This is so accurate. I've had it up to here so I usually do all my sherpa runs like bootcamp. If you dont have patience, you get booted. If you called "ad clear" you get booted. If you dont choose a role and go silent, I will randomly assign a role and if you fail at it, you get booted. Sorta like me except I get real passive aggressive and rude to the dude not cooperating, most of the time they switch up real fast or I end up switching up strat to exclude that person from mechanics, they get carried but in turn learn almost nothing
Before my days as a sherpa, I would’ve called that ridiculous. After experiencing the past 2 years of carrying LFG blueberries, though, I pretty much do the same thing you’re doing.
bro i legit had a guy i was sherpa’n thru Leviathan (R.I.P Greatest Raid Ever) and during pools encounter, “I’ll be right back guys, i gotta go take a shower.” So now, i make sure i tell everyone to wash their ass before they join the fireteam. no joke
favorite part is when you try to show a new strat they can use for flawless and they cry that its easier to just do death strat (specifically talking about templar cheese here)
It's kind of fun watching people get super excited their first time and run off with the chalice after they've been told exactly where to stand and not move. I let them all have a few wipes first before reining it in. They listen more once they realise they're getting nowhere.
I'm a fan of the shield carrier in sisters encounter running off after killing the first sister and forgetting about the wipe mechanic. Me. I am that shield carrier.
My boyfriend has two gun stories with King's Fall. Both are at the Totem's encounter. In D1, it was possible to sword block through the damage of being in the Totem rooms without an Aura. But our core group found the encounter not difficult and just ran it normally. When my boyfriend volunteered to help another group, they insisted they do the sword block cheese but *they couldn't do it properly.* In D2, boyfriend volunteered to help another group. No cheese strat exists (as far as I know), but the group could not get through it because they refused to change their loadouts. Most were running with glaives and some were using swords, not able to kill mobs efficiently.
Stg im not even a Sherpa but it’s so frustrating trying to explain one of the easiest encounters in a raid just for everyone to go silent when I ask who wants to do what role. Like I just had to do my first ever Sherpa tonight and I had to ASSIGN roles, nobody volunteered except for my clan mate who I was sherpaing😭
Yup, that’s how it is. I ask what roles people want to do and after 3 seconds, I just start assigning. People who want to learn will say something. People who just want the clear will stay quiet
That is actually me try to teach people Vow of the Disciple. It was different but when we started the raid. People just left early when I talked about the "Google" image that shows all the symbols and names. People had that but the others left think this is like a waste of time like bro we already started a raid and I was like dang it. People need to be patient tho, am I right?

BAD example of a Sherpa run. Step 1: have them All go to the top of the stairs in the throne room except two people. Step 2: One person tractor pushes in past (Mars) and one relics in future (Venus). Then, when the 5th add has spawned (Chicken or Mino) they open up the portals.

To be fair, with a xenophage and a veritys brow and fusion nades, you can 1 man atheon with moderate difficulty as long as the people youre playing with dont fudge the mechanics.
VOG killed my mood for raids, we were in the oracles before the second boss, ez right? we failed 3 times and I was like: what the heck this guys dont destroy their oracles? they all have more than 10 clears. anyway i have to equip xenophage and did all the oracles my self. of course I abandoned after the boss, never again.
one thing I've learned joining raid groups is being as honest as I can be LOL I feel like they just appreciate it more and are more willing to go for the long run to teach you encounters.
One of my worst Destiny experiences was sherpaing a fireteam who didn’t realize they need a sherpa because they already had all these terrible strategies they didn’t want to change
As a former raid leader, here's my number one biggest tip: If an encounter features dividing people up into specific roles or teams (which most do), teach each role to the relevant member(s) in separate voice chats. When it's someone's first time in a raid, they don't need to understand (and will fail to) the entirety of each encounter. Just tell them what THEY need to know to make it through. Any additional background noise of your explanation is why people lose attention. When it's just a couple people that are being directly spoken to, people will listen to you more often than not.
You will not believe how many raids ive been in where an exploit was patched or theres only 1 or 2 that know how to do the exploit and then a guy is just completely lost because he never bothered to learn the legit way to do an encounter and has to relearn or the 1 or 2 people know that know it are so adamant we HAVE to do it their way so we spend the time teaching 4 people the exploit just for it to devolve into chaos where the intended way wouldve been half the time.
