  • Armand Duplantis broke his own pole vault world record at the Diamond League in Xiamen, China, clearing 6.24m. Duplantis bettered his previous mark of 6.23m set at the Eugene Diamond League finale in September, clearing the bar with ease before leaping up off the sponge mat below and racing off in celebration at his first outdoor event of the year. It is the eighth time that Duplantis has broken the world record, and the 24-year-old was the only man to clear six metres at the Egret Stadium.

What an athlete. He is putting the achievements of the great Sergei Bubka in the shade. Armand is doing for the pole vault what Usain Bolt did for the 100m/200m. The question now is what is the length limit for a safe pole? Unlike other events, this one must have a limit that is coming soon.

Amazing how it is when someone breaks the world record in athletics like this over and over again. After a few records people just stop caring about it as much and does not give the credit where it's due.

Speak for yourself. Every world record in Track and Field is special. Some last for decades others may be bettered within minutes, but they’re all brilliant.

he doesn't breaks the WR time and time again, he gets a bonus every time he breaks it, he knew he could jump higher earlier, why break the record by 10cm when you can break it by 1-2 cm multiple times and get an expensive watch or cash every time.

Sarcasms aside (truly). Have your cake and eat it too Mondo..! You 'know' you could add 10cm to that height and you'd still clear it with relative ease, but the spectacle (and the money) would stop right there wouldn't it? Much more fun doing it the way you're doing it Mondo... You got the bull by the horns..., You can twist its neck at will..! Cheers champ..!

The swedish people I bet, what swede would want a half American represent Sweden if he did not know anything about Sweden, never spent time in Sweden and speak no swedish? He don't represent Sweden for nothing now does he. Obvious because he's half swedish and because he WANT to represent Sweden. You are very immature to root against a guy for being half american or born american.
