music that corresponds with that subculture. An example of that would be the channel: HeavyMetalMomma. In her words, she "identifies as goth" but her "music taste is metalhead". The reality is that she doesn't listen to anything from either genres. She may appear that way, but she's really a poser more than anything because she is fashion-driven and has no passion/knowledge for either of those genres. Therefore, she's not a goth and nor a metalhead even though she insists on labeling herself as such. As the saying goes: "Punks listen to punk, metalheads listen to metal, and goths listen to goth. And, the music is not going anywhere."
i think we tend to be too childish and mob-like when a clueless person wears band shirts they know nothing about. also, women have muuuuch more options in edgy fashion. with men, i find that there is a fine line thats easily crossed between: normal af dude and model (tm). i think a sort of level of vanity has something to do with it (aka: being very aware of your fashion choices, curating a specific look, wanting to always take photos), that's not a bad thing though, if it brings someone confidence. due to my study program, i can't wear the nicer clothes i have (the goth branded ones), because it might get ruined (i use power-tools almost daily in school). so i tend to not be noticed as much. :') however i like dressing up, like when i go to shows or events. regardless, i will always enjoy the music. it's bonded into me. :) i don't think someone must have THE specific look going on 24/7 to be taken seriously... for example i like wearing athletic clothes more than leather. :)
Don't put down someone who doesn't know that the shirt they're wearing is from a band, just give them some background knowledge and the genre of the band and recommend them an album
Being a Metalhead is like being a Biker. It's a lifestyle choice IMO. There is a serious level of dedication to it and to see somebody wear a Maiden tee and not even know who they are just pisses me the fuck off. Loved Gary Holt's "Kill the Kardashians" tee.
I don't like to dress overboard. In the winter I wear all black, jeans, band shirt, high tops or doc Martin's, spiky studded battle vest, leather jacket usually with the vest over it, tattoos, and a mjolnir necklace. That's about as far as I go. I never cared for the giant spiky war gauntlets or anything like that or wearing patches on all my clothes like pants and hats. Most of the time, especially in the summer I dress pretty plain with just a band shirt and acid wash jeans.
Here in Australia, metal as fashion has more or less passed as a fad. The vast majority of people I see wearing metal band tees look like they're actual fans of the music, although I can't be 100% sure of course. I saw a guy on my train wearing a Behemoth shirt once. I nodded, smiled and discreetly showed him the horns. And, sure enough, he reciprocated with the horns - that to me indicates a true fan. With regard to Face Book, I think they owe you an explanation.
being a girl, it's kind of uncomfortable to wear a "mainstream" metal band shirt like maiden or metallica because all the "tRVe mEtALhEaD gUyS" tend to look down on you and doubt you *really* listen to metal
If you think you HAVE to wear band shirts to be a metalhead go check out Goatwhore. Ben is almost always in a basic black shirt and jeans. Does that make him not a metalhead?
It’s the shirt vest belts gauntlets and in black metal corpse paint all together that’s the fashion statement and at least I know people to do corpse paint every day
Generally speaking, to be a fan of metal largely requires a lot of music listening or liking it (music that is), due to having to get used to it. Although there are some who can listen to Cannibal Corpse and Death from the get-go, metal mostly has to be sought out. This isn't elitism so much as just stating that because metal isn't often exposed to people, it isn't as common to be a metal fan.
Personally, I haven't seen anyone wearing "metal attire" other than people who listen to metal. That being said, I grew up in southern Missouri and now live in Kansas. I have seen people claim to like metal bands who really don't, and we would make up bands just to fuck with them
That Savatage shirt is bangin! Also in regard to pop music shirts, I own a Michael Jackson shirt and a Prince shirt, but that's it. Surprisingly, no one has said a word to me when I wore the MJ shirt in public during the time Leaving Neverland was trendy.
At a pop or rap festival such as Glastonbury here in England you don’t really see anyone with band merchandise but at metal festivals every single person there has band merch.
You’re a great guy, really enjoy your content. Keep it up! Edit: never have I seen a person wearing a band shirt without actually listening and liking the band
I put it like this, Metal heads are passionate about the music some of which partake in the fashion aspect others don't. Some don't even wear bandshirts others wear battle vests with like 100s of patches and band shirts camo pants. Now I've seen people with battle vests and didn't know any of the music from any of the patches but these are rare.
The band tee trend has pretty much died out in the fashion world. Yes some people still do it but it’s fading out. The way I see things is that if they are wearing it then they are advertising the band and that’s not a bad thing. Hell, they might even start listening to the band or have other people listen to them just by looking at the logo or design and give them a try. If they don’t then who cares. People are free to do whatever. In the metal scene we can’t be dicks to people who may be “posers”. Let people wear what they want even if they’re mega fans or not. I wear shirts of bands I like a couple of songs of and not really a fan of but I liked the design and the band is fucking dope so I wear the shirt.
