For anyone who's confused about what determines Pop music, lemme simplify it for you: Pop hits/artists are made in the BOARDROOM.... not the studio. The architects of Pop material sit in labels' sales/Marketing departments, they don't sit behind a soundboard. A lot of bullshit beats/lyrics have gone on to be Pop hits..... and the most fire compositions have ZERO chances to become Pop hits without an effective corp machine behind it - Joe Budden himself is proof of this.
