@@witcherye yeah I get that they want their favourite groups to win awards but sometimes people just need to sit down and think for a minute before they talk shit. BTS has done so much more only in 2021 than their favourites did ever since they debuted. And I don't get the hate. If the other bands are getting recognition worldwide it's because BTS paved the way for them. Experience, talent and hardwork are things that shouldn't be taken for granted.

Also the "favorite English word" or "favorite American food" type of questions sounds more like tourists Q&A than a artist interview. That's how I see it.

I am in this very small fandom of this still relatively new webtoon and I liked being in it because everyone was so encouraging and whatnot... then BTS made another webtoon and they were kinda rude about it on Discord.
Felt like being splashed by cold water because those few fans finally got me to work as creator again and were always positive but still just had to talk badly about the promotion for the webtoon that the Discord wasnt even about and then even sent the message like "watch those Freaks now come after me". Haven't talked to them in weeks though I still like the webtoon and support the artist. Its really dumb how people sometimes just carelessly hate for no reason.

there was another situation with that problematic show, the one rejecting the food Jungkook bought. I dont know why these edits never mention it but that show had voting parts were viewers would vote for the ones they want to be the comfortable team and Jungkook would always be at the top bc armys automatically voted for him. he started making secret signs to the camera as a way to tell armys to stop voting for him bc the other guys kept complaining and making comments so the burgers thing wasnt the only time they mistreated him
This is out of context. They changed the rules, so the one with the least votes would win. That part was just fun and games as they already knew who would win. JK ended up with second or third with the most votes I think, so most K-ARMYs stopped voting for him when he asked.

For the collab question in Forbes last week someone said “every US pop artist is begging to collaborate with BTS because it’s a guaranteed hit”.
It’s going to be BigHit against the world because MNet was pulling such BS against TXT at MAMA a few days ago (was it bad luck for them or retaliation for BTS not being there because they are on vacation?) so patiently waiting for the karma to hit. They cut off their speech, didn’t feature them on a thumbnail, messed up their sound on the choreography, had the worst camerawork I’ve seen for said choreography… so bad that Bighits choreographer commented on social media and BH posted the practice video before the awards show was even over. Didn’t anyone learn with BTS?
Amusingly BTS swept MAMA and got 4 more designs so they have over 60 desangs now and 9 awards total. Lol.
Also the Coldplay thing is especially funny since they collaborated and with My Universe the are now on BFF status with Coldplay.

About the questions…they literally been getting the same questions Over and over since 2017. Never about their music, never stuff I hear them ask American artists. Just “what do you wanna eat in America” as if they haven’t visited this country for award shows for years now. One man got to go Korea to eat dinner and interview with them and admitted his only research was a few google searches on the plane and he didn’t know all their names. A professional! This was his job! He wouldn’t do that if he was going to interview a western artist.
There is a interview out there, that V answered "Panda Express", when asked what American food did he like. It was hilarious...
It surprises me how much hate BTS get, they really are some of the most uncontroversial people on the planet. Even now Jin is getting backlash by some people in Japan for lyrics in Super Tuna.
The illogic of the "BTS are only successful because of their fans" statement is explained by the misogynistic view everyone has of ARMY. We are "screaming teen girls" to everyone so we are dismissed, our discernment is assumed to be clouded by hormones, and our taste is automatically undeveloped and biased. So the subtext that locals *really* mean with that sentence is "BTS have a bunch of hormonal teens lusting over them who have nothing better to do than create fake accounts to stream and stuff award ballot boxes. They are artificially inflating the talent of this little, Asian boy band and making it hard for real artists to get the awards they deserve."

As far as the Grammys are concerned, they don't even award American artists the way they deserve. They give awards based on agenda and play favorites. Eminem spoke up about the bs at the Grammys a couple times. Speaking as an American, I had no idea who BTS were until I discovered kpop back in 2018. Like, me as a person, I don't really watch tv and I'm not very active on social media/internet. I only happened across them while listening to a kpop station on Spotify at work.

Really that show kept BTS and ARMY there from night till I think 6am or something, forgive my terrible memory and I can't even remember the year 2017 2018 2019?? I am sure another ARMY will remember or google since I am lazy >.> BTS had to be somewhere that morning was it a concert or another show or end of the year event, hell I can't remember. Of course of course people industries pay radios to play songs. Of course they do. If they didn't then they wouldn't make any money. That's exactly how people make money. But the same level. That's exactly how smaller artists have to make money too. They have to convince other artists or other companies to also play their songs. That will be worth it versus the songs that are actually being played. But if people/ companies played both kinds of songs, the ones that were played by more recognized artists and recognized artist and let them actually judge on who they preferred to listen to. As a company you would make more listening to what the customers wanted to and less recognized. Artists would get more profit and recognition from it than just playing plane recognized artists already. Who knows. You could find a diamond in the rough that will bring in a lot of business, but you can't do that if you're only playing the same same thing every time.

I would just like to state... for the thing mentioned at 19:00 that bts is only popular because of their fans. Yeah, that's how it works... If a group or artist has fans, and the number of fans grows, that means they are popular. How is it any different to ANY other group or artist that is "popular"? in ANY country. You need fans or people that like your music or really anything you make be it art, music, clothes, etc.... Saying BTS is only popular because of their fans is like saying Beyonce is only popular because of her fans ((was going to try for a different example but I can't think of one))

Korea is still discriminating against BTS because so much of the media is corrupt by larger companies. But they still made it through and Korea can't fully ignore them(some shows and media still try and have done it), but it's still a problem with media downplaying their success and talking more highly about other groups and artists under other companies. Even BTSs junior group seems to be having some problems just because they are associated with BTS and HYBE (from what I understand, I don't follow them that closely).
What American and Korean media have in common is that BTS got big without them and BTS doesn't earn those platforms money directly because BTS doesn't need them.
