Nice upgrade! I plan to go back to the beginning of your build this week, joined you part way and missed. Down in Melbourne this weekend and today will go to my favourite market at Preston. Look forward to the next one.
Thanks for the video, I recently purchased the same drill and am very happy with it, and yes, it is very heavy. BTW, the thing with the tongue is called a tapered mandrel. On another topic, I wrote to you a few weeks back about your 3D printing. As I have just had a birthday, I went out and also purchased the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. Just getting started with it and am really pleased with it. A question on learning, what did you use to learn the Bambu Lab Studio software, and also Fusion 360. Thanks - Steve
I already knew a thing or two from using other software, but there are is so much content on using the bambu lab software on RUclips. The problem I find is that you need to know the features first, then look. I have been playing with filling in with colour for multi-colour prints.
To fix the safety guard issue, I would simply remove the switch from its housing and use some tape to hold the contractor in the always closed position. That way you can either use the guard or not at your discretion.
I found a way to perform a full device reset, then just leave it unplugged. The guard registers with the firmware once you plug it in once, then as soon as you disconnect it, it stops the machine. So, if you have one of these just don't plug it in at all. Also the cable tends to really get in the way.
Hi there, it is still a little early for me to recommend it as I haven’t had much use of it, but it is really impressive so far and I find the chuck doesn’t have as much wobble as my previous drill press did. So it feels like it is a lot better constructed, but it is also almost triple the price of my previous drill press. Stay tuned, after a few months I plan to do an in depth review. I just want have a review from actual use.

Hope you enjoy your time in Melbourne! It is lovely this time of year, except for the wind and rain!
What height is the table you mounted the press on? Are you happy with the height? Or would you have chosen a different height?
