This Analysis is part of the big-ass thread I'm making regarding everything that I've found in Arcane. After watching this show 20 times (edit : I'm up to 98 times now lmao) and even once in 0'15 motion (yes, the ENTIRE show) I decided to share what I've found, since I never saw anyone bringing up these stuff yet. I don’t think it was like that it’s more likely that Jinx was trying to kill only herself it just so matched happened that Ekko wasnearby even Amanda Overton the Arcane screenwriter said that Jinx absent no fear of death

This is a good video. Jinx/Powder is an imaginary person but i feel so bad for her. I want her to have a good turn around and get to be a hero from here on out. But after watching enough Korean dramas i won't be surprised if they don't. Perhaps she is a cautionary tale for us not to allow the negative to define us.

Most funny part is that you posted this video a few weeks before the interview of Arcane creators that confirmed Ekko did try to look for Powder and he did say that Powder told him ''Powder is dead'' the other month in the reddit AMA, just like you've been saying here lol. I don't believe it was really powder's fault. If she hadn't set off that bomb in the building they wouldn't they would have been killed anyway, Because even if they did escape from that building that guy would have eventually go through the door and with his inherent speed would have caught up to them. Especially with the condition Vander was in. So in a way she saved vi.
Except her bomb didn't kill Silco's goon, it just delayed him (at the cost of killing Milo and Clagger, and trapping Vi under rubble). VANDER was actually the one who saved Vi in the end.
@DLxxx I meant even if vi and the others escaped, that guy would have broken down the door eventually and caught up with them with his enhanced speed. With vendors' conditions, they wouldn't have lasted long.
I want to note that the quotation marks in the context of a possible conversation between the two has a few problems as a theory. If you look st the Council Archives as they were meant to be presented, there are two entries with quotation marks, both of them saying “I’m sorry”, but in the Council Archives, those entries are attached to marked off segments of the diary page, one covering Vander, the other covering Mylo and Claggor. The implication is that those apologies are directed at Vander, Mylo and Claggor. They can’t refer to conversations she’s had with them in real life and it wouldn’t make sense for them to refer to a conversation with Ekko as she’s not apologizing to him for anthing, she’s apologizing to her dead family. And then for the longer entry with several quotes in it, that entry is tied to her drawing of Vi, not Ekko. There is one entry that’s tied to her drawing of Ekko and that’s “We were just kids…” There are a lot of things that don’t make sense and that’s by design. There’s a later entry that says “Sister says I’m not good enough” “She doesn’t say it but she thinks it” “I can see it when she looks at me” “STOP LOOKING AT ME”. It talks about Vi in the present tense, despite that clearly not being congruent with reality. In the show she tells Vi that she was in her head too as much as Mylo and Claggor were. It’s equally possible that the quotation marks just indicate her talking with voices in her head. While there is another entry later that denotes a quote but lacking quotation marks (I’ll always be with you Powder), this entry also shows that Jinx is aware it’s not real as she mentions Vi’s voice growing “LOUDER LOUDER” saying I’ll always BE WITH YOU. To me, that journal entry could just as easily be a conversation she had with an auditory hallucination of Vi. The way I interpret Jinx and Ekko’s relationship in the show is that their incredibly violent and spiteful hostility towards each other comes from a lack of communication more than anything. I can absolutely see Ekko growing to see Powder as dead and hating Jinx by mere asssociation with Silco, watching her work willingly for him as he argues to Vi and seeing her do horrific things like kill his people (which we know she has because his crew are all terrified of her in episode 4), and Jinx hating him because of his violent opposition to Silco and feeling abandoned by him too. She refers to the Firelights as “whackos” to Silco, meaning she holds them in insultingly low regard. They both had new families and anyone in opposition was a mortal enemy. Conflict escalates and as violence escalates, so does the hatred. For Ekko, Powder’s dead because she’s a murderous sociopath working for the bad guy. And I just personally can’t get behind the idea that Ekko never mentions to Vi that he’s had any sort of meaningful conversation with Jinx whilst they argue about whether she’s gone or not and Vi aguing that she can reach her. We know Ekko isn’t always sound of mind, after spying on Vi for a while, he just comes out swinging, attacking her completely unprovoked, even though their last encounter was very tender and warm. All because he was suspicious of her working for Silco or the Enforcers, so I can only imagine his rage at seeing that Powder was working for Silco, the guy who murdered Benzo right in front of him. From what we see in the show it almost feels out of character for Ekko to even try talking to her based on how violently he treats Vi on sight for far less.
People like to see people happy. It's hard to sit in the anguish, the loss, the possibility that happy endings aren't always a thing. I kinda take this sort of shipping exercise as our human need to love and be loved. It's kinda cool, all the essays/analysis. Plus a lot of awesome art has come out of it. Timebomb thing only bothers me bc their interactions are so violent, so I guess seeing them in artwork NOT being violent makes heart feel good. Just gotta wait for season 2 eh? :D hype!
I know this is a old comment so you probably know this already but It was actually revealed in a interview with some of the animators and writers for Arcane that thier was a scene that was cut from episode 7, where Ekko did try to save Powder from Silco between act 1 and act 2 but was unsuccessful. Which is why Jinx called him "the boy savior" in thier fight and when Ekko said to Vi that "she cant change her" he was speaking from experience. So I doubt the hatred Jinx has for Ekko comes from feeling abandoned by him since he did try to reach out to her, Its most likely simply comes from the fact that Ekko and the Firelights are in direct opposition to Silco and his goals, which also comes into direct conflict with Jinx's constant need to be useful to Silco. But I agree with you that most of the things in Jinx's diary are about Vi, Vander, Mylo, and Claggor not Ekko except that "we were just kid" part. Tbh, the impression I had gotten from Ekko when we see him in act 3, is that he was pretty much left in the dark when it comes to the specifics of what happened at the end of act 1. Like it didn't seem, at least to me that he knew its was Powder that set of the explosion or that Vi hit Powder and "abandoned" her. So it most likely appears to Ekko that Powder just started willingly working for the man who killed her family and Benzo, so the lack of communication being why thier relationship went so hostile, is the likely reason imo. I would even go one step further into speculation territory, due to Powder internalizing that she is indeed a jinx after the events in act 1, she probably pushed Ekko away when they reunited as way of protecting him from her, if that makes sense? . You know the classic "I am monster, stay away from me" troupe. Pretty much everyone Powder loved was either dead or abandoned her because of her actions, so I can absolutely see Powder refusing to go with Ekko due to the fear that she would just end up jinxing him to. I doubt Powder actually explained what happened at the end of act 1 to Ekko out of guilt but from his perspective his best friend is just choosing to work for the man that destroyed both thier lives. But who knows I am probably way off base with this theory, we will just to wait and see if season 2 will explain how thier relationship got from being close friends to enemies but this is the vibe I have always gotten from those two.
