Wow, that is very unique home made honey extraction. I will copy off it and made one for myself instead to buy from someone. Very good jobs, thank you very much for showing us the job 👍 that you made. I love it ❤❤❤

Clever modification of the speed button mechanism, using the cam to regulate the speed with a lever..

Great work. I have one question. Is there a danger of causing the drills to fail due to overwork, what is your experience. Thanks.

Very clever and inventive and Thank you for sharing!
My only concern though, the bearing at the bottom has a residual grease to operate.
Despite the minimal amount, it will still blend with the honey that will be extracted.
How do you solve this issue and how do you sterilize the wood before it being covered in honey?

The bearing was clean, no grease, but to prevent rust after washing after each use I spray a littlle WD40 on the bearing.
The hard wood frames holders are washed with water after each use. Contamination has not been a problems after several years of use now.

Excellent! Does it wobble and break combs if the frames are unequal weight? I'm a newbee

What is the part that control speed made of?

That was the trigger mechanism on the power screwdiver/drill. Unfortunately I blew the electronics later and had to resort to a hand held portable screw driver for the initial spin- much less elegant. The cam lever was made of plywood.

It looks very good and simple, but how did you solve problems with vibrations? I think this extractor is'nt to heavy to have a stability.

    • @jamesmiller8525

Vibration is a problem over come by two methods:- a) brute force, i.e. I hold the drum especially at the beginning when the frames are loaded with honey, and b) I try to match frames weight-wise to prevent too much imbalance.

@@jamesmiller8525 Mr. Miller thank you for your answer. I prepared honey extractor from 304 steel and this one is about 150lb heavy and i muss use smooth speed regulation to prevent vibration. This extractor is in this video ruclips.net/video/MS7Z4_0sobw/видео.html

Do you have a plan of this ?

I am afraid not, but making the frame holders required a drawing.
