This sketch played so well live on their first night of the tour. When they were meant to lower down the board from the rigging, they accidentally lowered a sign that said "Hitler" that was meant for a later sketch. Imagine the narration saying "And now for the tournament of people who are really bad at tic tac toe" and then you just see "Hitler" descend from the roof. Watching them try to weasel their way out of that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
I saw them do this live. Someone kept yelling out the correct moves to make, and one of the boys replied "Did you not hear the title of the sketch cunt?"
I like to think that the audience to an event like this if we’re real are people who actually know how to play and just want to watch two men fail for an afternoon.
At the Sydney one, a bunch of people yelled out for Zach to put it in a certain spot and he was like "I want you to know, *I* know where to put it, but the other spot is where *the character* is thinking to put it" or something along those lines. Great show
This sketch was easily one of the highlights of the Dead Cat Tour last year, the fact they were able to draw out such a simple joke for so long while still making sure it was funny was masterful. Glad this show's acting as an opportunity to adapt a lot of those sketches now too.
This was the MOST heckled sketch during the dead cat tour. It was hilarious that people didn't get the punchline of "two people who are bad at noughts and crosses." Loved the show so much ❤
See everyone else is talking about how they kept telling the audience to shut up in their live show, but in our Melbourne show Broden was exactly how he is here, looked at audience members, listened to them, gave them a nod each time, and then proceeded to mess up the entire thing. It was comedy gold, glad to hear they changed it up throughout the shows
I can't believe that they made those decisions. This was elite level thinking. I honestly would've chosen top right, but I get how it doesn't work for them. Brilliant match.
I guess we have to remember these are professionals at the peak of their game, and that game is very much a mind game. We're out here playing noughts and crosses, and they're playing 4th Dimensional Hungry Hungry Hippos.
Seeing this live was possibly the hardest I have ever laughed at anything. Somehow the only bit I really remember from it was at one point they started listing defunct Australian airlines instead of moves and Zach broke character to say “last night we were listing Anya Taylor-Joy films.” It is such a dumb concept and it is executed to absolute perfection 😂😂
I remember the first show during the magical dead cat tour they were doing this sketch and halfway though a lady in the front row had to leave, and Broden said "the fuck you going" 10/10 funniest shit ive ever seen
Lmaooo in Canberra last year one of the fellow VIPs was a midwife and had to leave half way through the show to deliver a baby, it was slightly more well recieved by Broden and the boys, taking note to say goobye to her mid sketch. What a show, didn't even live in Canberra, but nothing felt better than after they decided to go ahead with shitting on the city, I was able to appropriately yell "At least we're not in f*cking Perth" because as the phrase suggests, there's f*cking nothing to do in Perth.
Man the sheer amount of pure acting that went into this was great especially near the end when it's the last space and not broden says hell take the spot that "NO!!" Sounded so genuine it had me cry laughing
All that’s missing is the audience shouting out the ‘correct’ locations and Zach having to remind them that it’s a skit, and that he’s not actually shit and noughts and crosses
Did that happen at the live show you saw, at the show I saw the audience were encouraging them and telling them they were doing well by giving them thumbs up
I was in the Sydney Friday night crowd on their Magical Dead Cat Tour, so it's cool to see how this sketch is meant to go without people yelling out answers and Broden yelling at us to STFU.
Dude I was at that show and it was one of the best 15 mins of my life. The boys telling people stfu while trying not to laugh was just the cherry on top. So so happy we got to see it live
Seeing this live in Wellington had me in tears, I especially love how people in the crowd kept yelling out the obvious moves and you had to keep re-explaining the premise of the sketch.
These are by far my favourites by Aunty Donna. Just a nonsensical concept, but fleshed out and sophisticated. Made my soul chuckle all the way through.
Jesus, watching neither of them go for the top right (when it was so obvious) makes me want to lightly slap a koala and then spend at least a month making it up to koala.
Mark does a great job going from mild mannered to upset. It was where that character was always going to go, but he nailed the right energy levels throughout. That's a big-word brainy way of saying it make the whole thing funnier.
And in the UK. In fact I think most English speaking countries. It's funny because America is usually the one that has the more literal names for things but not in this case.
Just played noughts and crosses with a three year old. It was genuinely like this, especially as I was trying to lose (which is much more fun anyway especially when you're playing with someone who doesn't know the strategy)
Scrolled down to comment on how funny this bit was at the Canberra show with the audience interaction, but from the looks of it it was just as good everywhere else, amazing
This just made me laugh harder than i have in a while. I can pinpoint so many moments that make this a great sketch, you guys are serioisly excellent. Marks beard is easily one of my favorite parts.
The true irony is that even the ref is pretty bad since the first move he suggests is a terrible move. He was probably a competitor in his younger years but had to retire once he finally understood the rules.
Perfect. Sketch takes a simple idea and draws out the core essence of the most funny scenarios to convey, a real masterclass at art and wacky conceptual comedy this will hopefully be studied for generations. Perfect sketch I don’t say that lightly I study comedy and run a film comedy podcast at my uni.
One of the funniest parts of the Magical Dead Cat Tour, maybe only topped by Zach having two Fanta spiders. I started golf clapping after each move, which the audience quickly took up, and the boys were super weirded out about us idiot Canberran's clapping 😂
Really thought I'd see this coming a mile away, but they managed to make it actually funny. The delayed "...congratulations" absolutely fucking floored me.
I saw this one at the Toronto show. They looped the dialogue around a few times (not sure if planned), but the timing was so good, that it remained funny. Thoughts and prayers for Mark.

