I’m not too sure about the pink 1 as well, but I feel maybee it might be able to combo really well w a good eye makeup look. But idk 🤷♀️ I heard having a brighter light undertone under ur eyes can make a eye look pop more
The pink setting powder definitely looks brighter and the other side looks more natural. I think they both have their own applications, just for different makeup goals
Yes I think the pink could be really nice in some settings like evening makeup or under studio lights where you want your face to be bright and pop but would probably look kind of ashy on dark skin under natural light.
From my experience pink on dark skin only looks good when the person is very VERY cool, which is a rare complexion to have. Their natural highlights have a silvery tone already, which is a good indicator that pink will work. Yellow or warm usually look clownish on their skin
True. When i didn't know better i bought warm beige loose powders and i would always look like a different skin. I'm really cool toned so pinkish setting powders are the one for me.
I like both. Pink offers a highlight but not the ashy u described but not moist wet highlight. The other melts into ur beautiful skin at the same time brightens w/ a reddish hue.
i think the pink side has more coverage and definitely looks brighter. personally i don't think it looks ashy, i think it's very flattering and with blush on top i bet it looks even prettier!
Pink side, slightly brighter, but not enough to make me feel like it was a major improvement. There’s a short of someone applying a setting powder by Jaclyn hill and saying she had to trust the process because initially it looked so wrong on her, but as she continued applying it over her entire face, he looked really beautiful. I would love to know your reaction to that short
The pink looked blurred yet a bit ashy. The warmer looked natural like nothing is there. I think the brand of pink setting powder could make a difference because I can see how it could work on darker skin tones.
The pink would be great for stage makeup or a gala event because your features looked sharp wnd those shadows popped. I like the other side better, natural, softer not harsh but complimentary and warm. Really interesting to see both ❤️
pink is suited for cool skin tones and yellow is for warm, if you’re neutral then either works (or a neutral color, which is kinda rare to find in makeup). you KNOW a makeup brand doesn’t understand color theory when they make a “suitable for all skin tones” product. it’s nearly impossible for ONE color/tone to look good on ALL skin shades.
@@Ohemaa Girl this has sparked a whole issue in my life 🤣 Laura Mercier discontinued my green shine control powder! 😢 I still have one but now Im sad. Its ok though *NYX* still makes their *HD Finishing Powder in Mint* *Laniege* just released a powder *Neo Essential Blurring Finish*
Love your channel cause you are 100% authentic with your tips and tricks. You don’t give into the BS of trying to seek us a product. You demonstrated and help those of us with a darker complexion ❤❤❤
Of course I agree with them both and depending on the look is what makes it work. Only when mentioned, the pink powder appears a tad ashy but we have to remember that she’s yet to set her face with a spray. And over time the pink will settle and she did take quite a bit of the pink powder and could’ve used LESS. The other side looks common, regular and outdated personally to me.
To be honest Your Bass looks so good I didn't even realize that you had foundation on! I have seen pink powder work on dark complexions and I think you're right you have to be careful with the amount that you use but I prefer the other one. Because I think in certain lighting the pink is going to look ashy
I like both for different reasons the pink side would look good with a glam look where you might want a more highlighted look. For everyday I would’ve gone with the Ami side because it looks more natural and seamless.
You look stunning! About 5 or 6 years ago I used a pink setting powered too because I wanted to see how it looked on me. It came out great tbh. I loved it but then I never did it again and I can’t remember why. Glad it’s coming back around, I just hope ppl learn to use it correctly because like you said, it can definitely make or break the look
Both are good looks, just different. If you're going for a red/pink over all look (eyes, lips, and blush) the pink would look fantastic. For orange/gold/yellow definitely the regular setting powder. For mixed, neutral, or cool tones, I could see either one but the regular setting powder probably would be safest.
I’m glad pink powder is getting more popular cuz I feel like most powders lean towards yellow (banana powder craze) and my really neutral-cool pale skin always looks weird with the yellow cast
I actually like the pink one better. As a woman of color myself I’m shocked at how good this looks I would’ve never thought a pink powder would look good on us. Wow 😮
I like the pink side but I would need to see it after a few hours. I agree with you, anything that isn't at least a little brown calls back terrible memories... Like banana setting powder 😂😂😂
the pink side looks a lot brighter in comparison to your normal powder, so i’d say it comes down to matter of preference, how it mixes with your other products, and the finish throughout the day
I actually liked the pink setting powder. It made it more highlighted than ashy. It gave you more of a sculpted look. The other only dulled out the highlighted areas
Id like to see a purpley type tone for darker skin, i feel purple blush looks extremely beautiful on dark skim so i wonder how a purple tone powder would look. Like not purple like a bruise but similar to the pink
The pink one very clearly looks like makeup, reminds me of those days when drawing a triangle with a ton of tarte shape tape 10 shades lighter than one's complexion was all the rage
I use and love both. Pink powder when I am going for a more vampy look or with my winter skintone. Yellowe during the summer months or when I want a saturated//sweet look!! For context I'm a brownskinned black fellow with a neutral yellow undertone that becomes warm under the suns guidance,, and is more neutral and cold without it.
I like the brightness of the pink, but I think it's just a shade or 2 too light. I'd love to see what mixing the 2 powders half and half would do. The brightness of the pink, but a better color match... Stay beautiful dear! 😊
I have olive undertones and pink setting powder is my arch nemesis 😅 On you it definitely looked ashy. On camera it doesn’t look that bad but I’m guessing irl it’s not that great.
For you, definitely the regular setting powder. The other could maybe be utilized for a stylized cooler toned look, but the warmer undertone is very lively for you! ☺️
The second powder application looks flawless, it instantly made your skin so smooth and naturally beautiful. The pink powder was slightly ashy looking.
I think there's room to work on, you could easily make a pink setting powder more suited to your undertone and pigment preferences with eyeshadow, if you're worried about it being ashy just do a more peachy tone or add warmer colours, and if you're worried about it being too yellow on you just use more purples and cool tones, overall I just think it's an interesting spin on setting powder :>
They both look good, but I like the non-pink better on you. Might be worth a try for me though? I have very bluish under eye skin. I have always struggled with concealers there.
The pink side is def brighter. The regular side though looks the best. Still gave some bright ness and lift but IMO the formula looked like it went on wayyyy smoother too. I will say this too in regards to that, maybe it's just the way it translated on camera but it looked like the pink grabbed onto her concealer in a wonky way in a few places. Maybe I'm crazy though.
I think the pink poweder makes you look cooler, so if you're wearing a lot off cool tones, it might be a good choice. Imagine a sparkley or metalic silver eye, or grey-indigo smoky eye; the pink powder would help someone warm toned harmonize better with their makeup. The other setting poweder looks warmer, so a better choice for wamer looks. An intense bronze or gold eye, or a simple warm glowy look would be enhanced with a warmer setting powder.
To avoid the ashyness maybe try a bit darker pink? Like I think when it’s intentional, like the blush undereye, it could look gorgeous on all skin tones!
I'm a fan of bright and shimmer and color. I think if I were designing a look for you, I might use the pink setting powder under the eye, because I like that brightness and contrast. I like to see the makeup. It almost looks like a highlighter. I would never use it on the whole face, though, and I'd it looks ashy in person, then that's the wrong vibe. I know you like a more natural look, so I think you are right to ditch the pink setting powder.
I feel the pink could def work for certain looks, it does cool n desaturate the area a bit. The other def works better for most cases I think, as I could barely even see it going on it blended in that much.
The pink side has a more smoothing look than the other imo. I could see it being too much of over doing it though from the way it looked before you blended it in.
Definitely definitely pick setting powders based on your undertone. I am super cool without basically any warmth, so pink setting powders look good on me. But if you have a yellow or olive undertone, that pink is just going to cancel out the warmth in your skin and make you look ashy.
I like the pink also. I think the pink softens you (like a wedding day soft) while the warm is a healthy summer warm glow. I think it needs a few minutes to adjust. I think the lighting is going to effect the final look.
Most definitely the warmer toned yellow based powder. The pink powder is too cool and ashy looking.
True
It’s cool and ashy for us girlies with cool undertones, not bright and warm ones like her.
I’m not too sure about the pink 1 as well, but I feel maybee it might be able to combo really well w a good eye makeup look. But idk 🤷♀️ I heard having a brighter light undertone under ur eyes can make a eye look pop more
It seems like the pink setting powder would look good on someone that dark skinned but is on the cooler side
@@cidneymonroe9858exactly what I was thinking
I actually like the pink on your complexion. You did it soft enough that it looks subtle and brighter. ❤

