A mix or pva glue and water to use as a wash to stiffen up flimsy card, but use wood glue to repair any rips. You can buy a cheap modern toy to get replacement cellophane. There are some good box repair videos on RUclips

Yeah I love these old spideys. Most of the time they want a euro or two a piece but at 50 cents who can say no ?