Ahh shit!
Literally came down to comment the EXACT same thing
this video doesn't do the stage performance justice
Agree with all of the above comments. This bit done live might be the hardest I've ever laughed ever I was in serious serious pain so help me god.
This confirms that bogans are shit at comedy
Mark as the straight man is always so funny. He's great when he's wacky, but he plays the grounded one so well too
I think that’s it, because he’s so good at an unhinged character, starting off as the straight man slowly losing his mind is recipe for gold
He's just a swilly bwoy
Tell me if this says “grounded” to you…meatball parmigiana.
He's my favourite straight man, he can play the serious and annoyed character so well
Brody ftw
Gotta respect the details in their clothes. Broden's tie has crosses on it, Zach's has noughts, and Mark's suit has a grid pattern.
Wow! That’s a lovely detail!
I love it. But it also kinda makes me feel like they found the wardrobe first and then wrote the skit...
😳 I didn’t notice that until now!
@@jusstsprobably did
Truly professionals
"The crowd is applauding thanks to great direction form the 3rd AD" is such a cute added joke
Broden's intense pause before the "congratulations" and hand extension was brilliant. Loving all this new content boys
This sketch ended up going for like 10 minutes in the Wellington Dead Cat Tour because our audience kept interfering 😅 best 10 minutes of my life tbh
The way they dealt with the hecklers was legendary!

aunty donna fans are often complete idiots
Honestly I think I'd do it just for the reaction of being called a cunt by Mark
That's the premise, not the punchline...
there was no punchline, they continued being bad and both lost

Bruh Zach broke out of character and roasted some dude for a solid 5 minutes in Brisbane explaining how jokes work, it was beautiful
@Rem C it was great haha, I can't belive they tricked us into cheering for Hitler
As an American, it is a crime that the Netflix auntie Donna show was canceled.
Now what I don't understand is why they didn't just go top right
I guess because it was contented, as both of them wanted to go top right, and that can't be right.
I lost it at the end with brodies "good game". Thats perfect comedy.
When he pushes his wig off I lose it everytime😂😂

@@shia_labeouf well yeah because we dont call o's noughts or X crosses usually. sounds entirely foreign and weird to us.
