What experience does it take to become a auto wrap.. cause I wanna work in a place that wraps cause I'm really good with hands on stuff. But I have 0 experience.
#noitisnt while yes, prep is the most important part (bc the dirt/grime/cleaning portion is the more important area of prep)...stripping a car down to the vehicle's frame is a good way to lose money/time/jobs turned down due to lack of time/etc for so many reasons, the number one being that the more unnecessary shit you take off the car, the more likely you are to break something nice that you aren't going to want to be on the hook for....let's say that diffuser the dude was yanking on & couldn't get off was some fancy af aftermarket part and more money than any of the other parts on there and you end up breaking it since you haven't worked with one before....well, now you're basically out the profits made from the wrap job (and then some, in some cases) unless you're ballsy enough to call up the customer and tell them that you broke their fancy shit and that, " hey on a totally unrelated note by the way, your quote just doubled in price...that okay by you?" while garagekeeper's insurance can cover a lot of that, who tf gets jacked up about going to work to resolve some drawn-out insurance claim (besides the agent making commission off of it)..? window trim, mirrors, handles, sharkfins, anywhere that will have road dirt/grime...yes, absolutely. remove it, 100%. that's entirely necessary...but aside from possibly breaking something, nowadays there are like a billion tools from multiple different brands for tucking vinyl into tight nooks + corners, etc...save yourself the time and hassle (and possibly money when all is said and done) and only remove what's necessary...jesus, that was way more of a rant than I had expected now that I look up at it....huh.
