    Do you have either of these setups? What about them brings you the most value?
    Both the Capital One Venture X and Chase Sapphire Preferred are top favorites of mine, with over 5 years of experience on the CSP and almost 2 years on the VX.
    To hear how they've been so valuable to me, check out:

    From my experience in applying for both of these setups (besides the Savor One), I started with the Chase Trifecta as my first 3 cards and added the Venture X as my 9th. The nice thing about Cap1 is that you can check their preapproval tools before applying which makes that process a lot less of a guessing game. Great video Kevin!!!

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  Год назад +2

      The pre-approval tool is great (although IIRC they don't show the VX directly?) And my journey is pretty much similar too, starting with Chase and going for the VX later down the line!

    Thanks Kevin. Just got the Savor One with 10k credit limit. And I received Venture X in April, and kept checking through the preapproval form when I would be qualified for Savor One, and today it said I was! So it took 3 months for me to prequalify since getting Venture X not 6 as some say. So applied through the approval form and it was a breeze.. Now I will be using Savor one for groceries and dining. I have the chase trifecta, and will keep the Chase Preferred because Preferred has better travel insurance. I used Venture X mostly for lounge access.

But the best lounges so far were in Dubai. I went Plaza Premium there and also several other priority pass lounges. The food is unbelievable!

    I got the SavorOne and I’d say - for the following year - the Cap1 Duo is the best, but Chase has a huge differentiator… Hyatt points. So I’m completing the trifecta this year first before getting the VentureX

    My SavorOne has been awesome for me, but instead of going straight for the Venture X I’ll probably go into the Chase ecosystem first with the Freedom Unlimited and the Sapphire Preferred. I like the idea of having cards from them both to diversify my points. Awesome video Kevin!

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  Год назад +3

      With Chase's 5/24 and other "timers", I do think it's smart to go Chase if you can, especially with a card like the CSP. What's your favorite way of using points so far?

    • @SpencerChewitt
      @SpencerChewitt Год назад +1

      @@KevinYang Yeah that 5/24 status is always lurking lol. So far I have a bunch of cash back rewards saved up and that’s it. I’ve taken a lot of vacations, but before learning about credit cards so I spent so much money. In fact I’ve actually redeemed some cash back rewards to fund activities on trips. That’s why I like the idea of getting cards that offer me travel benefits, not only to make the experience nicer but also to get lots of free value.

  • @ryanccc777
    @ryanccc777 Год назад +8

    I have a hybrid approach lol. VX is my airport lounge card, since I travel with a family of four it is clutch and the Chase Trifecta (CFF, CFU, CSP) is basically a means to accrue and transfer points to Hyatt. I live near an American hub and they have ~92% of the flights and have found transferring out to alliance partners to get very specific dates on a tight schedule when traveling with a family is challenging at best so Hyatt is the best fit at the moment for my use case.

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  Год назад +1

      The card sounds perfect in giving all your family access to the lounges! Have you tried checking Avios to book AA? There are usually some decent deals there.. but I agree, Hyatt is still the best considering ease of redemptions

    Capital Duo is quite strong with better multipliers, less cards and free AUs on their premium travel card. Chase great transfer partners but the cards need a refresh. • @treasurehunter1713
    @treasurehunter1713 Год назад +4

    Kevin. Some said that chase points are worth more than capital one bc of their flexibility of transferring points & bc C1 doesn't have much options for hotel partner therefore. Does this mean the venture x catch all 2% isn't worth as much as the chase unlimited 1.5%? What do you think?

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  Год назад +3

      Potentially! However I've gotten a ton of value through Aeroplan which is a transfer partner for all 3 programs, so in my experience it's been pretty similar! But if you're looking to get value mostly from Hyatt hotels, then yes Chase is much better

  • @wpwhittle
    @wpwhittle Месяц назад +1

    I hear that the rewards redeeming process for capital one is much more difficult/not as valuable than transferring out points with Chase. I wouldn’t want points to just sit

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  Месяц назад

      It really depends on where you're trying to go and what airlines you'll be booking with! For example, I book through Aeroplan a lot for Star Alliance partners, and both programs transfer to Aeroplan instantly
