Damn, I'm surprised how much the crew cares about Sienna the most when she's gone. And am surprised at how much she cares about everyone even Saltzpyre.
A good soul isn't blackened by those around us. She can see the good in him, she sees the good in all of them. That's why they all miss her the most, she's the emotional glue that holds them together.
@@RincewindlIt truly is telling how others could say the same about the rest
I’ve seen countless of times where people said that *Kruber* was the one keeping the crew together and I can see some saying that bardin is the one keeping their spirits up.
As for saltzpyre and Kerillian? That depends on several factors really.
Still, it shows how each individual member lost is a part that is lost of U5 spiritually.
The reality of the situation is Saltz does trust Sienna, even back at Ubersriek, in Vermintide 2 he even talks about her return to regular service in the imperial army or with the colleges of magic
Sienna and Victor have a mutual relationship of guilt.
Sienna freed her sister and cost many innocent lives because of it, and she is glad to have found a jailer that understands that mistakes are human and didn´t immediately burn her, i guess. And Saltzpyre sentenced an innocent girl to burn on the stake, he want´s to be judged for it, but his Order didn´t see any problem and now he´s ridden with guilt noone seems to want to detest him for.
Sienna is power aunt.
>The elf's gone. It's quieter already.
Oh goodness me, my sides.
Which one was it? Missed it
@@averageeughenjoyer6429 Kruber about Kerillian
@@Janfon1 Based Kruber
heard that one in quickplay a lot
Tbh I heard a bit of pain in that line. That change in tone at the end digs deep. Kerillians lines about kruber as well have that same tinge of sorrow
The combination of Kerillian's pose coupled with the maximum E D G E of the song sent my sides into orbit.
It IS fitting
@@librarian5657 I dunno, considering the lyrics are literally about committing suicide cos you've no fucks to really give and only want to go out on your own terms. It goes a lot against Kerillian's own viewpoints and overall character.
@@PunishedVenomDrake true, but it's also sadly gotten the reputation of being the biggest edgy song ever. That rep isn't entirely unfair, but people use it to meme about a character being edgy despite the lyrics not fitting them.
@@High-LordHarza I never could see it as edgy, if I'm being completely honest. But it always did have that feeling of trying too hard. Such is the curse of butt rock
Papa Roach outta NOwhere
I was very pleased
Kerillian: For Kruber's sake, I hope Sigmar is real...
Also Kerillian: ANYWAYS, mayflies, amirite?
She is coping hard.
There is something sweet about the way Kerilian says "For Kruber's sake, i hope Sigmar is real"
It was very kind of her to say. Even if she thought he was an idiot and a mayfly she does hope he found peace in death
The slight voice break when she says that does it for me
@@randomcenturion7264 she actually shows certain respect towards Markus in her usual lines, because he never pretended he wasnt a simpleton (until he discovered his knightly ancestry...), but is very good in his field - the one most needed at the moment like The End Times. She's definitely less respectful towards Saltz
@@meltdown4126 Understandable since, evidently, Viktor couldn't give less of a shit if she died or not.
@@randomcenturion7264 its not even their personal dynamic, its about Saltz being pompous and adamant in his ignorance, by elven standards. Its about Saltz being Saltz, basically
Kerillian always pretends she doesn't care, but she does. She actually does. To the point of invoking Druchi goddess Drakira.
Drakira is not Druchii exclusive tho. Wood elves worship whole pantheon.
@@MagicznyCysiu High elves did too. Up to a point.
Cope. Seethe. Weave.
they still do in lore, @@BIGESTblade but high and dark elf don’t have her full attention because both want revenge
"What in Drakira's name is in this bottle?"
She does care, just won't show it, even to herself
I love how much character they're able to convey in just a few lines of mourning. Bardin is enraged by the fact his friends have been taken, Kruber is struggling with the PTSD of repeat events but trying to focus on the job, Saltzpyre speaks as if he's giving a eulogy, Sienna sounds almost frustrated, this is likely not the first time she's lost friends, and Kerillian, well...
This isn't the first time for her, youre correct
Even Kerillian sounds kind of dejected/enraged at her comrades' deaths. Her words are somewhat "matter of fact" but she's clearly holding emotions back.
And sometimes she's just rude.
@@Lord_Hengari say the last two lines are kinda her holding back her emotions but still being herself
"we're *short* a dwarf"
Kerillian herself seems to be afraid of connecting with others, probably because all 'mayflies' in her life left her at some point so she doesn't want closeness. But that's just armchair psychology of a character based on few lines of dialogue
I think Kruber's colder reactions can be attributed to the Ostland event he experienced. Wasn't that when he was a lone survivor from a massacre of his regiment? Seems he has PTSD
A necromancer butchered his entire regiment, yeah. Makes it all the more impactful we're facing off a necromancer ourselves now
Yeah PTSD is likely. His whole unit probably got torn apart by that necromancer casting Winds of Death or worse have the dead rise from below and see your friends get eaten alive....
Don't forget likely survivors guilt.
Yep, man’s used to losing friends, as depressing as that is
Yeah his reactions seem very business-like
The Kerillian segment is gold. I am surprised how Markus wasn't as emotional as I would figure.
He's lost too many already, this would be just another scar to bear
@Versok yeah, I thought it might be because he's so jaded already
He's used to loss, so he understands he needs to focus on the job at hand and mourn later.
Also remember, besides the dwarf he drinks the most. So much pain to drink away
Markus is written to say jokes. That's what he do... gets old though.
Honestly, Saltz has some of the best things to say about his fallen companions … except the elf
She killed an entire nuln regiment coming to support
Which caused alot of problems
Either good or nothing at all that's how it works.
Tbh I would say both Kerillian and Salt both have little to say at each others passing; which is kind of a good thing?
Like both don’t crack a joke (If Kerillian did make a joke it’d show she cared about him more than she let on and she’s trying to hide it) or have anything bad to say; just shows me I’m not wrong when I think there’s a light amount of respect between them.
"we are a dwarf"