True. When i didn't know better i bought warm beige loose powders and i would always look like a different skin. I'm really cool toned so pinkish setting powders are the one for me.
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!! As a cool tone girly I HAVE to do pink because warmer ones make me look horrid.
Depends on the pink too 🤷♀️
@@sonyap8253 yes this too!! Pinkish purples normally work better for darker skin compared to light pinks my ghost white ass needs
@MBJK_baby yes I use a coral pink lightly and I look summery. If I use cool pinks I look...clamy lol
The side with the pink powder I think looks a little more cool tones and the other side more warm tones but personally I think they both look great 😊
I prefer the pink one, it lifts your face up more and brings kind of mysterious vibe to your look
Surprisingly I like the pink side. I guess it depends on which color eye shadow you use
I like both.
Pink offers a highlight but not the ashy u described but not moist wet highlight.
The other melts into ur beautiful skin at the same time brightens w/ a reddish hue.
I like the regular setting powder! The pink one just looks... wrong in a way I can't really describe.
i think the pink side has more coverage and definitely looks brighter. personally i don't think it looks ashy, i think it's very flattering and with blush on top i bet it looks even prettier!

Also could you try a pink shade from another brand. Onesize tend to be really matte so that also might affect the finish

The pink brightens your under eye very pretty. A little went a long way. I'd probably use it for special occasions
She is stunning!
For natural make up I like your regular setting powder. For days you want to really look “snatched” the pink looks great.
I think the pink powder gives a more dramatic vibe and the warm toned one a softer, more natural look.
Crazy how there is NO DIFFERENCE , and I’m here for it
