Good on Giles for showing safety in wearing his helmet for all motor running sequences. Please all use a helmet when the motor is started/running. Excellent first vid Paul.
I love the honesty and touches of humor of your vids. This has me getting hyped back up for training again... This was supposed to be the year for me. That EOS purr is very nice and the power delivery looks great! Maybe it'll be ready by the time I am! 😅👍
Great job gentlemen very informative I feel as if I have a good direction to go looking for a 4-stroke coming off my 185 moster thanks again for putting the time in on this very thorough comparison...👍
Stop whatever I'm doing to watch this! :) Rocking that late 70's 'do dude! I've started with an OpenPPG electric which has power comparable to the Moster185 and the weight of an Atom80 (sans torque, maintenance, and smell). Been drooling for an Atom 80 or something to get flying for real. The electric is nice but the range sucks. Now I want this EOS QUATTRO or a Bailey. 2stroke noise, smell, headaches and maintenance turn me toward a 4 stroke even with the extra weight.
@@PARANOOB Indeed. Someone will probably grab the audio samples from the comparative segment, and turn them into sample playback, for a keyboard, or synth. Might be quite interesting. :)
Great video guys!, thank you for the intensive work you did to bring this simple but effective test on cameras. The idea wasn't mean to compare with other engines/brands of the market, but it is far a good basic approach, at least, to provide some parameters to all those pilots who were wondering if this Eos engine was true or not. The goal now is to be 100% sure that reliability is perfect and once this last stage is confirmed ( after all beta pilots completed their flying tests) then the engine will be available to market. Thing I forgot to mention to Paul: - the Quattro logo was designed in the Uk by Paul Shotan, ( friend and Wasp Partner) and the Q drawing represents the 4 stages on a 4 stroke engine... a "piece of art" ..lol - We are working on a new Hexo frame version that can cope better with the high torque effect of this engine. Nearly there! Good landings all ;) Robert Ferrero
I'm surprised the 4 stroke spooled up quicker than the two stroke. Good to see "Future me" You'll be landing like a butterfly with sore feet soon:) The paramotor musical trio was interesting:) The EOS Quatro is a flipping good engine.
I always land like that! 😆 I think it has the possibility to be a good engine, just needs finishing, and proven reliability. . The Bailey is the product of 15 years work.
Not only does the phone compress the audio but so does RUclips unless you have a music account. You might be able to get an app that give a dB reading? Best video you ever posted, Paul.
Good job guys.. perfect level of detail.. lab tests are all well and good... but real world tests make more sense. Lab test always just give u best cast. A bit like all the false claims u get on cars when they are first released. TOP VID!!! :)
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make these vidz. Its very much appreciated. I'm loving geeking out on the subject or paramotors and grateful there are talented experienced people I can learn from. I have a polini engine on mine and correctly primed, if I dont flood it etc.. its generally a one handed, over the shoulder, pretty effortless start within a pull or 2. Rarely 3 or 4....and I can feel very little in the way of compression. That may be down to the flash starter but I wondered what were the mechanics of the pull starter on each machine .. looked like a 2 hander and quite chunky compression pulls.... is it a direct to flywheel connection type thing?
I am glad it has the fuel accelerator pump on carb like the Baileys as once on your back its sure to start. I do not see the need for the choke unless its for colder countries.
Nice one guys.... I was looking forward to this one, love these GY6 based motors. The higher compression ought to offer a touch more economy than the V5s (all else being equal) but might take a slice out of its lifespan... No biggie as long as its not too large a slice. It will be way too pricy for a mere mortal like me, I have the V2 with enough spares to rebuild from the crank up twice over :)
I like this test. Like you said, it's not scientific but a good comparison. I read it as slightly heavier than a Moster powered machine and comparable if not slightly more power. Eagerly awaiting a fuel consumption rate comparison. I might be more excited about this EOS Quattro than the Thor 202 now.
Great vid really interesting and just going to watch part 2. I do have a question though.... you seem to be walking along a bush laden pathway alot in your videos, where are you going? Just being nosey! :D
Great video, alot of detail and time went into this one, cheers guys. Oh my partner is most disappointed that for some strange reason Paranoob recommendations come up when shes doing her yoga exercises via you tube
That Quattro does sound sweet. It'll be interesting to see their time frame of this coming into final production now they've got a few out there for Beta testing. Sounds like it needs a long flight test for durability, like a looong flight test. Maybe a john o' groats to lands end flight test 😂
Was wondering if anyone’s ever thought about trying one of the small (big for what they are) roc plane engines, like a flat twin 4 stroke on a paramotor. Wonder if that would work. I’m getting into paramotors and will go 4 stroke too. Keep up your vids, cheers Shaun
hi very well edited. because I come from a motocross background. and engines are engines.racing two strokes race engines. then the four-stroke came up in the background. and I decided to but a race four-stroke. and I am well impressed. and I am very bias. as I am round I am British and I do remember the bailey paramotor engines. very little maintenance change the oil filter.and engine oil.and just check over .when things do go wrong .it will take years. then after that. a new engine or repair.paramotors are not race engines.I already know that. paramotors are like cars.all different type of brands. makes etc.to suit the individual. thumbs up ;0). That sound test was AWESOME!!! Great comparison.
I really like 4 strokes. I am excited to own one eventually.
Me too
My, what a high quality, well produced video. Fantastic.
I LOVE that bit of the exhaust on the Moster! 😂😂😂
Found this really useful and informative. Thanks to you both for taking the time to put this together. Great stuff. 👍
Thanks Dan! 👍
Very interesting public service information you are providing. Thank you, and keep it up.
Great stuff chaps. The bathroom scales on the wall......genius!
Nice to see Paul & Giles in a video together again!

