When they are working on a new album, the guys start sending to the production team of Big Hit either lyrics, melodies, beats, etc. The production team goes over all they have sent and they decide what fits better with the concept and everything. Sometimes songs have parts from more of one member. There are songs where the chorus was composed by one of them, the bridge by other member and so on. Suga once said that he sees it as a boot camp where all of them (including the production team) send a lot of ideas. So sometimes one member composes a melody for one song but at the end, the production team choses another one, so it is not released. That's what happened with this and with the other demos you can find on the 3rd CD of Proof. In this case, this version of epiphany is the one Jin composed, but in the end they used another one for the final version of the song.
You can tell how much Jin has improved on his voice by listening to these practices. His voice teacher discovered he had a hidden talent, a hidden voice inside him. But per his teacher, once he found out he had a voice he became her hardest working student she has ever had. And her favorite! He is still in touch with her and invites her to concerts. If you don't know your voice is a musical instrument and has to be practiced just like any other physical musical instrument like the piano and guitar. So if you think Jin and the other members don't continue to practice...you would be wrong. In fact...my opinion...Jin's voice just seems to get better and better. Actually that's true for all of them. Jimin is actively taking voice lessons right now. Suga took them before his D-Day concert tour. So Kudos to Jin and all of them. Will they be a little rustly after serving in the military? Possibly. But another important practice for a singer is to go voice silent for awhile and not overdo or over use one's vocal chords. Many musical theatre performers who perform 8 shows a week do NOT talk between performances. Amyway, Jin is my favorite. I fell in Love with his voice when I heard him "belt" two words in "House of Cards". "No way, No way". Singing notes in your head voice range with the power and strength of your chest voice is called belting. Jin is the only member with this skill. Being a musical theatre director and actress I noticed it right away. Please understand. This does not diminish my admiration of the amazing beautiful voices of the other guys. In " Take Two" Jin elevates the song to a new height in the middle when he belts out his part. I personally want Jin to do an album with covers songs about the Moon. If I am not wrong, jin actually didn’t play piano before Epiphany. Seokjin is truly one of the most amazing and talented people i've ever seen, he literally built his career from scratch and learned to dance and sing like an angel, his vocal coaches and critics always say how he grew so quickly it amazed them. You would never know how new he was to the field if people didnt say so because he is so professional and his voice is so beautiful, and he such charisma. Jimin said himself how JIn has the highest range in the group, Jk said at one point JIn was so talented he was good enough to be the main vocalist, the gammys even gave Seokjin the nickname 'The Silver Voice' because of his silvery and angelic tones, Jin is very humble when it comes to his accolades but his music if my favorite when it comes to solos. Check out his cover "I love you" and his solo song "Tonight" two songs that have hit my heart so hard I cry whenever I hear them. I'm so happy you checked out the demo though, it was completely created by Jin, the melody and lyrics, while the final product was altered- thats why I prefer the demo tbh but both songs hit hard because of the mantra of self love and vulnerability Jin expresses. Ughhhh I just love Jin so much, there is so much to him and Im always thrilled to see more people see how talented he is.

I remember watching the last LYSY concert and thinking, "Is this the last performance we'll see of this song?" and tearing up even more than I usually do. I think this song means as much to Jin as it does to us.
Amazing how ones tone of voice changes with different languages. Daniel sounds different in English and Spanish. That is why I love Japanese BTS´s songs. Their tones turn so sweet. The lyrics are just placeholders so they use random words, they are not meant to be the final lyrics. Thats why the songs are CD only, they're not completed songs. Epiphany was the first ever song I heard of Jin when I became an Army & from then till now it still makes me cry whenever I listen to it. The lyrics are so beautiful but his voice makes it more meaningful. But when the demo version was out I listened to it more than I listened to the original song. It felt so different yet so similar. I feel like I hear a lot of indie pop rock in the demo version, and I would absolutely lose it if that's what his solo album is like. Jin's solos are consistently among my favorite of the group, and I think his album is going to be fire.

The Cd#3 of Proof is just full of gems like this! BTS submit demo versions of the songs after the beat is given to them to build upon. They mebtionedbefore thst they have like a year long songcamp. And then they choose what becomes the final song from the submissions. This Epiphany version is one of my faves from cd3. 😍😍 BTS are just so talented.

The lyrics in the demo version are so-called place holder lyrics, so not the final ones. The demo version was the one Jin himself wrote and when Bang PD chose another version Jin was quite sad about it according to RM. So when they each had to choose songs for the third cd of the Proof album (which is sadly not available for streaming) Jin chose his own melody for Epiphany which I'm really grateful for. I think it's very clear that he wrote it because it utilizes his voice perfectly. 💜