SALTZPYRE OUT HERE WITH THE MOST HEARTWARMING MOURNING TOWARDS BARDIN AND KRUBER HOW-
It made me smile to see how much he genuinely cared for them, he's very subtle in how he shows the ways he cares, but in those moments it's very apparent.
Last hero standing description:
Bardin: stoic defiance fueled by rage for lost comrades.
Keuber: sorrow induce ptsd with dark humor and self pitying.
Kerillian: elfic sense of smugness hiding emotional damage for the lost of her comrades.
Saltzpyre: inner cold fury in silent pragmatism.
Sienna: concerned but still enflamed by a sense of vengeance.
I love how emotional kerillian gets when she loses sienna :)
3:19 the subtle ‘Oi!’ From Bardin is comedy gold Janfon
I like to think that when Saltzpyre uses his class ability as a witch hunter were his last man standing lines.
All of them seem to fit perfectly on him being surrounded and alone.
being last standing, surrounded and spam WHC ult with unending hunt lmao, this is just so epic
Not an ult line but "Dying? NO! I will overcome these heretics, I will!" is my favorite line of his and fits the sheer determination of a last man standing as well.
Also I havent seen any edits or even just raw voice line uploads of this quote anywhere which is a shame. Maybe papa Janfon could do something with it in the future 👀
In some way I like the idea of him only shouting battlecries while he still has allies by his side, that they were never for his own sake but to inspire those around him.
But now that he stands all alone, there's no one left to hear his words. There's no point to it anymore, so instead he focuses on the only thing left that matters - taking as many foes of Sigmar down with him as he can.
AWAIT YOUR TURN AT JUDGEMENT, HERETICAL ONES!
or
YOU CANNOT ESCAPE JUDGEMENT, WRETCHES!!!
1:12 When a dwarf is "In a foul mood", you are in for a world of hurt.
Always liked this one.
I remember the banter between characters growing in Vermintide 1 as the campaign progressed. Everyone is rude to each other at the start, even Kruber is sarcastic towards Saltzpyre, his employer. But then near the end you get Salts saying "I order you not to die Sergeant." And Kerillian has a line when Bardin dies "Go in peace, son of Karak Norn." Really showed the growth amongst the Ubersriek 5 - two phenomenal games.
Kerillian in particular has a very well done arc over the course of the two games. She’s aloof and not that concerned with the others at the start of 1, but slowly warms up to them in spite of herself. As she starts to realize this, she doubles down on being smug and caustic, trying to hide that she cares at the start of 2. Then as she has her crisis of faith and makes what may have been a very big mistake, a lot of her walls come down and we see her have a lot more open conversations with the others. After that point, she still engages in her needling because that’s just how she is, but there’s a palpable connection between her and the others, loathe as she would be to admit it.
@@nerdyvids1They might be mayflies but they're her mayflies
Bardin - the one who cares about everyone equally
Kruber - a soldier going through the same trauma again
Kerrillian - the one with zero chill
Saltzpyre - Absolute mad respect towards Bardin and Kruber. Almost none for Kerillian and Sienna
Sienna - really cares about others (even if that's just Kerrillian)
He respected Sienna quite a bit honestly. "She earned a measure of redemption before the end"
Idk, he showed sorrow over Sienna. Literally saying she got her redemption.
He is restricting himself even in her death.
She had her uses.
He can't miss to say something, but he can't make himself say it any kinder than that
if you take the elf out of the team, they all actually care about each other
the entire team dies
kruber getting pstd of his regiment that died by an single necromancer and horde of zombies
ah shit here go again
3:16 bruh, she brought him back to life by calling him short 🤣
Short?! No alliance!
Aye, that’s a grudgin’.
"We are short a dwarf!"
High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer: *"SHORT?"*
i love bardins last stand voicelines, he may not come out victorious but he sure will take down as many rasknit he can on the way
Khazukan Kazakit-ha
Dawi stubbornness is often maligned but when there’s nothing left but a last stand there’s nobody better to have around.
I have heard his last man standing voice lines many times while playing slayer and emerged victorious
This is interesting. Last week I wounded up alone as Warrior Priest and one of my friends even said: "holy shit saltzpyre doesn't give a shit, he won't say anything" and i thought the voice line just bugged because I used my ult right when someone died. Our engineer ragequitted for he had no faith. I rescued our Kruber first and he helped me with the rest. We all persevered and finished that mission, for Sigmar blesses the ones with focus, camaraderie and will to fight even in the face of doom.
FOR SIGMAR AND THE EMPIRE!
Good format, having them do all the "X is dead" lines first followed by the all alone lines. Adds narrative to the... Narrative
"We are >short< a Dwarf"
[OI!]
Oh, you best believe that's a grudgin', elf! 😂
0:44 the sheer rage in that line, god I love this games cast and directing.
You genuinely feel like Bardin is about to go on a rage filled massacre to avenge a fallen friend.
The team did such a great job to display how these characters care about eachother in their own ways despite having been strangers that mostly can't stand eachother just a short time ago.
I heard 1:27 once when I was an Ironbreaker. Clutched the match because of it.
One of my favorite lines. Had a game where it was just me and Sienna left. It didn't play the last Dwarf standing line but instead was this line.
It was a Legendary Difficulty at Fort Ubersreik and the line really got my blood flowing. Had been dealing with Gutterrunners and Plague Witches the whole last quarter.
Losing our Hand Maiden and Grail Knight had already spurred me as a Slayer. But losing our Fire Mage to a Black Rat?
"I'LL GUT YOU FOR THAT RAKI!!"
This is proof that Bardin is factually, objetively, best boy.
"Ha! Let's see what I can do now that mayflies aren't holding me back"
Refuses to elaborate
Leaves
Gets overhead strike from Chaos Warrior 5 seconds later
Kruber is so used to losing good men, at this point losing his closest friends barely phases him in the battlefield. really shows how much war Kruber has seen.
"Like Ostland all over again" Oh kruber, you traumatized soldier
Poor dude cant catch a break
"We are >>>short