A. Od-Reszki I don’t think you’re a poser at all. You like music from the band and you’re supporting them by having their patch. You don’t have to know a whole bands discography to wear a shirt or rock a patch. To be honest I would wear a patch or shirt from a band I like only one song from.
Most people I have seen wearing metalhead attire, have been metalheads. From my experience it's generally rare to see someone dressing that way who doesn't like the music. Now if we're talking about music subcultures were they're a lot who just wear the fashion, but don't like the music. Goth is one of those. Being part of both music subcultures, goth has a very large percent of people who dress that way for the look, rather than for the love of the music.Though luckily most of those types stay out of the clubs, and gigs.

I love my band shirts that’s all I wear along with my battle jacket. To be able to represent your favorite bands on shirts and patches is fucking awesome even if no one knows who they are. I just have such a strong passion for the music. And of course there’s always those dicks who wear the shirts but have no clue what they are, but what are you gonna do. P.S Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Richard Cristy did the drumming for Death’s: The Sound Of Perseverance
Its both. I like metal, but you wouldn't know it by looking at me. I dont wear black band shirts(black in general really) or spikes, or "battle vests". I wear plaid cargo shorts and t shirts. But there is no doubt tons if passion for metal.
Passion no doubt. Goes for horror equally as much as metal. This stuff means a lot to us. I do love making and wearing my battle jackets and wearing all my metal and horror shirts, but all that stuff is secondary.
The problem lies in the fact that metal isn't an underground subculture anymore. Just look at some of these Soundcloud rappers that can wear shirts of Possessed and people hail them as some messiah for mixing the two worlds. It's a problem with people trying to be more accepting, when in reality metal wasn't based on that at all contrary to what people want to believe. Sure, there was more of a camaraderie between bands, but outsiders were not welcome. And we should reclaim that behavior.
It is harder for me to cut down on wearing band t-shirts than it was to quit smoking or drinking. I'm 45 and I am trying to look age appropriate at least some of the time. Fuck It...Metal 4 Life!!!
For me it’s 100% a passion. I’m the most vanilla looking, classic style white guy you’ll ever meet. I have short hair, and I wear plain T-shirts and blue jeans 95% of the time. I rarely even wear band shirts, though I own many from supporting bands over the years. I don’t know….my favorite outfit is blue jeans and a plain black shirt with nothing on it. I have no interest in the fashion side of it. I’m from a VERY small rural, rancher type of town in Texas. People assume I’m a country music guy(I do love the classics, don’t get me wrong) but I typically know more about metal than most of the long haired, battle vest wearing guys I meet. I only ever even got into to metal thanks to the internet and some guys on a videogame forum being very helpful in recommending music.
As someone who (unfortunately) owns no metal merch I can say Metal is not just a fashion thing, it's passion more than anything. Metalheads are the most passionate people ever. I can't stand pop and rap music at all. I only listen to Metal, Rock, and Punk and wouldn't have it any other way
For 2019, I wear the bands I seen this year: Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Judas Priest, Goatwhore, got my ticket for Slayer, and Morbid Angel, Watain, Incantation in a few days. \m/
For passion & fashion, if you don't know the band and just buy a shirt because of its logo or something like that... As for that "former warning now recommendation", that's the kind of thing that after the first listening you might be meh on it, but that your opinion might change over time and/or a more thorough listening. We all go through that, at one time or another, so don't feel shitty about it.
Punker here. Like you with metal, I'm very passionate about punk music and it's the kind of subject I'd talk about 24/7, lol. Heavy metal's good though :)
I've been a Sabbath fan, Since their Ozzy Days As far as Fashion goes: I still wear what we wore when I was growing up Jeans& A T shirt The guy who pays $300 for a black shirt is paying for the label & not the clothes
I'm a Doom head through and through and I literally wear jeans and a black or gray shirt. I never found the point to wearing all the extra shit. I've literally never worn a band shirt a day in my life.

The only brand I've seen exploit the scene for fashion only purposes is Vetements. Although I don't remember the exact reasoning behind it, the 2017 total fucking darkness hoodie they made was directly inspired by the Cradle of Filth album, which actually is the reason I listened to it in the first place lol I do remember seeing Demna liking the band in the first place so that's probably why.
