I don’t have children but I have had bouts with addiction, especially with alcohol. Miraculously, I have been sober since 2005. This episode is informative for me mainly because I recently lived in a city where addicts GOVERN the streets. And I did NOT do well with dealing with the addicts I encountered despite having my own addiction issues. The conversation is reminding me of the great steps and wisdom I heard so many years ago: first step - being powerless; this is a great reminder. Now you all are discussing the Serenity Prayer and “one day at a time.” These principles can be adapted into my life NOW as a need to be sober minded when living life on life’s terms. Great stuff.
Hi @JustAThought155, Thank you for listening and we're so glad the episode was meaningful to you. And thank you as well for your vulnerability as you shared about your bouts with alcohol ... how wonderful that you've been sober since 2005! Way to go! Yes, the Serenity Prayer and taking life "one day at a time" are wonderful tools for our tool belts when walking through the troubles of life. We're glad this episode was a good reminder of principles to integrate into life today as we continue serving our God of love and healing. Thank you! - Reframing Ministries Staff
