This is really weird because it randomly decides when it wants to work and when it doesn't. When it doesn't decide to work there's absolutely nothing I can do, I've tried following this tutorial completely, and I even added the program to my firewall. I also switched to different ports but nothing works. Could this be a Vtube Studio application problem? the computer side client says the server is up and ready while the phone client says connecting but never connects

If sometimes it randomly works and does not work, that almost sounds like it is trying to fight over which Wi-Fi to use. This is very fascinating. I would like to help figure this out with you so that we can all learn what to do and how to fix this problem. Pleasehelp I can get the USB working just fine but no matter what I do I cant get the wireless to work. I'm trying to have it set up with VSeeface but nothing connects.
Are you trying to use your device to work via usb cable or trying to use wi-fi? It might be counteracting trying to connect to one or the other. Try checking your wi-fi settings, and that your VTube Studio on the PC and phone match - sometimes these can change. Check seeing if a firewall could be stopping it and allow it to run. If these don't help, check out the comments down below, and if you're still stuck then shoot me another message. We can troubleshoot it together if you'd like.
@@nikulaswraith I tried using USB and then turned it off and tried Wifi as well. Since neither worked I just switched to ifacialmocap and that works just fine. Idk what’s up with vts cause i had no problem with these programs 🤷♂️ but thank you sm for responding

@@namcha__lm try doing this. With both programs open, turn off connection (toggle) from phone and then turn back on. Sometimes it catches. If that doesn’t work, then please let me know.

@@namcha__lm Ah okay I see. I did not know that it was an android phone, I will have to do a little bit of research on that, but I will get back to you soon. If it catches sometimes, it could be the wifi connection, sometimes the ip addresses change on VTS, so you may want to check that as well.

I followed these steps but when I re-opened Vtube studio it didn't ask me a firewall question? I'm not sure how to force it to prompt? I only had 192 files get verified.
Okay, so let's see what's going on. Are there any error messages it's giving you, or just the program itself running with no prompt? Also, is it a connectivity issue with your camera to VTube Studio or something else? I'll be happy to help you out!

@@amaruvt Got ya - Sometimes even double checking the wi-fi can help, disconnect from it and reconnect to it, but disabling firewalls can work as well. Just remember to turn it back on! :) I'll do some more research on how to narrow it down to see if that might be the issue. How interesting, that wasn't the case before but maybe some updates changed that. It should be streaming from your phone to the computer where VTS is at without the need to load in your own model. @@pc49. Thabks for the question! Since Meowface isn’t a VTube studio program, it might be recognized as a plugin and you would have to allow permissions on it. When you’re in the main menu on VTS, scroll down to where you see “plugins” and see if that’s enabled. After that, you might be able to get it to function. I have never used meowface before so I am not too knowledgeable on that, but try that option first to see if you have enabled 3rd party applications. Let me know what happens please!
@@nikulaswraith so i looked for a plugin for meowface, theres none so im kinda sad and i did enable 3rd party applications but still wouldnt connect while also having zero information about it in the internet other than paid alternatives. vts mobile app does work for me in android but for some reason and also the main reason, why im looking for alternatives is that, i couldnt change the tracking option for android so it was horrible.
ok so i played around with the firewall on my pc and after a while i managed to unblocked vtubestudio, i validated ALL the files on steam but it still wont connect im so frustrated rn, anyone have any tips ???
@@marxytheoni Did anything change between the last time you used VTS? Maybe a new router or IP on your computer or phone? What are you using currently for tracking, iPhone or web cam?
@nikulaswraith I use iPhone 11 and the only that was happened was the phone not finding a connection to my PC. Both are updated and run on the same wifi

for me vtube studio doesnt work with wireless or usb, and its so frustrating. I've checked almost everything and with the wireless, my phone just says "Connecting..." forever and never actually connects
@@cuyami2103 got ya, so let’s see about doing a couple of things. 1. Make sure that your computer is connected to the wifi you want to use and your phone is connected to the same WiFi. Then match up the IP addresses on both devices. 2. Check the integrity of your steam files by going to options and clicking on validate files. (Might take a bit of time but will tell you if there is an error) If those don’t work and the video didn’t work, please let me know and we can troubleshoot a little bit further. :)
@@nikulaswraithsame here! I even made sure my firewall accepted vtubstudio. So I’m not sure where to go from there. It’s just stuck saying connecting and the usb won’t work for me right now (I have an iphone15 if that helps)

Let's see, the default port should be 25565 ( 2 - 5 - 5 - 6 - 5 ) so you might try changing that and see if there's any solution. Next, are you using iPhone to connect to VTube Studio? In a recent reply, someone had mentioned that their firewall on their computer was causing the issue, so you might take a look at your settings to verify that it is allowing connectivity to VTube Studio. If it's still having an issue after that, I can do a Voice Call with you on Discord to see what we can try to do. Feel free to leave me another comment if you're interested and if we get it working again, we can post the answer in here.
@@OniOda I also just had this same exact problem last night for my subathon and my phone wouldn't connect to VTube Studio. I checked the files and revalidated and 4 were missing and still wouldn't connect. It wasn't until this morning I remembered there's 2 different Wi-Fi devices in my home and it was connected to the wrong one. So check that and see if that could also be the issue. If it still causes problems, let me know and we can figure it out.
Try checking the IP address, (if you’re using iPhone to connect to it instead of normal webcam) sometimes the modem might update and change the IP address. Let me know if that works, and if not, I’ll help troubleshoot it with you if you’d like.
@@nikulaswraithyes I was finally able to get it to work. Most of the time my phone won’t connect but I can still use my pc camera when it doesn’t so I guess it’s a win win

Let’s see what we can do. I can think of a couple of things which might work but it’s all chance. 1. Try checking your internet connection (if you’re using iPhone then make sure the IP addresses match) because sometimes there’s 2 different addresses. 2. Try resetting your router (off and on) and reconnect your wifi on your devices you’re using for VTube Studio. 3. Try loading one of the default models in VTube Studio and see if it’s the same issue or not. 4. Save all of your files for your model, record all of your parameters so you can input the same data, only use this one for a last measure and delete VTube Studio and reinstall from stream. Before you try the last one, let me know if the others worked or not and I’d like to help you figure out what’s causing the issue.
@@nikulaswraith i have tried 1-3 already. I tried to do 4 but steam wasn't letting me delete it idk why. I would try the USB way but its confusing me so bad. I've looked all over the internet and it says that paying to use it might work, but I'm worried I'm gonna just waste $23.