That was fun to watch. Thanks guys.
Great review guys! Lots of effort, that is appreciated. Thank you.
Great series! I am very interested. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like Giles was doing vertical push-ups. LOL What a workout!
It was a stressful day. Good job I'm in shape ;)
Mark from Florida here,. Great vid guy's
Nice boots Giles...!
Great video, exciting times! Can't wait for tomorrow.
That blanking plate on the cylinder head is the chain tension not just a blanking plate

I don’t have paramotor due to the FUNDING but I like watching u guys . Maybe one day if I can afford it

Greg if you check Fat paramotor guys comparison for xc flying. They are more or less the same as you take less fuel for same flying on four stroke
Any updates on this project? Is it still going to hit the market?
No idea... you'd have to ask EOS. 👍
Very interesting tests. I actually like the sound of the Bailey engine, the most, followed by the EOS engine. Thanks for sharing.
It's a beautiful noise.

Great video chaps. Sad I missed seeing it in the flesh ☹️ Looking forward to seeing it fly

Man, nicely done. I am thinking of a 4 stroke in my future. Thanks for this.
I am now looking forward to the final cost and weight for the EOS QUATTRO. I want to do a demo flight. It looks great. Thanks for the video guys.
Wow that was interresting,I like these kind of video`s. 👍

Finally found some time for these vids. Tea made and biscuits at the ready. Let’s do this!

2 strokers? I wasn't prepared for such a personal attack 🤣
Not enough strokes! This is a 2x2 stroker vid!
Yea, that's what my ex wife called me!!

All down to the decompressor mechanism. Beyond that, I have no idea.
I am glad it has the fuel accelerator pump on carb like the Baileys as once on your back its sure to start. I do not see the need for the choke unless its for colder countries.
Good job on the testing. May not be laboratory but it give a fair comparison. When is the Wasp coming to USA?

Haha, it's just local footpaths. I like a walk. 👍
Im watching EOS with interest, I will own a 4 stroke motor eventually.
Great video, alot of detail and time went into this one, cheers guys. Oh my partner is most disappointed that for some strange reason Paranoob recommendations come up when shes doing her yoga exercises via you tube
Say hi to her for me.. 😘
Very interesting. You may have possibly converted me to a 4 stroke.
Any idea on cost yet ?
3.5-4k 👍

I think perhaps this engine with a scout airframe might be a perfect combo given the scout's ability to counter the torque given off by the engine.
That very thing is on my wishlist. 👍
Nice

Closest I’ve seen is the Swiss 4 stroke
Doing the thrust test propellers were not perpendicular to the line of action
As said, more a basic comparison than a lab test.. 👍
I thought Scout bought Bailey?
My ideal is a 4 stroke, water cooled, twin cylinder (V for preference), EFI, preferably about 300cc, very quiet
🤔👍
When are you going to take me for a ride? That said, i'm petrified of heights........
Can get you a tandem no probs.. not me though, I'll fly alongside. Strangely, vertigo doesn't kick in on a paramotor.
Like a Miniplane just 10kg heaver lol.
He was expecting Bailey weight, it being a 4 stroke and all.. 👍😉
Am I allowed to comment... Haha
Golf Foxtrot 22 are your arms sore yet? From the thrust test 😂
@@flyingkaiinthesky2917 they were a little. By the 3rd engine and swapping machines, it was a busy few hours.
Yes! PLEASE comment your opinions, Giles. 👍😁👍

@@Chris-Fennimore part 2...you'll have to wait for part 2.
i already want one , please let me borrow one for a year
wasp , please
Quattro needs oil changes way more than once a year. Believe me!