I thank thee for this 🙏 its great to hear.
Even the elf. Ugh
Even though I understand that Kruber has faced many horrible deals in his younger years, it stills feel wrong, for me, to see him a bit out of the picture when one or all falls. I do think that Salt or Kerilian are the ones who can be the most pragmatic about facing death and losses, and Bardin the most brokenhearted of the four on this point. I was really hoping to hear Krub to be between them... Oh well.
It's not just 'horrible deals', Kruber has dealt with this exact thing many times. He is too used to losing friends, and that's just how he copes.
@@peasantking2622 I find it perfect, he's trying to holding the trauma back but it glimpses through is voicelines, just with the first one "Like Ostland, all over again.." Deep inside he is broken but he still have to fight
Kinda sad in its own way, how he can deal so well. Being the one that has been in war the most after all
Imagine Kruber being in this same scenario, but instead of knowing the U5 crew for a few years at most, it's his best and closest friends he has grown up with and known most his entire life. Now imagine that happening *TWICE.* Once with his middenball team, and once with his regiment. Now it's happening a *third* time with the U5 crew. How many times can you let yourself experience the worst possible trauma before you stop cracking?
The thing I pick up from Kerllian is that although she speaks harshly I feel its her coping mechanism in way. Come across like you don't care so nobody keeps picking away at you as deep down you actually care.
Or she's just a racist knife ear like they all are
It shows when she said "all mayflies fade away, but I'll miss them all the same".
She's an elf who lived for most likely thousands of years and must have seen many mortal companions share the same fate in the end.
Drama queen alert.
@@jamescawl6904 On top of that, she likely feels guilt that her actions lead to their deaths and her current sense of loneliness. Gives off a very "This are the consequences of my actions" type acknowledgement vibe.
@@FerretCuddles You’re a miserable person at heart I see…

