Very helpful, thank you! I just got my first pair of forearm crutches today; I've been using a cane for years, but pain has progressed so much that the cane is no longer enough.
So even though we all call these "crutches", they actually they function more like walking sticks/canes than crutches. For example if one foot was not at all weight-bearing you wouldn't be able to use these... is that correct?
No, it's just different gaits/ walking styles for different needs. You can swing them forward and hop through with only one weight-bearing foot fine, it's just a different gaits than the one shown in the video. These definitely are more similar to canes as far as design goes though
i don't think the word crutch implies anything about being fully weight bearing does it? crutches are super versatile u can use them with a completely non-weight bearing leg, two nearly non-weight bearing legs, or completely weight bearing but just used for balance and everything in between. these forearm crutches are the standard everywhere outside of north america.
Came here while my knee is popping out while waiting for an ambulance to prepare myself 😂 (jokes, I was too busy screaming. Came here a day later to see if I'm using it right)
Adrian Zamfir Use the crutches to balance yourself and stabilize with the uninjured foot. Lift the injured foot and “hop along” between steps with the crutches with assistance of the good foot.
Cut really close to my pendant on the back of my foot yesterday luckyly I missed it and will be walking soon but it had to get stitches meaning g I cant put weight on it I'm using this type of crutch how can I stop the pain in my hands after walking for a while
i got crutches yesterday for my soft tissue injury (sprained ankle) and i have never use crutches before so it little bit difficult to use. Anyway when i use them i lose balance or i'm about to fall ;-; Any advice???
That's easy with naked arms... But what if you are wearing a jacket or a coat, and it doesn't fit through the loops??... I need to walk through the snow and my coat doesn't go through the loops
i have these for a connective tissue disorder and it’s hard to use at first but they are very helpful
EDS?
i also have eds lol
im thinking of getting them, my hips are my biggest problem
Very helpful, thank you!
