Amazed by your work! I have a personal question, as I'm currently writing my bachelor thesis on the correlation/ impact of virtual cinematography and interactive lighting in Unreal Engine for a VP set: was your background pre-rendered or did you record it all in real time? I'm not that much of an expert, still exploring and learning, but for my practical part I have to build such a set, on my own basically, so I'm looking for low budget ways to create the illusion/effect as much as possible
Hi! Glad you are researching this. The backgrounds were ones we found on Unreal Marketplace, with some modifications. During filmmaking, the backgrounds came straight out of Unreal Engine, rendered in real time. This was handy because we could easily move them a little bit this way or that to get the background we wanted.

Glad you enjoyed it! We’re not allowed to show the final for a few days yet, because of the competition rules. We’ll post a link when we can show it.
