a sound comparison is pointless unless you're in the same room with the same speakers, what you hear is going to be completely different than what he heard
Mine's audio jack died a month ago also after 10 years, went through the whole comparing and eventually upgraded to a newer one with bluetooth. Long story short, returned the newer model and bought the Z2300 again secondhand for a great price, drove 400 km's . Bought a Qudelix 5K BT receiver and the system is now upgraded for the next 10 years
I still remember 10 years ago when I bought my z2300, not expecting anything too amazing for $120. When I first turned it on it blew my mind, it was the best audio I'd ever heard in my life. My girlfriend came over and I was excited to show her my new computer speakers, she thought I was being ridiculous. I sat her down at the PC and turned on Three Seed by Silversun on LOW VOLUME. She nearly turned white as a ghost within 5 seconds. I got 7 years of glory out of it. It would have lasted longer but I was hard on it, and I moved around the country a lot. When they died I did not replace them, but now it is time and I am thinking about the z625, I'm just nervous the sound quality won't be the same because I've seen some reviews call it a "noise maker." Or this reviewer who says it's "not the best".
@@leen1404 you're a year late, leen. I ended up buying it a year ago, shortly after making this post. You're right, it's a huge downgrade in terms of sound. But I kept mine because it's either this model, or something cheaper for me. I guess we both got lucky to have the Z2300 back in the day.
I paid £99 for mine and like you thought them brilliant. I sold them last year, i no longer had a use for them, they were still in mint condition. I actually sold them for more than i paid for them
I've just bought a used, well looked after Z-2300 for £20(uk) and i was gob smacked at the power this thing has, well impressed, playing Doom Eternal sounds epic!
I have the Z623 and for my 4x3 room, it's definitely loud enough for it. The only downside is that the bass rattles the walls so most of the time you cant hear anything but the walls so I'm not too sure. As for Logitech, 90% of my PC accessories are Logitech.
Over ten years of service on my Z2300 and though not as loud as it was when new, it is still loud and sounds great. Best bang for my money than any other brand. Even within Logitech's newer models there is no other model that sounds as loud with decent quality audio that would be a better bargain.

I've owned both systems for years so I expect i'm better qualified than almost anyone to compare them and i've never heard much difference between them although that's hardly surprising given that they both use the same 2.5 inch aluminum phase plug Tang Band driver, although the sub in the Z-2300 is slightly bigger as well as the amp in the Z-2300 having cooling fins. The main differences are, the controls on the Z623 are built into the right speaker (as he said) which reduces desktop clutter, the Z-2300 plays 20-25% louder at the same volume level as the Z623 and the Z-2300 is much more reliable. I bought my Z-2300 used years ago and have never had a problem with it, whereas I had to replace my original Z623 after it died just before the warranty ran out (at least that was good so it only cost me $35 shipping to replace it) and the replacement I got is also flawed because it started to make crackling noises after a while whenever I adjusted the volume so i'd say the quality control at Logitech has gone down the tubes which is a shame because I fell in love with the sound of the Z623 as soon as I bought it. He's right about the sound though, compared to anything remotely high end, their laughably bad so the reason they have such high ratings is because most of the people that buy them are coming from either built in speakers offering no bass or really cheap computer speakers and compared to either of those, these speakers shine but I can't recommend Logitech for their reliability anymore
I've got two Logitech Z-2300 systems and I run them with my passive studio monitors. The subs do a decent job for the sort of music I listen to, however the satellite speakers are pretty much unusable for me. Good comparison!
Soundwise, they're indistinguishable, the main difference i've noticed between them is that the Z2300 is clearly louder at the same volume than the Z623 and the Z2300 is made way better since i've had problems with 2 different sets of Z623's. The only advantage of the Z623's are the controls on the right speaker to reduce desktop clutter
The thing is , nothing logitech is amazing high end gear, its never tried to be. Whatever they make there's something by someone else that's much better, but also much more expensive. Be it keyboards and mice, speakers or gaming peripherals. But what Logitech do and have always done is made good quality stuff for the price. You can still do much worse than these Z623's and pay a lot more. Are they audiophile gear? haha no! but what audiophile would use such simple pc speakers anyway? The thing is most of the people who buy these kinds of speakers are just looking for something that sounds good and doesn't cost too much, that they can easily plug in to their pc or tv without having to have a separate amp and other stuff to go with it and these do that perfectly. A decent amp alone costs twice as much as these speakers.
