I needed to hear this! I feel like I know what I want but I feel like I’ll never get to that place where those desires are met. Thanks for the reminder that my desires are not selfish and God gave me these desires for a reason

For by grace ye are saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift or God not of works lest any man should boast. I met him in 1991, 31 years ago, he was 93 at that time. I took pictures of him at the Western Wall. He was a very honoured Holy Priest surrounded by so many people. He had a good and pure heart. Giving your heart the microphone is essential to hearing in contemplation or silent prayer. The head cannot hear. The mental waters are confounding and relentless. On top of that, in most (and myself) the heart is like a 90 y.o. geriatric, hearing is terrible. Yet the Jesus pathway to rebirth requires that we hear with these dormant ears. It requires that we scratch and claw and persevere out of the conditions of the Fall. Silence the flesh, silence the waters, nurture the spirit.
Mt 7:20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Dear sister, it takes a lot of practice to committing ourselves to God's will, so make a conscious choice that what you desire deep in your thoughts and in your heart will bring glory to God.