0:13 Azumgi ? Azumgi ?! Azumgiiiiiiiii !!!
Do do do do-do! Duh duh duh!
I don’t know why but the line “a good man is gone” when talking about Kruber’s death really struck a note with me
Kruber is used to seeing mates and brothers-in-arms die. Hell, his entire regiment was wiped out, leaving him the only sole survivor. No wonder that he is using dark humor and unemotional quips to cope.
He probably expects to die too, seeing as how he's alone against a nigh-endless swarm of skaven.
Neat tid bit: Bardin's final line with Sienna's death doesnt have him say "nay" it has him say "nai" which is khazalid for "no"
Sienna is like the mother of the crew. A good amount of her dialogue is breaking up fights and showing sympathy. She also seems very wise for a pyromaniac. The elf seems to care about her the most, weird seeing how she lacks a lot of those qualities.
Wouldn't you think that's exactly the reason why? Sienna is probably her role model in some way or another, and IIRC several conversations does show that they have one of the better genuine 'dyadic' relationships out of all of them.
Could've sworn I heard Saltzpyre say, 'Alone?! This will not end well...'
that's dialogue you get if you stray too far from the group
Aye that one’s generic. It plays whenever you’re alone in general, not just last man standing
I need this picture of Kerrilian squatting and I need ASAP

When Janfon1 posts, my life becomes less boring and it puts a smile on my face.
Umgak for the win.
Kruber will always be my boy. I love his playstyle, I love his personality, I love his voice.
to be honest I was sorta expecting Barding to have more to say about Kruber
Bardin is the kind of comrade that you would want on the trenches beside you.
I'd have Bardin and Kruber, ideally. Maybe Sienna.
I like the other two, but I wouldn't want to be depending on them in a situation like that.
Bah, i hope we get some Last Hero Stasnding dialogues for Saltz one day, i believe he could have some epic poems about Sigmar's rage to fuel his desire to fight till the bitter end
One could argue his actions in that moment speak more than a thousand words could.
He’d be in too much pain to do so. The other four are probably the closest to friends Saltzpyre ever had. Witch hunters keep themselves aloof on purpose so they can face the horrors inflicted on them by what goes bump in the night a little easier. Stopping even for a moment and acknowledging that he’s alone once more would be too much to bear, I think.
I think kerillian is the most misunderstood character. Keep in mind, she is the oldest character int he party, she has likely lost friends before. She is obviously attached to the party, but doesnt want to be because she knows there will be a time where she outlives all of them, even if they do survive all of this. She has gotten pretty attached to sienna but still tries to distance herself, as she doesnt want to have to deal with the pain of losing her more short lived friends. its like a pet owner or pet breeder trying not to get too attached to their pets for their own sake, to avoid the hurt that will come with their eventual deaths. Elves are much more emotional than anyone else, after all. imagine the pain of losing a good friend, but amplified.
Saltz: has only 2 lines for the Elf, does not give a fuck
So that’s why I relate so much to my brother in Sigmar.
1:21
is he calling his fallen comrades dawi here?
That's really sweet coming from a dwarf
He always calls them that, alongside their own nicknames in khazalid - azumgi, grimgi, zharrin and wutelgi
I thought he called them "dawri," which is pretty polite coming from a dwarf.