I would describe logitech as a company that makes durable utility items, but now it is too expensive for what it offers. Surely many people became interested in sound when they bought their first logitech speakers and then normal hifi.
I love the z623, but not because it moves my curtain around (port noise). More because it has a punch to the bass. Some people have trouble with the vibrations it causes around the room, but I do not have that problem.
My modded Logitech X530 sound fucking amazing, people hate on Logitech too much, have a JBL BassPro 2 sub (6 inch driver) replacing the OEM sub (same Amp) and added some tweeters to the satelites, I go test out many different home theater systems at the local mall that don't sound as good.
That's so fucking cool! I never heard of someone changing a sub in such a tiny box. I'm thinking of doing a swap for my z5500, probably a jbl sub for sure
the z623 was my first system with a subwoofer and i remember it to have the craziest bass, now i find it not to be that loud and it's quite distorted at high volume but still a great pc system
I own both the Z-2300 and the Z623 and I can't hear any difference but then since they both use the same 2 1/2" tang band phase plug driver it's not surprising especially since the satellites carry the overwhelming majority of the audio signal. As you showed, the only difference is the sub and even that's not a huge difference.
@Koti M No z623 has a class d amp and z2300 has 4 class AB chips(TDA7295) just like with the z5500/906 the newer one has a class d amp and the old 7 class AB chips(TDA7294)
You can't hear any difference? I have both systems and I hear a difference in the bass. The z623 is a bit stronger and vibrates more, but the bass of the z2300 is more balanced in my opinion. I like both, but if I had to chose one system I would take the z2300, for that money the bass is just perfect and sounds great. The bass of the z623 stops and then suddenly hit in lol with the z2300 the bass is continuous and all the time there without any breaks. The bass of the z623 is too punchy for me, I prefer a continuous bass like on the z2300.
I keep my z2300's bass at 100% and I've used it for parties at 100% volume for hours on end and at the end of the night the sub was barely even warm so I'd say no. BUT I did blow 2 sets of satellites because the shitty amp started clipping.
I have both systems, its hard to say which one is better. The positiv thing of the z623 is it is much smaller in size and less heavy in weight, plus it has no grill. The z2300 subwoofer is really heavy and big lol. So if you are having space issues and and/or have to move the subwoofer a lot then go for the z623. The other good thing about the z623 is that the controller for on and off is in the right speaker integrated so no more controller apart needed (saves you also a little bit of space and cables). When it comes to bass it is difficult to say which one performs better, I would say that the bass of the z2300 is a bit stronger and deeper, but the bass of the z623 is clearer, the music somehow sounds better with the z623. I would say that the bass of the z623 goes more in your ears and the bass of the z2300 more in your stomach, I don't know how to describe it otherwise. Both are great, but I think I still prefer the z2300, cause the bass is more continuous without any break and the bass of the z623 is more punchy and harder it stops and then goes hard again but it not as continious as the bass of the z2300.
@Koti M louder? I have both and the z2300 is by far louder. The z2300 is overall more natural and better in sound which is not surprising at all if you compare the materials used and the workmanship. Can't believe someone thinks that this 3kg plastic subwoofer of the z623 has more power than the wooden 13kg subwoofer of the z2300.
I had the Z2300 2.1 speaker and i really think it gave brilliant value for money. I agree what you say about the treble. I made some small 2 way speakers with a small woofer and a tweeter. The speaker i made sounded very good powered by the sub, the sound really opened up. I found that i hardly had to use any bass and they never distorted or sounded bad. I have some very expensive HiFi gear, but i still liked the Logitech
can you look into getting and testing a set of the Panasonic SB-FS72o(rear), SB-FS520(front) and SB-PC720 (center) surround sound speakers? I have some and I think they are absolutely outstanding for the money!
