Any of the c.o.e.'s that housed a 12V-71 to begin w/, would be great.Freightliner, Kenworth, or Pete come to mind.If you decide to go con- ventional, I'd shoot for a KW or Pete , maybe a 4300 I-H Transtar. Just make sure it was already set up for that engine with the plumbing & wiring to make it easier on you and your pocket book.

Heres what i would do XD
Buy a Brandnew Fakerbuilt (389) with the longer hood... Sell that Good and make a 359 Hood from scratch... based on the 389s hood but with the beautyfull 359./379 look... And litteraly make it a Glider Kit a new truck with a Real Engine that has never been done before ;)
Who knows perhaps one day ill be able to afford a Pete myself and go nuts on that... Downside is in Europe they want to Prohibit vehicles with a combustionchamber in the near future.
I love the idea of a Retrofitted Truck!
    Greetz from The Netherlands,

I'd say throw it in something like a White-Freightliner COE, or even a conventional if you can find one, or just a regular Freightliner FLC. Only issue I can see with that is that I'm not sure if the old Freightliner conventionals like the FLC can fit an engine that size. Seen FLCs with 8V71, and maybe even 8V92 engines, but I've never really found anything on the web about one with a 12V71 in it.🤔

Freightliner FLC did have a 12v71 called the PowerLiner it can be identified by the oversized grill to fit the oversized radiator that was necessary

You’ve got it out, and obviously you are going to pull it apart to see what you have, so it’s the perfect time to put a turbo on it.

That is what I was thinking. The 12v71 was a dog without turbos. Probably worked fine in off road. Gonna take some work to make it a road engine.