This is my first time hearing the demo and now i understand Jin's musical influence from Coldplay cuz the melody sounded like something a rock band would play! Would've loved to see the beats match up with some korean lyrics!!
These demo versions were released in the proof album in cd3 as sort of a gift for fans. these include all the previous songs that were being considered along with the actual songs that were released and we know of. but for some reasons these demos were not chosen then and so were released as unpolished songs in cd 3.
this is a demo of his own melody and lyrics were just placeholder. it was the Bang PD version (the Epiphany now) that was released. Jin was disappointed and this demo was put on the back burner. but since Proof album featured their demos, he included this. Hope this original Jin version be included in his solo album after his military service. Am sure the lyrics will be polished. The recording of this demo was not the usual one with all the technology etc.
Epiphany one of the most beautiful BTS song and most loved and Jin the most icon member who is always on point live which is amazing for someone who never sang before being a member. He worked hard on his vocals and it has paid off even though he probably is the most underrated due to V and Jimin having unusual voices and Jungkook being so perfect. Only Jin though can belt a song and he has the widest range and along with Jungkook the most stable live. I think personally he as the best falsetto also and is the one that can sing with the most emotion which is why of course he can sing ballads so well. He uses his acting training as he has a degree in film and arts and was training to be an actor when he joined BTS and of course finished his degree and also a Masters in the same subject, to portray emotions in songs. I love the demo version and his English diction is clear, though the words are a bit nonsensical because it’s just the demo. I sincerely hope when he completes an album he is able to place a completed version of this song on it as it is so beautiful. Thank you for your review of this amazing man and his songs, the one who has always pushed the others before him because of his unselfish nature yet to me shines more brightly. 💜💜💜💜
yes, 2022 the demo version because you already heard a bit of that when they reacted to "PROOF LIVE 2022" when before they sang "For Youth" the song that Abigail cried with, they explained that their album Proof was being released, the first cd contains the history of the group of all those 9 years, the second cd are hits but individual songs or some combinations and the third cd contains the demo versions of some songs that have appeared on their previous albums

Epiphany was the first ever song I heard of Jin when I became an Army & from then till now it still makes me cry whenever I listen to it. The lyrics are so beautiful but his voice makes it more meaningful. But when the demo version was out I listened to it more than I listened to the original song. It felt so different yet so similar. It is really my lullaby song it really helps me calm myself. Jin has that powerful voice that touches your heart. Hope u listen to his other songs too. BTW as always love ur reaction. ❤😊💜🥰
I feel like I hear a lot of indie pop rock in the demo version, and I would absolutely lose it if that's what his solo album is like. Jin's solos are consistently among my favorite of the group, and I think his album is going to be fire.
so true. his solo songs are so good...the melody, message and his emotions and passion in singing them. for this demo version, lyrics were gibberish as it's just a placeholder and since the melody is the important one. I hope this demo version is included in his ksj1 solo album. Am sure the lyrics will be enhanced.

The Cd#3 of Proof is just full of gems like this! BTS submit demo versions of the songs after the beat is given to them to build upon. They mebtionedbefore thst they have like a year long songcamp. And then they choose what becomes the final song from the submissions. This Epiphany version is one of my faves from cd3. 😍😍 BTS are just so talented.

Epiphany is one of those songs you just have to hear performed live. I want to experience hearing it live at one of their future concerts and I would probably start balling bc it’s makes you feel emotional 😭

The lyrics in the demo version are so-called place holder lyrics, so not the final ones. The demo version was the one Jin himself wrote and when Bang PD chose another version Jin was quite sad about it according to RM. So when they each had to choose songs for the third cd of the Proof album (which is sadly not available for streaming) Jin chose his own melody for Epiphany which I'm really grateful for. I think it's very clear that he wrote it because it utilizes his voice perfectly.

Epiphany demo version is not on streaming platforms along with the other demos and the new songs on proof they put it on the cd since proof is an anthology album also a demo is the version that the boys works on before the final version the company chooses which version to put it out imagine the treasures they have of songs they worked on that's not released I want them all
Epiphany is the reason I became an ARMY. The melody, the message of the song and Jin's beautiful voice were amazing. It made me want to listen to more BTS's song.💜

This is my first time hearing the demo and now i understand Jin's musical influence from Coldplay cuz the melody sounded like something a rock band would play! Would've loved to see the beats match up with some korean lyrics!!

Demo version was completely Jin 's. I just love the Epiphany so much. But demo version is also as good as the original one..
These demo versions were released in the proof album in cd3 as sort of a gift for fans. these include all the previous songs that were being considered along with the actual songs that were released and we know of. but for some reasons these demos were not chosen then and so were released as unpolished songs in cd 3.

this is a demo of his own melody and lyrics were just placeholder. it was the Bang PD version (the Epiphany now) that was released. Jin was disappointed and this demo was put on the back burner. but since Proof album featured their demos, he included this. Hope this original Jin version be included in his solo album after his military service. Am sure the lyrics will be polished. The recording of this demo was not the usual one with all the technology etc.
the fact that i was craving to listen to this song when i was at school today and i see this video popped up in my recommendations makes me so happy!

Epiphany one of the most beautiful BTS song and most loved and Jin the most icon member who is always on point live which is amazing for someone who never sang before being a member. He worked hard on his vocals and it has paid off even though he probably is the most underrated due to V and Jimin having unusual voices and Jungkook being so perfect. Only Jin though can belt a song and he has the widest range and along with Jungkook the most stable live. I think personally he as the best falsetto also and is the one that can sing with the most emotion which is why of course he can sing ballads so well. He uses his acting training as he has a degree in film and arts and was training to be an actor when he joined BTS and of course finished his degree and also a Masters in the same subject, to portray emotions in songs.
I love the demo version and his English diction is clear, though the words are a bit nonsensical because it’s just the demo. I sincerely hope when he completes an album he is able to place a completed version of this song on it as it is so beautiful.

yes, 2022 the demo version because you already heard a bit of that when they reacted to "PROOF LIVE 2022" when before they sang "For Youth" the song that Abigail cried with, they explained that their album Proof was being released, the first cd contains the history of the group of all those 9 years, the second cd are hits but individual songs or some combinations and the third cd contains the demo versions of some songs that have appeared on their previous albums

Their demos (that we've been shown at least) are usually more to showcase the melody/beat than lyrics so most of the time the lyrics will just be random words put together 😂. Also I believe this was the melody that jin made for epiphany but another was decided for the final version.