Well I just bought a used pair of Z2300 and so far they don't sound as good as my Z623. I don't know if it's because of their condition but their seems to be nothing wrong with them physically. I do prefer the form factor of the satellite speakers and the separate control.

I have both z2300 and z623, but the thing is i use the z623 for my main computer to do anything, but the z2300 stays for movies and other shit. If you ask me, i'd prefer more z623 because its better looking and a little smaller. z2300 is also good, but the only way to get these is used. Both of them are great speakers for home, they are not expensive these days. They can't beat car audio systems but for apartment and any other place they are the best to get for gaming and movies.
@@dstefanovxd1290 I wouldn't say the 2300 is better, but it is different when it comes to bass. The bass of the z623 is much clearer than the bass of the z2300, but they are both great.
@@wayofthewicked Well they are pretty good and im happy with the purchase, tbh - the z2300 where a BIT better but the Z623 fulfill my needs and i would recommend them for gaming and music
Unless you get very lucky and find somewhere that has a box buried in the back of a stockroom they forgot about you probably won't I'm afraid, you'll have to get a set of the inferior 623's or another brand. They do come up on ebay but they're not cheap, you could try asking around on some of the AV forums out there though, you might get lucky.
Some logitech stereo sets can feel a little cheap but the surround ones are far better! i own a Logitech z-680, and it's fantastic! However, for stereo i would reccomend a "real" amp and "real" speakers, for example a Denon RCD-M40 and a pair of DALI Zensor 1's or 3's.
Speaker 2.1 of logitech are Best sound quality loud bass deep and Go so low frequency low 30 hz 👍👌 i have z623 in this year 2021 is still working amazing
I'm a little late but this is still a comment for the "what's inside the amplifiers" video. Seriously, old amps are held together with 6 screws and newer ones with half a dozen? Both 6.
I would even argue that these aren't always good value for money considering. The z2300 is discontinued and you can only pick it up second had for around £50-£100 depending on the condition of the speakers, The same applies for the Z623s if you want to pick up a second hand pair or about £140 for a new set. If you are buying on the bottom end of the scale at £50 then I'll admit you will probably struggle to find something better for the same price. But if you are shopping closer to £100 and willing to buy used then you can easily get a better system. My personal PC System consists of a Technics SU-V5 Amp (60W at 4-8 Ohms, THD @ 1Khz 0.007%), a pair of Sony SS 85e Bookshelf Speakers (4 Ohms, 70W, 85db 1W/1m) and a Gale Sub6 Subwoofer (6 1/2" Driver, 65W, Ported Cabinet) That cost me a grand total of £85. The amp and speakers produce a great natural sound with strong midbass to highs and the Sub fills in the bottom end of the spectrum without overpowering the speakers, But if i want it to i can get the room shaking with it. I'm not knocking the Logitech's as they were built for a purpose and that do that well, but that purpose was more movies and gaming than music. TLDR if you listen to lots of music get a HiFi separates system, If you play lots of games or watch lots of movies then the Logitech may be a better option for the price
I recently bought a second hand pair of z2300, came in original box, perfect condition, with manuals, and also was shipped in the original box that it was shipped to the original owner in haha. In perfect condition for £35! Couldn't believe my luck.
Says who I don’t need bass? I’ll be the judge as to just how much boom boom my heart desires. No position I find u in to determine the carnal needs of double digit hertz frequencies my body needs for Sustenance to be sustained.
I'm so sick of these stuck up people in the comments talking bout how u can get A much better sound from this or that or plug this amp with so and so speakers for 3 times as much Ill take my lowly z623's just bought my 3rd pair ( $91 even thats tax and shipping included ) not because I needed to but as gifts i still have my 5 year old pair and I've abused the f--- out of will they win a sound contest not against more expensive speakers but they will the wallet contest bang for the buck
$91? Where I like it's like $175. I got my z2300 for $100. Great for parties. Blew 2 sets of satellites with it because the amp is shit and it starts to clip after a while of playing at max volumes but now I've got some new 2 way Pioneer speakers. 100 watts a piece and I'm hoping they will last longer. I'll take more care of them too since these actually sound nice.
