Hi I have a macbook 2008, bought from the internet but the owner forgot to reset the computer. The old owner had installed a firmvault on the mac as well. I don't need the old owner data I just want to use the mac. If I install a new hard drive can I use the mac as new?
If no what can I do to reset the mac loosing everything I don't care.
I tried all the commands without any success:
    cmd r
    cmd alt r
    cmd alt shift r
    cmd alt shift power button
    all without success.
    I have no installation disk
    Any clever solutions?
    Thank you

      Hello LucaFacchiniStudios,
Yes, if you replace the drive you can start the machine all brand new. You should also be able to just erase the drive. Here is a link with step by step instructions from Apple if that does not help. We would recommend you just replace the drive.
