(I think those guys made sure he got down on a few drinks and then extracted few stuff which I doubt he would have said if he was in his full senses, to me those lot are shite and they took real advantage of his vulnerability and insecurities). Got a lot of backlash for it later.

first of all, i want to commend your bravery and maturity. coming out of a dark time in your life can be hard and you are handling it with grace and taking responsibility for actions you may regret. while the past might not be as bright, we can only continue to move forward. i can speak for everyone when i say i am extremely proud of how far you’ve come all these years. staying sober for 6 months, making new music, discovering a new hobby, and going on a tour are all things you should be immensely proud of. you’ve made all of this happen on your own all while recovering from a bad time in your life. don’t ever feel afraid to fall down, we will be right there to lift you up again and again- as many time as it takes. i hope you continue to be successful and i wish you the best of luck as you raise your boy to be just as great as the legacy you’ll leave. all the best 🫶🫶

I think so many of us know how it is to be in a dark place and to feel like you don’t belong anywhere and we know how hard this shit can get but i think that is way we are so happy that you seem better now, that you took your chance and that you feel comfortable again being yourself.
It is human and it is good to make mistakes so you can learn from them. I think thats all life is about, learning, improving and living in the best way possible.
Don’t stress yourself, do it the way you want and when you want. There is noone pushing you anymore and we will always be there for you, do not forget that ever!
You can just see In his eyes how much he struggled. And the fact that he had the courage to come out and take responsibility for the things he said shows how amazing he is.

oh dear me. He shouldn’t come out because we can’t help him. He continually craves attention and popularity- this will always be and remain his downfall. He is self absorbed and wants sympathy to paper over his mistakes. He should tell his family or his councillor of his struggles if there genuinely are any “conditions”. Life is not full of ups. And he said there’s reason why he dislikes him and reason why he’ll always be by his side. There will always be things we don’t like about people. We don’t know the full story of what they went through so we can’t just say things about them.

liam is one of the bravest people i know at this point. In one direction he was always the one who spoke in interviews and sang first to not put pressure on others, he saved his friend's life in a fire and now this. he talks about all the difficulties he has had and takes his responsibility. I'm sure he's a great father

@@fabio9936the thing is, yea he’s rich and has money and a job and a son, but the hate he got went on to the point where you couldn’t find many real fans, he got told to kill himself by millions of people daily, he drank away his pain. The first press picture we got in ages he was so skinny. He struggled so bad and no matter what he got hate and death threats. If you have no sympathy for that just because he’s rich you have problems. Because and what if he’s got money that don’t help the threats and hate he suffered. It is a big deal when half of his so called fans wanted him dead. He disappeared for a while to find the right mental space. You go on to say you like and then continue to say you have no sympathy for him because he’s rich. One direction was 8 years ago so what trauma stays with you for life. find a heart

Me too, I though about him too. I just love him and the boys so much. It was obvious that those words weren't coming from the best place because he wasn't at the best place at the time. I just couldn't understand how people couldn't see it, that he was suffering so much. This video makes me very happy as we can see how he has managed to overcome all that pain. Anyone with any sense can see you're a decent person, you were going through some stuff but honestly it wasn't like you went in on anyone on that Logan podcast. You sort of said Zaynes has a hard time and maybe that's why certain behaviours existed. You could have said a LOT worse. Nice that you've apologised and I'm really glad you're in better place and getting wholesome, healthy hobbies. That's what I did after and during rehab years ago, now I do indoor climbing, cycling and kayaking, along with lots of painting, drawing and model making. I love it! I don't miss the drinking or running away from myself. I never followed One Direction or any of you in particular to be honest, but this came up on suggested after seeing the Logan podcast. Really glad I watched it! Sending love to you and your little boy ❤