They're cheap plastic speakers from a company who should stick to making keyboards. People who think that Logitech 'subs' great at making bass probably have only ever listened to phone speakers (fair enough, I'd take Logitech speakers over the ones on my phone), but as you showed on the video, they barely have 75dB of output. Even if the SPL meter is off by 10dB, they're definitely no louder than 85dB @ 40Hz, with distortion. They're junk. My speakers can do over 115dB at 40Hz, and are being fed with less wattage than the fake rating on Logitech equipment. There is no good value in their audio products. For $100 but some Micca MB-42X and a small class-D amplifier will get you a real stereo. You won't get Earth shattering bass, but you wouldn't get that with the Logitech systems anyway. All you'd get from them is muddy midbass from 60-80Hz. I'll never understand why people fawn over these cheesy products.
Logitech's subs are made by tangband, which is a decent manufacturer. I don't actually know how good these are, but they are made by a decent manufacturer.
I have the logitech z5500, by far not the clearest audio when used by optical input. however, I'm really considering swapping out the subwoofer driver with something that can handle the power, you can't get it to full power (I'd say about 100 watts and then another 88 for the boost 1-11) which is pretty garbage. with the volume 3 bars from max volume (just the sub plugged in) you can start to hear it mechanically killing itself. but you can send way more power with the amplifier, as some people know, once you hit max volume, you can keep turning the knob and it will go into "boost" mode, which goes from 1-11, this mode can and does void the warranty (I don't have the warranty as I bought the setup off ebay). I want to experience all the power, but unfortunately, it's an 8ohm system, meaning obviously I'd either have to find an 8ohm 10 inch driver (good luck) or a dual basket 4 ohm sub (not hard to find). I heard it sounds alot better when swapped, it's obviously not that much power so finding the right one wouldn't be hard
Wittle Fuzzies I have the z2300. I have modded it by replacing the satellite speakers with a pair of nice bookshelf speakers, with a Kevlar cone midrange and a silk some tweeter. It has significant improved the quality of treble and midrange reproduction, as well as the stereo image and staging. I imagine that you could achieve your desired results with a better subwoofer. TLDR: If you can get a quality 8 ohm driver (sub/speaker) for a reasonable price go ahead and upgrade the system it is worth it. BTW: I know the system is not HiFi quality, but for the price (and low cost of modification) it does surprising good.
Why not re-record it? seems like a pointless video without a sound comparison
a sound comparison is pointless unless you're in the same room with the same speakers, what you hear is going to be completely different than what he heard

can you look into getting and testing a set of the Panasonic SB-FS72o(rear), SB-FS520(front) and SB-PC720 (center) surround sound speakers? I have some and I think they are absolutely outstanding for the money!
Well I just bought a used pair of Z2300 and so far they don't sound as good as my Z623. I don't know if it's because of their condition but their seems to be nothing wrong with them physically. I do prefer the form factor of the satellite speakers and the separate control.
which one is the best between Z2300 vs Z623,,,
actually I'm bass lover,,,plz suggest me the best one in these
+REATRD420XD alright, so what should buy? I mean ur recommendation for which one?
I am high, deep and long throw bass Lover,,, like Vibrate and shake my room,,, I can deal from the heart and soul,,, Thank You
Have you ever tried the the little kinter amp. I got one from Amazon for under 20 bucks.
Why do u not recommended them on full bass?
the amplifier clips alot earlier and the bass is totally unbalanced.
The first was the z-2300 ?

I have the same question, someone please answer.

+Salty Graphics/PurePressure and I am music Lover especially deep and booming bass ,,, so I want to bus a high and constant bass speaker maximum Hz ,,,so which one u recommend to me for long throw high bass ,,, only in just 10,000 to 20,000 Indian money,,, like THX certified sounds or may be best of THX,,
I have the Z623 and the only thing that annoys me is like the static noise (white noise) literally everytime you turn the volume knob.
You’re having a grounding issue. Plug the power into the wall directly, not on a strip plug & maybe try a nicer, shielded 3.5 mm plug.
i run bic america speakers as my desk speakers 2 pairs to be exacted and a klipsch sw-112 it's a 300 watt rms subwoofer gets loud same with the bic america speakers that subwoofer is a perfect match for these speakers
Why did you buy new z-623.
