  • new liverpool folk song written by Tony Flanagan ..the song came from a conversation i had with an old friend who was emigrating to australia..we talked about our childhood and the streets we use to roam around scottie and greaty and how busy it use to be..and we talked of all the characters we had met along lifes way when we suddenley relised that everyone we mention had passed on and every street had been knocked to the ground..my friend then riased his glass and toasted a a long goodbye to scotland road..which is what i called the song...i use the line maggie may they have taken you away as i fond farewell to everyone and every place that has gone...all the best to all the scottie crew...Tony Flanagan