It makes sense that Liam is trying to get us to like him; Liam was bullied. Early life for him was hard. Being born sick, being in pain for so long. Our childhood trauma is what shapes us. People made him feel like he was never enough. Like he was wrong for so long.
That has left an indelible scar on his person. No doubt, he has been traumatized and reminded of those moments of when he was bullied. No doubt, he felt like he was nothing, and no doubt, he’s scared.
I grew up with Liam, and no I don’t mean actually grew up with. I mean we’re the same age, I’m a bit older by a few months. I watched him in One Direction.
At first, he WAS kind of the leader. Not like directly, but he answered the questions the best. He was the most articulate. He was very mature. The other boys came into their own, and a few things happened then. He got pushed to the background, especially behind Harry. That’s got to fucking suck for someone who has felt irrelevant and forgotten. Especially with Harry becoming more successful.
The thing is….. Liam has ALWAYS had this kind of chip on his shoulder. He’s always wanted people to like him. He’s always needed to prove himself. But he’s fragile too. He had too much thrown at him at once and he COULD NOT cope with it.
During that interview with Logan Paul, what I saw was an upset person, an angry person, and a hurt person. What I saw was Logan Paul taking that person and manipulating them. Interviewers can do that, right? Get the star talking and give them enough rope to hang themselves with.
Liam needs outside validation because he, quite frankly, doesn’t believe in himself the way he needs to. That’s something you normally learn young. But being bullied doesn’t always allow for that. It’s easy to understand your self-worth as an adult. Not so much as a child.
I’m not excusing his behavior. What he said and the way he said it wasn’t right. It came from a swirling void of depression. One that he chose to try and fill with alcohol. Bad idea. It wouldn’t surprise me if he drank before that shit show with Logan Paul.
Hate the Paul brothers by the way. Hated them since that video in the Japanese forest. Hate the way they twist things and people for their gain.
That’s what they did to Liam.
Liam is responsible for his own words and for what he said, but it is undeniable he was pushed there.
And honestly, shame on people for jumping on him like that. It’s okay to tell someone they’re wrong. HE WAS WRONG. But it isn’t okay to hate him. To destroy him. To kick him while he’s down.
What if Liam ended up dead? What if he went off the fucking deep end? Words have power. Especially over someone who so clearly believed, and may still believe they’re worthless. People love celebrities, but they love to watch them crash and burn more. Fucking disgusting.
It’s sad, what Liam’s become and what he’s been through. It’s even more sad his self-worth doesn’t even belong to him.
You’ve hit the nail on the head, all the boys had so much going on, and we forget that they all had their own individual struggles , especially Liam.
I hate the Logan brothers with so much passion, I honestly hope for their downfall.
Liam was always made the leader, by giving him all the first solos, making him speak in all the interviews, we as fans used to joke and call him ‘daddy direction’ and kind of making him the lead of the band.
He had so much pressure and we don’t know what happened behind the scenes of one direction.
He even came out and told us about his drinking issues, and how the management was. I’m not surprised at how much anger and hurt is built up and when someone has that much anger, they tend to break at one point.
I’m glad the boys were all supportive though, Louis especially, no one was rude, zayn apparently reached out to him too which is honestly amazing and I’m glad they have that connection with each other.
I hate the management .. I hope each of the boys recover from the trauma of 5+ years, we will never grasp what actually happened.
The boys were so young when one direction happened, I can imagine, like us at that age, we thought we’d ride it out if we had the chance
But .. the stress, the fights in between, the resentment, and Liam being the ‘leader’ he couldn’t break down, or back out, he had to be front and centre , he felt like he had to prove something, and the idiots who sent death threats and hate don’t deserve to be called fans, even if they’re fans from way before.
@@Fauziia.a Exactly!! On the first album, he opened every song EXCEPT TWO. That tells you that they were marketing Liam as the frontman. They built him up. He had the most experience in the industry at that point, compared to the other boys, so it only made sense.
So all the pressure was on HIM. He had to perform well. He HAD to be the best. And he could not complain. He took that pressure and abuse. He probably did it as much for himself as he did the boys. He protected them until he couldn’t.
Bottom line, he has suffered enough. And he shouldn’t be rubbed in the dirt when he makes a mistake.
Louis called out Zach Sang for what he said about Liam in his tweet. No one from the band gave him shit because they KNEW what happened. And I know they discussed things with Management. At first Management was all about pushing Liam. Then the others blossomed, and Harry’s popularity skyrocketed, so they started pushing him instead of Liam. Those meetings changed and they flipped the script on Liam and pushed him to the background with the others the deemed not as vocally exceptional. That no doubt made him feel unwanted and he wasn’t good enough.
For anyone who tells someone who’s been bullied to off themselves, take your own advice because clearly you don’t value life. Bullying does shit to you, and he already struggles with his self worth and self image.
No wonder was so obsessed with the gym. No wonder he took up boxing. At one point he was the most chiseled of the boys. And he was definitely the biggest muscle-wise. That wasn’t for fucking show. He did that so he wouldn’t be messed with anymore.
And then these fucking assholes he went to school with or lived around called him an X-factor reject. He went fucking far his first time, he made it to the judge’s house. Did damn good for a 14 year old. He made it far and went for it. He did better than anyone else in his hometown. And those cowards used that achievement to berate him and called him a reject! Called him a reject even though they were too chicken to try to follow their dreams.
Liam. Fucking. Broke. And it’s happened more than once.
At first, they got to be themselves. That first album was fun, light. As the albums went on, even though the songs got better, they didn’t feel like THEM anymore. I like One Direction’s music, but I’d be stupid not to notice how much their Management tried to put them in boxes and tried to make them fit their molds.
Concerts seemed to be the only place they got to be them and relax a little. It’s hard to control a concert. Interviews sure. Photoshoots are pretty easy to manipulate. But concerts? Nah, there’s no way to control that all the time. You can’t go up on stage and micromanage them or else you’ll ruin the show.
That’s the only time I saw Liam really smile, during concerts. And I mean his real smile. The crinkly eyed, goofy ass smile he has when he’s truly happy. Hopefully it’s not gone. Because now, all I see when I look at Liam is him holding back tears.

