Love this one. As a consumer, it doesn't really matter to me if this "was needed". Happened to get a sample of this and now definately buying this. Yes, overpriced, but thankfully this is not a perfume that needs to be sprayed excessively. I love the way oud comes to play with tobacco and honey after initial spray. You have to like honey to like this one. It is the one note that remains strong throughout.
Wow so happy to see another video from you!! Just found your channel a few days ago and was worried you weren’t inspired to upload anymore,, life does move us forward in news ways. Then to my surprise this is here… thank you,, more please 🌿 I’m sniffing my way through your content 👩🏼🎤
Put me in the shoulder-shrugging group on this one. Very nice, but tobacco is not my thing and at those prices I would want it to curl my toes and walk the dog. Great review, Mr. P.
A favourite fresh citrus, slightly spicy tobacco fragrance I love is Extrême Pureté by Gres (which is also extremely affordable). Very unique and well blended perfume I enjoy all year round. I would imagine Dyptique coming out with a fragrance like this.
@@L-Ondee Etat de Grace by Grès, from the same line, it's a cosy fresh but warm, floral amber fragrance with a beautiful cinnamon. It gets often compared to Grand Soir. A very comforting scent I wear during cold dry days
Also my favorite tobacco perfumes would be by Kilian's Back to Black, Serge Lutens Chergui, MM Replica Jazz Club, and 4160 Tuesdays' Hush Hush, which is supposed to be more cigarette paper than tobacco, but it's also worth a mention.
Tobacco perfumes are not my favorite kind but if I had to choose a few I would rather take Caron's Tabac Blond and Parfum d'Empire's Tabac Tabou. Tobacco Honey smelled very thick, dense and overly sweet to me. Not to my liking. I would like to know what you think of the new L'art et la Matière extracts.
I find this very fitting for the Arts et Matière line. As you already pointed out it gives you what one expects. It is well done and quite pricey. The honey is very much in your face. For a honey note I would definitely prefer Piver's Cuir de Russie. It smells more natural and more interesting over all. No tobacco in it though.
My favorite tobaccos are listed below. If I had to narrow it down to only two "must-try" recommendations of those below, then it has to be Villoresi Atman Xaman and Santa Maria Novella Acqua di Cuba. They're essential entrants in the "tobacco fragrance" canon. The list: Carner Barcelona Sandor 70's Czech & Speake Cuba Eau d'Italie Bois d'Ombrie Hilde Soliani Bell'Antonio Lalique Noir Premier Or Intemporel 1888 Les Indemodables Vanille Havane Lorenzo Villoresi Atman Xaman EDP Masque Milano Montecristo Rasasi Oudh Al Boruzz Abeer Malaysia Santa Maria Novella Acqua di Cuba
Amongst the guerlain line, I think it fills a spot within their offerings that otherwise would be absent done in their style. On me as a woman who particularly enjoys their line, especially oud nude, khol and cherry, this is wearable but leans more masculine as it dries down (on me). There are several other nice tobacco honey type scents, were I to add one to my collection I prefer the softer vanilla touches in TF tobbaco vanille though even that leans slightly masculine on me in the dry down but less so than this guerlain. If you love the guerlain style and the commonality that runs throughout, I think it’s a beautiful scent, well blended, balanced and very wearable :)
@@Persolaise I would love to see your thoughts on cuir beluga and the new feve gourmande if you have access to that fragrance for review :) According the the US site it’s online only and it is available for purchase currently! I haven’t seen any reviews yet or comparing to the original gourmand coquin
Tried this a month back and did not like the drydown. Also, too much tobacco and too little honey. Maybe the weather was too warm. I am eagerly awaiting their cocoa fragrance Fève something-something.
When I smelled Guerlain's Tobacco Honey, I kept thinking that it would be amazing as a candle that I would buy on a whim. But for a perfume, I don't need it, tho I won't mind if any wore it around me.
I had the same candle association and realized it is because Guerlain's Tobacco Honey smells very much like the unfortunately limited edition Byredo x Ikea's Tobacco and Honey candle.
@@queenp1n Oh yeah, definitely, it also reminds me of Diptyque's Narguilé candle. It's not the same but they share that tobacco honey notes. If you miss Byredo x Ikea's candle, I recommend Narguilé.
I wonder how it compares to Diptyque's Volutes? I only have a sample but sounds similar in terms of the notes. It has tobacco, honey, iris, and some spice.
I love pipe tobacco smell! Maybe because it reminds me of my brother's curiosity for Karl Marx's body of work when he was a university student and used to smoke a pipe and grew a Stalin mustache to complete the intellectual persona 🤣. If this even remotely captures the essence of pipe tobacco, I need to buy him a bottle. 🙏
I tried Tobacco Honey soon after it came out and thought it was pretty boring: synthetic (almost harsh) tobacco and a little sweetness. Not really what I expected from L'Art & La Matière line, both based on the previous releases and the price. My favourite tobacco scents are Naxos and Tobacco Vanille. You could argue Naxos isn't really a tobacco fragrance because it plays a supporting role to other notes - fine, maybe that's how I prefer it.
@@Persolaise I suppose if this fragrance was released by Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss or Azarro, I'd give it praise, but Guerlain set a much higher set of standards and on that basis the evaluation is a bit different.
Favourite tobacco scent? Fan your flames by Nishane. Although my beloved Nimitr by Prin gives off a wonderful tobacco note on my skin so maybe that takes top spot.
Tobacco Honey smells exquisite on me. I normally don’t like unisex fragrances, I want to smell feminine but on me, this starts out unisex but settles into what I think is a feminine leaning honey smell. I adore it. I’m looking forward to trying Feve Gourmande. I already ordered my bottle.
This is my new favourite scent. Guerlain magic at its finest. Absolutely divine.
I’m so pleased you like it.

It's wonderful that you enjoy it.
Thanks very much for watching.
What irritates me the most is the price. Tobacco and honey should not cost $380 for 100ml💸
It's certainly not cheap.
Its a total ripoff, this should be $199-220
Please do a top 10 tobacco perfumes!
Great idea, thank you.
So off topic: nice glasses!! Took me a while to see them!! ✌🏽 Nice content as usual, thanks for your time and knowledge!!1
Thanks very much indeed.

Thanks very much. I'm not planning on stopping any time soon.
I am looking forward to your review of this very expensive Guerlain perfume.
Thanks very much.
I mix this with YSL Libre to make it a bit more interesting and feminine and to make Libre more smoky. I need to have smoky.
Wonderful. Thanks for watching.

It's very enjoyable to wear.

Atman Xaman by Villoresi is a fine cigar-ish tobacco scent.
Thanks for the tip!

I'm told it's basically the same scent as GC.@@lexp6021
Thank you for sharing your impressions! Did you notice any difference on paper versus on skin when you gave it a full wearing?
Not a massive difference, but maybe the woody notes are stronger on skin.
Ex Idolo "ryder" is a very, very well done tobacco amber.
Ah yes -- that's a good one too.

“Tobacco, Honey” is more in the style of TF in my opinion 😂
Very true!
Did you ever try tobacco flower from the body shop? Love chergui too, I'm saving for it atm.
No, I don’t think I did ever try that one. I hope you get your Chergui soon.

I seem to remember Volutes was more faceted, and somehow more abstract.