U tell the truth of metal history of rock bro The passion of metal change my life when I was in high school my first band was evanescence’s and motionless in white
Both.I just wear a plain black t shirt and sometimes my metallica t shirt(that's the only band shirts that I have, alongside with the beatles and avenged sevenfold shirts, because my mom wouldn't approve it if I bought a megadeth t shirt or a suicidal tendencies shirt)and a blue jean and a sandal.Sometimes,I wish an adult would come and approach me,talking about metal when he sees my t shirt, but with no luck.I have no metalhead friends but posers who listens to slipknot and calling them a black metal band. That really pisses me off,but I have nothing against slipknot,it's just those kids who just take metal for granted and they listened to them just to look edgy and cool to be a part in the metal community.I told them, looking cool doesn't make you a part of this community,it's passion that makes you a part of this community. So that was it

Man, stop talking and share your hair care routine already?
Fucking this. His hair looks better than mine ffs. Lmao
@@jebemtigolaz where do you get your stinging nettle shampoo from?
@@luckyturtle6449
Regular drugstores or supermarkets. It's a common plant in my country so there's all kind of products. But you'll be fine with any kind of "natural" shampoo I think. The point is to avoid irritating chemicals.
I use coconut oil
It’s more towards mainstream clothing stores selling metal shirts. H&M, Berschka, etc. People like the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus,.. wear band shirts and mainstream stores see it as a ‘trend’ and the people buying it just think like ‘hey a cute graphic tee’ without giving further thought to it. And when you call them out some of them don’t even realize it’s a band.
Both?
I love metal, but I love to dress with my favorite band shirts/hoodies & all
Same
I like that there isn't really a specific way that metalheads are supposed to dress specifically women.
I always found it weird that metalheads made clothing files. Its making rules for a lifestyle that doesn't give a shit about the rules.
I love metal and I love fashion so I just combine both
THANK YOU!!!!!
Who the fuck is jenner
Metal is an eternal passion. Power to life, killer of sadness, door of eternal good life.
Metal is feeling of life.
Metal is in your heart. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
AMEN
FACTS!!!! 👍
Dude, you speak pure truth.
As the saying goes:
"Punks listen to punk, metalheads listen to metal, and goths listen to goth. And, the music is not going anywhere."
Dig the Savatage shirt.
God damnit I love my metal scene
Metal isn’t a fashion. It’s such a passion for some it becomes a life style. For me I would say it’s a life style, punk is a super close second.
i think we tend to be too childish and mob-like when a clueless person wears band shirts they know nothing about.
also, women have muuuuch more options in edgy fashion. with men, i find that there is a fine line thats easily crossed between: normal af dude and model (tm). i think a sort of level of vanity has something to do with it (aka: being very aware of your fashion choices, curating a specific look, wanting to always take photos), that's not a bad thing though, if it brings someone confidence.
due to my study program, i can't wear the nicer clothes i have (the goth branded ones), because it might get ruined (i use power-tools almost daily in school). so i tend to not be noticed as much. :') however i like dressing up, like when i go to shows or events. regardless, i will always enjoy the music. it's bonded into me. :)
i don't think someone must have THE specific look going on 24/7 to be taken seriously... for example i like wearing athletic clothes more than leather. :)
Honestly if would see me in public you wouldn't think I listen to metal.
Haha same I am an undercover metalhead
Being Asian people think I listen to kpop, boy they are so wrong ahahahhah
Same here. Although my hair is long and I keep my 1 month beard "look."
The fashion is a side effect of our crack-like addiction to merchandise. It’s Metal Economics 101.
Metal is my attitude, my way....my passion, since I was a teenage! Long live!
Don't put down someone who doesn't know that the shirt they're wearing is from a band, just give them some background knowledge and the genre of the band and recommend them an album
Honestly Metallica is just a fashion brand at this point
That's a sad reality
Sad but true
Metalhead Kangaroo I see what u did there
Hey, wait a minute! :-)
I kinda lost respect for Metallica, one because all the posers rep their shirts for nothing, and the fact of their collaboration with lady gaga
Being a Metalhead is like being a Biker. It's a lifestyle choice IMO. There is a serious level of dedication to it and to see somebody wear a Maiden tee and not even know who they are just pisses me the fuck off. Loved Gary Holt's "Kill the Kardashians" tee.
Pretty much I wear black jeans, black and white converse and a band shirt
In terms of being passionate
1. Metal
2. Punk
3. Goth
4. Rap
5. All of the others
Black Sabbath and Motörhead aren’t even around anymore and ppl still wish they could see them play today
Its a passion first, but because its such a huge passion to me it did also affect my fashion
being a girl, it's kind of uncomfortable to wear a "mainstream" metal band shirt like maiden or metallica because all the "tRVe mEtALhEaD gUyS" tend to look down on you and doubt you *really* listen to metal
Well they can think what they want right? Just wear what u want.
@@Howtobebetterrr yup ! Just a bit tired to be mansplained about metalcore by 10th graders
I just noticed that Midnight poster in the bottom right corner. Fuckin badass!
I love this channel and have begun my passionate journey into the world of metal. Keep up the good work man
Personally, I haven't seen anyone wearing "metal attire" other than people who listen to metal. That being said, I grew up in southern Missouri and now live in Kansas.
