      I own of the master Bushmans and I really love the knife I own a few of William's knives. The Master Bushman is one of my favorites and it is one of my favorite E.D.C knives I also carry the blackbird or the WCSK as an E.D.C knife. Great video I am a big fan of yours and William's videos keep up the great work.

    I just started to the vanlife and this knife is perfect for me. I need this knife. Well, I should say that my start to vanlife had been delayed because on the second day (I just finished converting the van to an RV) I was rear ended hard by a big truck. Now it's going to be another 3 months until repairs are finished. I hope I can find one of these to buy while I'm waiting.
    Thanks for the video

    I received my master bushman in early November and i love it. Sharpening is not a problem. The angle of the grind is the same the entire length, you just have to make sure you match your stone or steel or ceramic rod to the angle of the grind It came scary sharp. WC has some videos on sharpening his knives. Check them out.

      I have both the Master Bushman and the Jr. Woodsman. My advice is to go with the Master Bushman if you are primarily into Bushcraft, go with the Jr Woodsman if you are more into hunting and skinning. Search for my video Episode 3 Knives for the Trapline to see the Jr Woodsman doing some skinning.

    Fabulous knife review Matt! You knowledge is top shelf, and I really appreciated how you walked us through how the knife functions with all of those tasks. I was especially impressed and learned a lot as you talked about the different ways to utilize the knife handle. I've seen other reviewers just talk about the specs or abuse a knife, but you differentiate yourself by showing your knowledge on what a knife is meant for. Great job!

      I totally understand how you feel on that as I wasn't too keen on the idea but once I got the opportunity to work with this style of knife, I really came to appreciate the design and no doubt it is well design and masterfully executed. I am just glad that I am not limited to only one style of knife because I love my traditional blades but I really enjoy using these as well. Thanks for tuning in Chuck!

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  2 года назад

      That's a really tough call! If you want a thicker "heftier" knife the Master Bushman would be the one. I have to say the Jr. Woodsman is one of my favorite WC Designs and I have used it much more. If you want more of a finesse knife for fine carving, notching, etc, the Jr would probably be my choice as the 1/8" thickness makes it feel a little more nimble to me. Both of them can do that stuff well, I have always liked that slimmer profile of the Jr though. I hope that helps and I know whichever you choose, you will have a great knife! Take care.

    I haven’t bought a WC knife ever since he started doing the ugly bill boarding. Really wish he’d go back to stamping his knives. Ended up going to Carothers for all of my AEB-L needs. Not a fan of the nitro V. Not as good as AEB-L. William is a fantastic knife maker. Unfortunately mass production has ruined his products for me. Good review.

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  2 года назад

      5/32? 5/32 is not very thin in the knife world. To each his own and I am not sure what your qualifications are for a knife but for me personally, anything thicker than 5/32 is too thick to be useful for most fine knife skills. If you watched this all the way, you can see what type of stuff I use a knife for. You may have a total different use. I guess that is the beauty of having countless designs out there, something for everyone.

    • @greedygringoprospecting6941
      @greedygringoprospecting6941 2 года назад

      @@blackhatbushcraft to thin you have to use it. CRAP. !!! or use a medford. ,buck knife. something other then your butter knife. even kepharts knife was thicker than that.

    • @blackhatbushcraft
      @blackhatbushcraft  2 года назад

      @@greedygringoprospecting6941 Bro I hate to tell you but you are totally wrong here. You need to check your measurements. 5/32 is WAY thicker than any of those knives. Horace Kephart's knife was approximately 1/8" thick and tapered. Just do a google search on how thick was Horace Kephart's knife? Then do a search on what is thicker "5/32 or 1/8"." I think you will better understand at that point. I also looked up the BK24, yeah that knife is 0.151 thickness VS. this knife which is 0.15625. Even if the knife was too thin for your preference, that doesn't make it crap. Best to keep those labels for stuff you have handled or tested yourself.
