It isn’t racist, it’s the name of the creature. Which wasn’t named ‘Black Man’ because they were racist, actually, it was named black man because it was literally a creature of darkness. The Bogeyman/Boogeyman was black, not as in black race, but as in the literal colour black.

@@jymbo1969 Technically, it is literally "black man", but it refers to a game, a bit like tag, that european kids used to play in schoolyards. The "black man" represented death and the designated player was supposed to catch the others. It's just a clever play on words and thematics, nothing to do with race as some people seem to be making it out to be.
@@mandarinablue8438 I've been thinking about it, and I have come to believe that it is both bogeyman and black man, simultaneously. The song seems to be about fear of the other, and minorities in particular. I see it as a condemnation of the fear of, and hatred for, Syrian refugees throughout Europe, specifically. At least the video seems to suggest so. Just my updated opinion.

It ain’t meant to be Monster (though the creature it is mentioning is one), and not supposed to be “Black man” either, that is the German name of the game. English equivalent is “Bogeyman” or “Boogeyman.”