Z623 is loud on bass?
Yea bro, it is not bad, if you want something better buy z906
@@dstefanovxd1290 ok...z623 or z2300 bass...who win?
@@pyromania2104 actually the z2300 is better, but is old, and this is why I prefer the z623
@@dstefanovxd1290 I wouldn't say the 2300 is better, but it is different when it comes to bass. The bass of the z623 is much clearer than the bass of the z2300, but they are both great.
sooo im gonna replace my z623 with a used z2300 i found for 50€
Bought mine for 50 euros secondhand (belonged to an old lady so the system looks brandnew) Had mine for 10 years!
did you get it? how is the difference? My Z 2300 just died so I'm looking for something to replace it
I’ve heard the z623 plays lower?
so, which is winner?
z2300
Is there gonna be a 20k special?
There already was xD... Last video

Bass z623 i can hear outside..is loud?
Z2300 are Legendary. Treble sounds muffled but the price to performance ratio is off the charts.
Only Z-2300!
Which one should I buy
z2300 louder bass
999darek1 :DD
the legend 999darek1
Oczywiście XD
On to miał 8x XD
I think you can better for the around $500 you'll pay for them. A single one you can't beat though.
Z2300 is loud on bass??
I can tell you right off the bat, old design is better than new. Newest design is so trash.
can you test the edifier s730?
I love your videos dude keep it up to have more subscriber and nice video though.
My old z2300 still works, but my input jack is dying. I must say i used the plug alot.
Same happend to mine aswell .. i ordered an Z623 now and i really hope that it is at least as good as my good old z2300
@@sunoverthehills9083 was it any good? How can u compare then?
@@sunoverthehills9083 Are you happy with your z623?
@@sunoverthehills9083 finish the fucking story!!!! :D
@@wayofthewicked Well they are pretty good and im happy with the purchase, tbh - the z2300 where a BIT better
but the Z623 fulfill my needs and i would recommend them for gaming and music
Where i can buy new's logitech z2300 not used !
Unless you get very lucky and find somewhere that has a box buried in the back of a stockroom they forgot about you probably won't I'm afraid, you'll have to get a set of the inferior 623's or another brand.
They do come up on ebay but they're not cheap, you could try asking around on some of the AV forums out there though, you might get lucky.
lol you think those two are bad, try the z313 where you can barely hear the bass over the port noise unless it is in a corner
How is loud on bass?
Some logitech stereo sets can feel a little cheap but the surround ones are far better! i own a Logitech z-680, and it's fantastic! However, for stereo i would reccomend a "real" amp and "real" speakers, for example a Denon RCD-M40 and a pair of DALI Zensor 1's or 3's.
logitech z5500 and z906 are the bests!
Both 6.
you should do z5300e vs z5500
z5400 instad of 5300e
Hey, i need to talk to you. I sent you an invite on google hangouts minutes ago or you can email me at defqontuna@yahoo.com
I recently bought a second hand pair of z2300, came in original box, perfect condition, with manuals, and also was shipped in the original box that it was shipped to the original owner in haha. In perfect condition for £35! Couldn't believe my luck.
still use my Z2300 Best buy i ever did!
Says who I don’t need bass? I’ll be the judge as to just how much boom boom my heart desires. No position I find u in to determine the carnal needs of double digit hertz frequencies my body needs for Sustenance to be sustained.
i'll tell you when i've had enough mister :D
Which one wins
Por favor puedes hacer un vídeo probando tus sub woofers con la pista GET LOW - LIL JON ...saludos desde Perú
i'm sure the Z623 has a 3" satellite and the Z2300 2"
The mic is distorted
Which 1 was first
they don't sound good without the external soundcard
Eew eew eew! Port noise is the bane of my life!
Great video...
watching with a logitech z523

Romgleză(e mai bun z623 și dacă nu îl forjezi pe bass nu are "port noise"

Waste of time
They're cheap plastic speakers from a company who should stick to making keyboards.
Ahmen to that !
Jonathan Hiener well, the z5500 is decent i would say
Nigga I don't know the difference
