When I was growing up, TV shows that purported to depict typical American families were about people who lived in freshly-painted houses with landscaped front yards and white picket fences. The moms wore pearls, heels and starched, ironed dresses to perform light housework, like running a mop or vacuum across the floor. Their hair and makeup were always perfect. Dads would come home from the office, exchange their suit jackets for cardigans, (but keep their Brooks Bros. shirts and neckties on) smoke pipes and read the paper while they waited for dinner. The kids never got into any REAL trouble. No one was ever seriously ill or injured. No one ever died. There were no house fires or hurricanes or earthquakes or floods. There were no homeless people, or free-wandering lunatics. In short, everything was always perfect, except for whatever little minor issue the show was about: Jr. smuggling in a stray dog, or Sis staying out after curfew. This wasn't even CLOSE to the way most families lived. TV did us a great disservice by creating this ideal and telling us something was wrong with us if our lives weren't like that. It would have been so much better if they had shown us families like yours. Yes, you have sadness and worries and problems (like we ALL do) and yes, sometimes things fail to work out the way you want them to, but you're a wonderful, close-knit, supportive clan, who love each other and work hard and make good food and beautiful music. I wonder if things would be different today if we'd grown up watching shows about real people in Appalachia and the deep South and Wyoming and New York City. Good, strong people, dealing with problems unique to their regions and common to us all. I think we might be closer as a nation today. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with so many of us around the world. You are deeply loved by hundreds of individuals you'll never even know, and I hope that knowing this makes you as happy as it makes us.
I grew up with that too and even at a young age knew it was “pretend”.
I loved those shows and loved pretend play…
Plenty of time and lessons in real life to learn the good, the bad and the ugly.
Watch Euphoria and Shameless. Imo, shows like that do more of a disservice by normalizing degeneracy.

I use dolls a stick of melted butter in pan..mix a cup of sugar a cup of milk a sup of flour..put in pan. It won't be smooth..put 2 cans of peaches or one can of peaches in pan. Bake at preheated oven at 350 till done. Orvuse a quart of any fruit you like

I’m left handed and play guitar right handed, I think it made cord fingering and solos easier as the left fingers are for the most part more coordinated from other things anyway. Never even thought about it when I first picked up the guitar since everyone else in the family played a right handed one so I never even knew there were left handed ones until I had already been playing. But throw right handed too, write left handed. Shoot right or left. Love the hymns you guys play! Like it when you show the fingering hand while recording.

Also have to tell you a funny story…I watched a day in the life video Corey did right before I went to sleep last night. I had the funniest dream. Corey you and I were taking a 2 hour drive to the country to go apple picking. We picked 3 huge bags because we wanted to make apple pies. On the drive home we ate so many of the apples we hardly had any left to make pies!!!
I awakened this morning cracking up because of the dream. Must be because you were talking about how hungry you were in your first trimester! HAHAHA😂😂

I missed the live🙁. Do the girls have albums they sell? I also have a prayer request for my Dad he is 74 years old and has a lot of back problems. He has had 4 surgeries on his neck and is now getting injections in his lower back. We also have a community member missing. We live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I know the family that is missing their loved one. Can you please add them to their list as well? Hi Katie, Corie, Tipper & Matt ( & Olive & Binx) As a now retired nurse & Mom of three, I would HIGHLY suggest an Infant/Child FIRST AID & CPR CLASS. Local hospitals hold them for a small minimal fee or free. I took it it while expecting my 2nd child since my Hubby wanted me to go along with him, which was great since I did have to save my ( then)toddler from choking. My Brother & SIL were visiting & my daughter started choking at lunch. It just takes over, afterwards I was shook up but so glad I wasn’t alone. Speaking of spaghetti, my daughter & I made homemade sauce today lol.God Bless , Hugs.,Anita3kids 🙏🏽💜🧶