Omg that’s 90% of my Sherpa runs… so terrifyingly true. I need to add one more though… a random replacement joins and “explains” the exact same strategy I have been repeating for the last 10x wipes and all of a sudden “ yeah we should do it his way” 🤣
stasis warlock truly shines in the VoG an annoying thing that comes up is where the whole fireteam is like, "nah i dont wanna do oracles (before templar encounter)" like bro, i know i can solo oracles but damn atleast someone try to help or learn it, what if im not there
one raid I did we wiped like 7 times on an encounter after everyone saying "They got it they know what to do" then soon as someone want to the bathroom I straight up heard that Rick Kackis intro play over someones mic and like 3 people all said "Wait, wtf did I just hear Kackis?" lol
I feel like this can apply to any game. Trying to explain something to randoms, either through game chat or mic, feels like you’re wasting your breath 95% of the time. Either other players get a nasty attitude with you or they just completely ignore you. It’s very frustrating.

So like add me pls
bro i legit had a guy i was sherpa’n thru Leviathan (R.I.P Greatest Raid Ever) and during pools encounter, “I’ll be right back guys, i gotta go take a shower.” So now, i make sure i tell everyone to wash their ass before they join the fireteam. no joke
You can always 🧀 it
No way no one commented on your comment 😢
Cheese forever guardian🫡
favorite part is when you try to show a new strat they can use for flawless and they cry that its easier to just do death strat (specifically talking about templar cheese here)
As a sherpa for kings fall.... this is warpriest everytime 😅
"so who wants to take a plate?" ... complete silence
@@nikelossg4827 who wants to read? *crickets* 🤣
Haha yea dude for sure! Also GOS 3rd encounter 😂
Me trying to get 3 other people to stand on Shuro Chi puzzle plates 💀
You make it all the way to warpriest? I cant get past Totems with LFG newbies xD Even in KWTD...
Me. I am that shield carrier.
the only raids i remember by heart were the leviathan raids 😔😔 those were fun times man
This legit made me Arthur's fist mad remembering all of these people.
My boyfriend has two gun stories with King's Fall. Both are at the Totem's encounter.
In D1, it was possible to sword block through the damage of being in the Totem rooms without an Aura. But our core group found the encounter not difficult and just ran it normally. When my boyfriend volunteered to help another group, they insisted they do the sword block cheese but *they couldn't do it properly.*
In D2, boyfriend volunteered to help another group. No cheese strat exists (as far as I know), but the group could not get through it because they refused to change their loadouts. Most were running with glaives and some were using swords, not able to kill mobs efficiently.
Cool bf
These videos are hilarious and even more reason why I have never run a raid in 8 years
Stg im not even a Sherpa but it’s so frustrating trying to explain one of the easiest encounters in a raid just for everyone to go silent when I ask who wants to do what role.
People need to be patient tho, am I right?
your skits are gold man LOL
Saw the words and instantly felt your pain
armchair sherpa pulling up the rick kackis guide cracked me up
Man, I had a guy in a LFG group legit leave to drop something off to his sisters house and said he'll be back in 10. After 15 we kicked him. Lol.
Respect for the sherpas Im like the worst nightmare tell me a dozen times and I still get lost, I will shoot the wrong thing with the wrong gun, get killed all the time and if I dont I costantly fall off the map!!!
just get good man
@@Vengorn-1it’s a game. Getting good or not who cares bro
@@dann1483Well yes u r right it is a game and it's all about fun, but when a 2 hour raid takes too long and one person just keep falling off the map cuz he can't keep his attention up, then he is wasting other people's time, if he isn't going to focus. Have fun, but not on behalf of other people's time.
@dann1483 ya theres a point when the back pack gets to heavy
True story i have people 70 plus in my clan who i get through every raid multiple times a week if they can do jumping puzzles and mechanics i can expect a person to not fall off the map
Whenever I try to explain something, and I ask if they understand, I just get silence…
Not the rick kackis
havnt sherpa'd in years but this brought back some memories :D
yooo this is too accurate i spent 4 hours on atheon 5 man sherpa and 3 of them were in the same clan and they wouldn’t stop fucking arguing😭 couldn’t stop bitching that someone killed the one ad out of all the others like bro there’s more than one harpy for a reason
100% chance the afk guy is going to ask you to explain again once he gets back. 😔
As a raid sherpa from 2019 to 2022, I can tell this is 100% realistic and no exaggeration whatsoever.
😂😂 i relate to this everytime!! I just assign roles to people i dont even ask who wants to do what
Lmfao the accuracy of this video. It hit me on a spiritual level from how many sherpas I’ve been doing lately
The guy ordering the fastfood at the end had me in stitches. I miss raiding, but I so do not miss being a "single" sherpa. After a while we pretty much made sure we had at least 2 sherpa's so we can make up for the slack and still be kinda efficient and work in small teams and coach that way.
This spoke to my soul. Legit just went through this lmao
The idea of getting halfway through a Sherpa and saying hey give me a couple minutes then leaving to go to a McDonald's drive thru is hilarious
Most relatable thing I've seen all day😂
Nah no way in hell he left to get food haha love it
Tractor Cannon works too 1:00
that dude called sweeper bot is actually me in every first time raid I been in LOL, I be pulling Kackis for extra explanation XD
What gets me the most is when I'm trying to explain the mechanics and they just intentionally start the encounter while I'm explaining it.
