With amd the drivers need updates with invidia they perform good from purchase idk why amd doesn't do the same thing tbh it makes their performance look worse on release the 6700xt wasn't that great on release but became one of the best budget gpus with firmware updates
AMD Driver work differently than Nvidias. Basicly Radeon cards load in a bunch of stuff into the VRAM when starting a game. Nvidia usually tries to load in minimal data.
I have a 7900GRE in a 7700X system. I also have an RTX 4090 in a 7800X3D system. The 7900GRE is great unless you want to use ray tracing in Black Myth Wukong. It' ray traces fine in Ratchet and Clank and Cyberpunk 2077, which I wasn't expecting. AFMF2 and FSR3.1 w/ frame gen are a big help too. If you want to use heavy ray tracing, get a 4080 or 4090 and skip the 70 series cards altogether.
@@adonizss I should be a little nicer to Nvidia. The 4070S isn't terrible...it's just lackluster to me for being $50 to $100 more than the 7900 GRE. DLSS and frame gen aren't the selling points they used to be since FSR 3.1 and AFMF 2 have come out.

What driver issues? It's some kind of myth (aka lie). No driver issues with AMD cards/drivers. Actually they have less overhead than nViddia drivers in DX12, so proably are better. And user expierience is miles better with AMD drivers than nVidia.
Driver issues do occur but just as much as or less than Nvidia in the past it was an issue but hasn't been for 6000 or 7000 series if it's 100 euros cheaper than id personally recommend the 7800xt

Black myth wukong doesn't have the best looking textures and can still use more 8gb vram with RT. Plus it's far from "the most graphically impressive" game, Alan Wake 2 looks better (and uses a lot more VRAM ). If you're still defending 8gb Vram, you deserve it.
That is because it is made in UE5 as well as Hellblade which also uses less than 8. But it is graphically a lot more intensive doing so. That is because of nanite and some other stuff that has onlinited LOD and doesn't have to have so much textures loaded at all times. But Wukong has bad textures anyway.
Just so you know, there is no difference between DLSS 62~89% in Wukong, it is all DLSS Quality (which is 66%), so when you run FSR 75%, you are putting extra load on the AMD GPU because FSR is compatible with a resolution slider.
I really don't know which one to choose between the 7900 gre or the 4070 super, they are for the same price. I don't understand much about these topics and I don't know which one to choose. can someone help me?
If you are only looking for a gaming card, go for the 7900 gre (more power + more vram). If you do other stuff like rendering or cuda dependent software, go for the 4070S. If you can wait I'd wait, 5000 and 8000 series will release early january 2025. This could happen even earlier although it's unlikely.

How come the VRAM usage varies so much between 4070 S & 4070 Ti S? Ideally considering that both of them are from Nvidia & of the same generation, their compression algorithm should be similar.
the 4070s has 12gb while the 4070ti super has 16gb. games will have more allocation of vram on the 4070ti super than the 4070s simply because it has a larger amount of it.
@@JegsTV I beg to differ my friend. I'm talking about games which are not using more than 10GB of VRAM on either of them. One is around 8.x while the other is around 9.x for example. In such cases VRAM does not matter as we are not hitting the threshold for 4070 Super.

There's no such thing as a game will use a fixed amount of vram in certain settings and resolution. I give u an example..Ratchet & Clank can still run ultra 1080p settings on 8gb vram card and the vram usage probably around 7-4-7.6gb.. If u run the RnC ultra 1080p with 16gb vram card, the vram usage could be more than 10gb..the difference is the 1% and 0.1% lows. Fyi, AMD and NVIDIA allocate vram differently, which AMD tend to allocate more vram than the game needed (as you've seen in RDR2 benchmark) while NVIDIA is more optimize or smarter when it comes to vram allocation. Anyhow, if you choose NVIDIA card make sure u can utilize all their features (RT,PT,FG) cause all these features will use lots of vram to run smoothly..4070 ti super should be the base model to use it..if those features don't interest u, go for AMD. Because the 7900GRE is WAY cheaper than the 4070ti super and performs identically. And then it trades blow in ray tracing with the 4070 super. 7900GRE is the best buy unless you exclusively play ray traced titles. However. Even in CP2077 I play it at 1440p ultra ray traced settings on FSR Quality and I get between 55-65 fps on my 7900gre. Very nice card.

Without testing the raytracing performance in heavy raytracing it is not a fair comparison. AMD sucks at raytracing, leaving that out might implicate they make good GPUs but they don't right now. Can't take tests seriously when they leave out raytracing performance.
I need you to think about what you said here because people who truly care about RT performance DO NOT BUY AMD!!!! AMD GPU's ARE good GPU's for raster and light RT and before you even mention DLSS Black Myth Wukong was the ONLY game that didn't hit at least 60 fps on the GRE turn down a few settings and you'd be golden....You don't NEED scaling for what you do with a GRE.
Amd got some nice GPU's but man their driver support is horrible compare to nvidia if they at least stopped worrying about antilag 2 and afmf and worried more about their drivers being more stable and better the market wouldn't be so divided. i been with nvidia since i made my first starter pc with a 750 ti back in the day the last nvidia gpu i had was the 3070 before i upgraded to amd 7800 xt and the only regret i have is because of the bad drivers making some games unplayable. We haven't even got the new GPU Driver because it was unstable and had to pull it out 24.8.1 you cant even find it.

Raytracing and light emulation coding is a complete waste of hardware taxation. Games are a playable artistic medium. Not a reality simulator, thus it makes absolutely no sense to replicate reality when simulation saves hardware resources and stabilizes the gamers experience. Now we have developers trying so hard to copy reality instead of mastering their own version of it. Stupidity.
So, 12GB VRam is still enough for the next 3-4 Years for 1080p/1440p.

i play Wukong at 1440P Max and i surpass 12Gb quit often in some Areas (using 4070Ti Super)
This game does not use high quality textures. So you can get away with lower vram GPU’s.

No problems with any drivers so far with my 7900 gre
@@Wet_Fungus people recommended not to download 24.7.1 because you get bsods and crashes on the 7800xt you gre so you werent effected
@@carlosandres8974 my experience is that many people have crashes due to overclock / faulty GPU / unstable ram, I never had driver issue with both Nvidia / AMD

@@thesimpleway1998 everyone has a different experience but as of now its not a pleasant one and my hardware isn't faulty i already talk to amd about the issue.
Raytracing and light emulation coding is a complete waste of hardware taxation. Games are a playable artistic medium. Not a reality simulator, thus it makes absolutely no sense to replicate reality when simulation saves hardware resources and stabilizes the gamers experience. Now we have developers trying so hard to copy reality instead of mastering their own version of it. Stupidity.
Definitely a CPU bottleneck.