Management were so shitty for making him feel like he’s the front man so he has to be perfect all the time, confident, funny but not too funny, mature but not too serious , a perfect singer since he has the experience, immune to everything because that’s how stardom is. I will never understand or grasp how much pressure they all had and I’m so glad Louis did what he did, he’s always been the one to not take shit, and if anyone talks about his band mates, best know, he’ll come after you.
The first Album, was fun, they were young, they all thought it was a chance to show the world what they can do, and slowly the fame built up, and they seemed to be loving all that was happening, when it came to take me home , you can see their vocals improving, slowly they were getting settled and everything was starting to get a bit more fast paced with the tours, the interview etc. When it got to the third album, that’s when I started seeing the change with all of them and they didn’t even have breaks, they started to crack, and quickly after, FOUR came out, with constant promo. They just stopped being themselves, You could tell Liam was being pushed back because the focus was on Harry, even Zayn saw this when contracts weren’t being signed, the management was going to push Harry so much that all the boys would’ve been left behind.
Tours made sure they could do what they want on stage, talk to the fans one to one, be around just the 5 of them, even if the whole world is watching, they just felt free.
Management were such little bitches, they thought, since the boys are all signed, they could do whatever the fuck they wanted.
They broke the boys.. Liam now feels he has to prove something. He sees everything going on, all the social media talks, he admitted his envy, and I would be too. Imagine being apart of something so big, only to be forgotten so soon…
But us Real fans would never forget such an important person, someone who we know can sing so well, and make us swoon, and fall in love with his voice.
Everyone is focused on Harry, and zayn, they don’t see that these boys, all of them have different talents and different genres in music but I absolutely love each and every one of them and their songs.
Liam’s song ‘depend on it’ just hits that sweet spot for me, it’s such an underrated song, and ‘remember’
Liam was a strong singer, when he made it to the judges house, he should’ve been very proud .. he was only 14.. that’s where my heart sinks, he was a baby, and people tried to call him a reject. That affects you a lot, when you think you can’t really sing, or you’re not as talented. So when he got told he was going to be in a band, you can tell his heart dropped slightly, you think to yourself, am I not good on my own ? So he kind of took that in and thought he had to prove himself a lot.
I always loved Liam, I felt he was always genuine, and he had his own character.. but people love to hate when they get the chance.
I can tell his issues in the past, had such an impact on him mentally, these illnesses are catching up and I don’t want to lose him.. I don’t think I can take the fact that we could potentially one day lose someone so important.. someone we grew up listening to, someone who has made a positive impact to our lives without knowing it.
I really want to see Liam smile like that.. I hope we get to see him soon, touring, making music on his own terms and bringing himself up

Zayn got the shittiest end of the stick right next to Liam. Hell, all the boys lost their worth in their Management’s eyes when Harry became the golden goose. Not blaming Harry, he never knew he’d be that popular, but their Management pit them against each other.
Zayn dealt with racism, an eating disorder and solid anxiety. He got the most hate. And his hate was different. The others got hated on for their abilities, but you can work on abilities. You can get better. Zayn dealt with racism. You can’t change your race. I’m not downplaying what happened to others, just what Zayn went through was different.
I feel bad for Liam, because sometimes it feels like he doesn’t know who he is anymore. He still tried to put himself in that toxic box their Management made for him. It’s like he doesn’t know how to be anyone else. There’s an interview on RUclips that’s about an hour and a half long were he admits he doesn’t know how to be happy and that he was suicidal.
The toxic fans hurt him worse than their Management. Death threats. Hate. Cancelling Him. Saying he’s the boring one. Or he’s too serious. It this video we’re commenting on, he looks traumatized! Like right now.
They forget Liam has been bullied. He’s been suicidal, he can’t take criticism the same. And he can’t focus on the millions of positive comments he gets. All he sees is the negative ones. Liam doesn’t believe in himself.
Once Harry blossomed to the point where he was leaving the others behind, Management probably didn’t even notice how he felt like he wasn’t good enough. And like you said he probably already had thoughts about not being good enough to make it by himself. And then to be pushed back into the background…..
But I wish he sounded more like himself in his songs. Remember was a good song because it spoke from his heart. I want to hear Liam, I want him to rediscover himself and who he is. Because I don’t think he knows who he is anymore.
I think his songs would be received better if he put more of himself in them. Because Liam is relatable. He could connect more with us, his fans, if he wrote about his pain and his envy. Because we understand it. We all know what it’s like to be beat down. We understand envy. We understand having to stand up tall even when it hurts.
I want more songs that sound like Liam. I want him to show us his beautiful soul.

I stopped listening to your songs and watching your videos once I went to uni (a bit after four got released). I was living with my parents before, getting insulted and abused everyday and I think 1D was my only way out, you guys always seemed so happy and were so funny and genuine (at least that's what we thought, we didn't realise you guys were hurting too).
So coming back to this is really weird, it's like it hurts but it's also so nice, so nostalgic (I guess that's what you guys feel too) but I'm now realizing I missed it, I really did.
Obviously all the drama that happened along the way went over my head but I had heard of a couple of things you apparently said about Zayn and the other boys. And it just didn't feel like you.
Like you were always so well-spoken, caring and nice in 1D. The one who seemed to take everything more seriously and would never ever say something that might hurt someone. So I was like "there's no way Liam said that or he just became one of those grumpy old persons".