I have seen people claim to like metal bands who really don't, and we would make up bands just to fuck with them
Gauntlets, bracelets, necklaces, and even chokers I kinda consider fashion, but it's also part of what we all enjoy.
I will say some rap fans are really passionate fr but it's very few
That Savatage shirt is bangin!
Also in regard to pop music shirts, I own a Michael Jackson shirt and a Prince shirt, but that's it. Surprisingly, no one has said a word to me when I wore the MJ shirt in public during the time Leaving Neverland was trendy.
can you turn a regular cheap black hoodie into a metal jacket with the patches? Would that not be a battle jacket? I'm actually asking seriously.
Maybe next video could be about bands you didn't like but like now and what make you change your opinion.
Facebook has been fucking up a lot here lately. Put me in jail for a week. Plus they have been randomly banning my friends
At a pop or rap festival such as Glastonbury here in England you don’t really see anyone with band merchandise but at metal festivals every single person there has band merch.
You get my like for that Mjollnir necklace of yours. And your magnificent facial hair of course.
Wear what you like man, I wear the bands I support and love, along with some athleasure. Comfy and shows my passions.
Relates to my phrase
Rock n roll isn't a trend, it's a community
Is there too much immaturity within the Rock & Metal community?
Yes
Had a friend that liked country music and i showed him Myr by Taake and he liked Taake ever since
You’re a great guy, really enjoy your content.
*i only like human waste and early albums
I have a Suffocation patch because i love Human Waste and early albums. Am i a "poser"?
A. Od-Reszki
I don’t think you’re a poser at all. You like music from the band and you’re supporting them by having their patch. You don’t have to know a whole bands discography to wear a shirt or rock a patch. To be honest I would wear a patch or shirt from a band I like only one song from.
@@royruckus the best example is morbid angel. I'm sure that 90% people with morbid angel merch don't like new stuff
I see Nirvana and Metallica t-shirts so often even few years ago at School and the people mostly just know the bands but don't listen to them
I love metal but I also love fashion
The passion of krieg
A Mel Gibson movie
Savatage?great shirt Matey!!!have u been through a 70K cruise yet?gotta do it!tenth year will be 2020.the lack of alcohol on the 1$t cruise was epic!we all drank the boat dry!so now I use camocap's.make sure you smuggle 4 to 5 times whatever you want to drank on broad.i had over 2500ml in plastic flask's duct taped to my body, just in case the 95% moonshine and the 80% STROH was confiscated?! you'll get your bottles back the last day of the cruise.but, you can bring any mixer's u desire on broad.if they happen to be full of spirit's?then free pop and juice is all 1 might need?!
Most of the people I see with Metal T-shirts are posers And then the other 25% are my friends
Life mode ... this music is for ever not for a fucking one moment.
I’m praying that you get your Facebook page back
It is harder for me to cut down on wearing band t-shirts than it was to quit smoking or drinking. I'm 45 and I am trying to look age appropriate at least some of the time. Fuck It...Metal 4 Life!!!
Richard "rusty" christy was also a drummer for death. That blew my mind for some reason when I first noticed.
Yeah I noticed that too
For me it’s 100% a passion.
Is it weird to wear my bracer and battle jacket out?
Nope, but if you're gonna wear something, wear it like you mean, with confidence.
Great video! Random question do punks and metal heads not get along still? Back in the day I know they didn't. Idk jw
Lover your videos :) what song is played in the intro?? Greetings from Germany/Bavaria
Hippie music has a huge following as well...especially the Deadheads and anyone alive for Woodstock.
Punker here. Like you with metal, I'm very passionate about punk music and it's the kind of subject I'd talk about 24/7, lol. Heavy metal's good though :)
I've been a Sabbath fan, Since their Ozzy Days
As far as Fashion goes: I still wear what we wore when I was growing up
Jeans& A T shirt
The guy who pays $300 for a black shirt is paying for the label & not the clothes
I'm a Doom head through and through and I literally wear jeans and a black or gray shirt. I never found the point to wearing all the extra shit. I've literally never worn a band shirt a day in my life.
Keep up the great wotk mate
I live in my fucking vest!!!!!!
Black Metal Werewolf, I lost my FB account .. which was deleted .... for no aparent reason that was given...
I Appealed it ,but to no avail... I have n't had a EB Account for over Six Months now !
U tell the truth of metal history of rock bro
The passion of metal change my life when I was in high school my first band was evanescence’s and motionless in white
yeah nice
Another super intersting video!
So that was it
What is that intro music though? It's awesome
You should really do some album reviews
Only time will tell. Im 40 and still going strong but many friends no longer listen to metal.
How do you find James hetfields' dressing style?
