Loved your video. Super interesting and thank you for doing this in English, much appreciated. (I don’t speak German but I’m so interested in these old parts of Germany)
Greetings. I stumbled onto this video while watching some about WWII and enjoyed exploring with you. I was stationed in Germany during reunification so the East German sites are interesting to me. Excellent English! I visited the Luxembourg American Cemetery last year. Beautiful country.
since you've been to Rangsdorf once, I really recommand Sperenberg / Kummersdorf-Alexanderdorf old Airport and also Bücherstadt Wünsdorf. you can get official tours on both places
I went shopping in East Berlin in 1986. It was amazing. Saw Hitler bunker and the eternal flame. Still have most of my dishes I bought there. We lived in Germany from 72 to 96. Best years of my life. Loved Hanau.😊😊
Yes, I guess you are 1 of the everybody's who own that airport. Loved how you said that, and enjoying the video so far. I just happened to be reading up on WW2 watching videos, and YT sent a link to your feed. Now it appears I must do some research on the areas of Germany where battles were fought as I now realize how little I know about that.
i can understand Germany wants to separate itself from the Nazi's and everything they did, but that is History. should never forget about what happened, or youre doomed to repeat it...
Yes, but at the same time it‘s not right to make newer generations feel like they are guilty while other countries (not all of them) don’t even teach about those times nor care about them, it seems. Take my school (in germany) for example - in 10th grade it is a MUST to go on a trip to Verdun and if you‘re sick you need to go to a doctor and get a paper to confirm that you‘re sick, in order to be excused. I think that germany IS doing enough to avoid the times repeating. Germany is probably one of the ONLY countries to have people so well informed ( at least when they go to school..). I would be worried a lot more about other countries right now…
Germans have never tried to cover up the Nazi past. There are acknowledgements, memorials, signs, information throughout the country; almost too much (the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, for example, still has Nazi shit on full display although the stadium is one of the chief venues for some of the biggest sporting events in Germany). It's possible you don't understand the sheer volume of buildings that were used by both the Nazis and the Soviets, and the fact that a lot of these had been standing and rotting near residential districts for decades. Renovating them isn't erasing the past.
Looks like you don't know sh*t about Germany, Germans and everything related... That's the most ridiculous statement I've read in a while. People are stupid, lol
Go south of Luckenwalde along the rail lines - about an hour - hour and a half on foot - on the east side and you will come to a massive complex of military ruins in the forest. The old theatre building has a bizarre military/children's theatre themed mural as a backdrop to the little stage in the lobby (the actual hall has a completely collapsed roof - very dramatic looking). See it before they tear it all down!
I would really like to know how to find this stuff. I live in germany and i know there is plenty nazi stuff to explore but maps dont show them for obvious reasons.
Love to video very interesting I'd to say thank you for doing it in English as I don't speak German unfortunately but however I do know some German word's. I love your accent I'm trying to work out what it is?
19:10 - that problem is very quick to solve. It's called an attitude adjustment and a whip-back to reality and co-habitation. Some people, somehow, get clouded minds and confused, and begin to think they are the only people on the planet and therefore can behave as they please. But...a quick, good hard beating to the head when no one else is around, fixes that clouded mind and confused attitude very quickly and gets them back into the "living-with-the-rest-of-society" mindset. They are generally very hesitant to go back to their old ways after that free treatment/physical medication that they've received.
Hallo aus Japan! Das verlorene Deutschland, sehr interessant. Schön wie die Natur das Land zurückholt. "I'm not just here, I'm everywhere!" That jerk was probably ex-Stasi. Those military cemeteries always put me in a meditative mood, so many young men snuffed out in the prime of their youth so far from home. Just like those Tatars and Indians, many thousands of Germans who so proudly marched off to war never came back. It reminds me of the brave Ukrainian woman who gave a Russian occupier some sunflower seeds and told him to put them in his pocket so that sunflowers would grow where he fell. It's so hard to believe that many in Europe and the USA yearn for the return or installation of fascism.
Rangsdorf was also the Airfield Von Staufenberg took off with his airplane for his Attentat on Hitler. Nice video Danke Schön, Grüsse aus Die Niederlanden.
Rangsdorf was an important military air travel airfield because it was very close to the Wehrmacht HQ in Zossen/Wünsdorf (another impressive place to visit). It was certainly more populated with Ju-52 than Messerschmidt's. It had scheduled services to Wolfsschanze and other Führer HQs, that's why Stauffenberg used it. The Soviets used it as a heli airfield until they left in the 90's. I remember it always populated with Mi-8s when passing by train.
They obviously didn’t ask people to graffiti inside these buildings, the people jumped the fence at night and did it. Trust me it happens everywhere including my workplace. And we have high fences and cameras too.
A few years ago I visited the villa once owned by Goebbels. The building is locked and secure so nobody can go inside but it's quite easy to see parts of rooms by looking through the windows. The building is in very good condition and remains thankfully, free of any graffiti, possibly due to the fact its not easily located also there is someone living in a nearby property. I believe it was put up for sale at one time but nobody wanted it and now Berlins finance minister has offered to give it away. If nobody takes it on it will be demolished.

I'm going to Berlin in March this year, is there anything abandoned buildings worth exploring ???

Really enjoyed this. Just curious as to why you were so concerned about getting caught on private property. Would you be arrested? Thank you.
You jiust answered your own question. Private property is just that, private. This man is just being respecful.
Greetings from a german urbex team. Like done.

Rangsdorf bei Berlin
Some college students didn't even know that Germany was separated by a wall once.
I know Hitler was treated in WW1, but WW2 he was already leader not soldier, so what injuries was he treated for? Thanks
He could be referring to Valkyrie plot. I believe hitler did suffer some injuries when the bomb went off

Frohe Weihnachten! ❄️☃️🌲🎅🏻
A leisurely pace 😂

The expression " East Germany" is WRONG. The correct one is " Middle Germany" ( Mittel deutschland ). The eastern part got lost at August 1945.
