I think its a technique used in damp/wet conditions to minimise wheel spin and get better traction

@ Derrick Best In my opinion it was 95% Seb's fault & 5% Kimi's Fault, Max was Blameless.
Kimi's fault was that he trusted Vettel to be Sensible, which Vettel at times is not, especially at this moment, so Kimi started to inch to the right because he knew if he kept to the left on the white line he would have encountered standing water & would have locked up on brakes & caused a massive shunt or spun out & thought that Vettel would be Sensible enough to go back to the racing line BIG MISTAKE in thinking that.
Just watch Hamilton's Onboard, Seb is almost on the fucking Pitlane exit. I'm a Ferrari Fan for the past 15 years, & if Seb loses the championship, then he deserved to lose it especially if you take into account his Absolute Stupidity in Baku & Mindless Desperation in Singapore.

The Alonso's team radio was when he has overtaken by 2 cars in the main straight, not in the start..
I really feel for Vettel, the move was very similar to what Hamilton does and is perfectly legal however it was just a case of bad timing and not taking into account the poor start he got. He did sound incredibly sorry over the radio though.
Great race from Lewis as well as if he followed seb and didn't take a different line through turn 3 to try and get the jump than he would have also been out.

Tbh..Kimi is at fault. He just passed Verstappen with a small room between the front tyres, but the rear tyres are much wider. He didn't realise that at that moment, and he drove into Verstappen's front left with his rear right. Which caused the crash..
