Ryan has a great point about Alim McNeil; his PFF grade is 88.5, which must put him in the top 10 DI defenders. Unless he totals flops, which I doubt, he will likely be extended next off season, as well he should be.
I don't understand why everyone is tripping about the nickel like there is a battle. Branch is the Nickel. Everyone else is competing for backup. Branch will be playing more safety, but he will ne the third safety as he will probably back up both players. But we play Nickel a lot. So there will be snaps for everyone since they only need to play 40-50 snaps a game and can stay fresh.
I agree, I can't see them not starting iffy and Joseph and having branch at nickel and Davis and arnold at outside corners. I'd be shocked if it plays out any other way
@dereckdunckel I do see a comp between Robertson and Arnold. I think Robertson can get him, but Arnold is a first rounder for a reason. But even if it ends up Davis and Arnold, having Robertson as a rotational third will be nice. This DB room is what they have always wanted, or at least closest they have come. Studs 4 deep that excel at man coverage with versatile safeties and CBs to cover the nickel. Let's see Glenn cook!
@brandonkerr60 I think robertson will play alot too, damn near the whole defense is deep now
@dereckdunckel If Paschal takes a step, Houston improves, and we get anything out of Betts, the DE/Edge room will by productively deep as well. Here's to hope.
@@brandonkerr60 I agree. Branch may be one of the best Nickle corners in the game. I think his PFF grade was 77. Also, his intangibles are amazing. I can't imagine starting anyone else at Nickle.
Lomas Brown deserves some recognition. Heck, Ragnow is earning some votes. Then you got older players: Bobby Layne, Alex Karras, Lem Barney. That's a tough one 😅

Letting turner go tells me that the lions care about both the position and the player. Even if turner was winning the ota battle what does that really say about real life NFL game ability? The lions know badgley. They've seen what bates did in real football, granted with lower stakes, but real football. The lions know the veteran badgley will go on practice squad and not be poached. You wouldn't want rookie Turner to get called up in an emergency. And the lions did turner a real favor. Packers kicking situation is bad. He could really compete for the job

bad take on wanting Ken Holland to win a Cup with Edmonton lastnight Matt, guy left this franchise an absolute graveyard thanks to his mismanagement in the years leading to his departure. Wings are still bad and will be worse nexty ear when Kane and Ghostispere leave. Glad he lost.

You guys are amazing; I can't believe that you are still wondering whether or not, the Lions should have a kicker that can hit 50 yarders at the end of a game. You basically answered the question by referring to the Championship game and the likelihood that Campbell didn't trust Badgley to hit a long field goal on grass. IF Campbell had Justin Tucker, let's say, do you think he would have attempted the kick with the game on the line? Campbell is a gambler but he isn't stupid...I give up...I guess you guys need something to talk about...