As a Sherpa, I give you blueberries this sage advice.
MAN. THE @$#*. UP.
"what's up guys Rick Kakis here" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Listen explaining VOW to four friends doing it their first time was truly something and I don’t even Sherpa that much all I know is I feel empathy for you sherpas out there
Cliff hanger! What was the sauce?! Mayo, ketchup, no wait Peanut Butterrrrrrr 🙃
He had me at the Drive Thru😭🤣😂💀
Bro i love it i feel youre pain. And i hate it when youre getting ready and the music is loud and they are playing with a room full of loud ppl. "Bruh you cant play in your room?"
I look forward to all these videos. These are gold, the accuracy though
I pray it isnt a hot take to think people like this who dont take raids seriously at all, just shouldnt raid. Theres a difference between not knowing and being insanely incompetent
I used to drunk drag blueberries through the whole divinity quest. As a solo sherpa, I told them at the start. Ask questions but if you argue or free bird I will kick you at 10 hours in if I have to. Best raiding experience I’ve ever had. I never had to kick them. They didn’t know enough to bicker and I told them everything they’d need up front. 0:45 respectfully I’ve checked your raid reports. 0:50 had a guy bong rip and pull up a Khakis guide once.
Lmfaooo hit the nail on the head w the “ITS YA BOY RICK KAHKIS”
OMG the guy leaving right at gatekeeper is so relatable, it seems always someone has to use the bathroom or something whenever I get to that encounter *specifically*
I got carried in vog 5 times before anyone actually taught me anything
Hahaha 😂 this is on point! Thankyou for making my day 😊
To be fair, with a xenophage and a veritys brow and fusion nades, you can 1 man atheon with moderate difficulty as long as the people youre playing with dont fudge the mechanics.
I mean fuck pick a nade and go wild on him
One time a Sherpa told our group that he was teaching a vault of glass raid that took him 28 hours to complete
I literally had someone fall asleep in D1 crotas end. I was so pissed lmao
Fire content 😂😂😂 as a veteran destiny 1 player I’ve been atleast one of these guys Once 😂😂😂😂🤝🏾🤝🏾
Bro this hits me right in the feels. That's why I stopped leading raids.
one thing I've learned joining raid groups is being as honest as I can be LOL I feel like they just appreciate it more and are more willing to go for the long run to teach you encounters.
Man the Zelda OoT theme during the driv-thru order was spot on, not a care in the world, like they forgot they joined a raid firetime.. 🤣😂
I got so hyped when I pushed a minotaur off
One of my worst Destiny experiences was sherpaing a fireteam who didn’t realize they need a sherpa because they already had all these terrible strategies they didn’t want to change
As a former raid leader, here's my number one biggest tip:
If an encounter features dividing people up into specific roles or teams (which most do), teach each role to the relevant member(s) in separate voice chats.
LMAOOOOOOOO when you played that RUclips video sound had me WEAK!
Oh damn this was a good one. Thank god I don't sherpa because I do not have the patience
Definitely a day in the life of a sherpa
"Do any of you guys have stasis warlocks?"
*laughs in ultimate crowd control*
Omg that’s 90% of my Sherpa runs… so terrifyingly true. I need to add one more though… a random replacement joins and “explains” the exact same strategy I have been repeating for the last 10x wipes and all of a sudden “ yeah we should do it his way” 🤣
stasis warlock truly shines in the VoG
an annoying thing that comes up is where the whole fireteam is like, "nah i dont wanna do oracles (before templar encounter)" like bro, i know i can solo oracles but damn atleast someone try to help or learn it, what if im not there
theres always that one mf'er that gose afk for an hour.
The guy audibly watching the Rick Kackis video in the bg is so real. I’ve had that happen so many times. Like… why am I here? 😂
Lord ain't it so. The guy that goes out to pick a mate up from just down the road and the guy that won't stop chewing.
"can we cheese it" yeah I've noticed that one a lot the past couple weeks.
This is 100% accurate.😂
one raid I did we wiped like 7 times on an encounter after everyone saying "They got it they know what to do" then soon as someone want to the bathroom I straight up heard that Rick Kackis intro play over someones mic and like 3 people all said "Wait, wtf did I just hear Kackis?" lol
I feel like this can apply to any game. Trying to explain something to randoms, either through game chat or mic, feels like you’re wasting your breath 95% of the time. Either other players get a nasty attitude with you or they just completely ignore you. It’s very frustrating.
And then you reach Shuro Chi and 3 people leave after the first wipe because they have the checkpoint.
I will Never understand people asking for Shuro Chi checkpoints instead of just punching in the correct wish
LoL way too accurate! I feel that since I have kids it makes me way more patient, but patience has limits...
