  • In his talk, Philippe Guinot - Country Program Director at PATH - explains how an NGO called PATH went from a small idea about contraceptives in Asia, to a big player in an ecosystem that solves today’s greatest health challenges. Philippe believes that, through close collaboration, PATH and its ecosystem partners can ensure that people have access to the best possible devices at a price they can afford. Philippe explains how PATH operates on five platform levels: 1) Developing and distributing of vaccines; 2) developing systems for diagnostics; 3) developing (innovative) drugs; 4) developing medical devices; and 5) strengthening of the health system. Some challenges are tackled by using either one of these platforms, such as the strengthening of the health system around the LGBT community. Other challenges require all platforms to combat the issue, such as Malaria.