I do like the fact that several times in Kerillian’s lines her mask slips a bit and you can hear the strain in her voice trying to act like she doesn’t care
I like how almost everyone is saddened by Siennas death
Sienna's the cool aunt.
5:55 It sounds less like Sienna is mourning the loss of a dear comrade in arms and more like she's scolding a dog

@@dianamunoz4296 thats the joke
I was serching for this. thx for ur job
Kerillian really does care but assuming being immortal with age and expecting it to happen to everyone as she’s seen countless die before her she’s just used to everyone around her dying
It’s nice that practically everyone takes Sienna’s death the hardest she is the one who everybody cares for the most no doubt
Saltz even has respect for her generally
Just realized that it makes a lot of sense for Sienna to show the most emotion out of the crew besides Bardin, obviously dwarfs being grudge heavy and emotional attaches to what they hold dear.
I just mean it as in, everyone has worked in a crew of some sort and experienced loss to some capacity. Sienna has been hired as a bright wizard for combat multiple times and Kruber also being a merc as well, the difference being that Krub probably felt more equal or on the same level as the rest of the company in the front lines. Hell I may just be looking more into it, but Sienna warming up to everyone definitely seems like an intentional thing since she finally feels like she can be with folks that have the same misfortunate circumstances she always finds herself in.
Thanks for the vidoe :3

The relationship, such as it is, genuinely wouldn't work unless Markus is a GK since he'll die long before Kerillian even feels old.

Haha, way to make a dialogue video entertaining!
So many times i had been the last as Saltz, but never heard voicelines like other's. Every time i had to coldly thinks of a solution for victory, your's description on Saltz lack of "last man standing" voiceline helped me to remember good ol days
Kruber: "It is what it is."
As a huntsman kruber main im afraid i hear the last man standing lines way to often
I always thought Kruber was the core of the team holding it together, but these voicelines showed me, that Sienna is the sweetheart, that everybody cares deeply about, even Saltzpyre. Bardin mourning her genuinely made me sad

Thankyou Janfon1 for uploading these dialogue videos! I love to listen to them every now and then! I also like listening to the necromancer dialogue as well, would there be any chance of recreating that kind of video for the other DLC careers? Thanks again my dude, love ur content!
Siena should have had one saying: I'll burn them... I'LL BURN THEM ALL!!
if sienna does end up being the last one left, it's quite possible she just goes complete overload on fire and destroys everything.
Bardin caring about everyone but the elf will never not be hilarious
"You cannot withstand to tide"
"VERMIN, I AM THE TIDE!"
I love the detail how out of the entire crew Bardin is the only one who really shows full remorse for every single one of his companions no matter what he might have said to them while they where alive, and how all of them without fail unanimously mourn Sienna, even Salzpyre in his own way. Also, I get the sense from her mixed lines that Kerilian's shit talking is more of a cope than genuin. As a wood elf she probably have seen way more death than is healthy so being callous about it makes sense, but her lines where she demands revenge and actually genuinly show remorse makes me think she cared more about them than she dared to admit to them while they where alive. Like all that spite and sass from her is a cope stemmed from fear of pain rather than genuin disdain.
Especially when Marcus dies, you get a feeling she really liked that man, especially after she always made fun of Sigmar and such, her saying "For Kruber's sake, i hope Sigmar is real" hits really hard, especially with the tone and her voice quivering.
I half expected Saltzpyre to fucking screech "SIGMAAAAAAAR!!!" for a last stand phrase
